Commonwealth Court Guest House

Great apartment-style rooms in a old brownstone, at a fraction of the cost of nearby hotels, in a great area. The building itself is charming, and rooms are clean and comfortable. It's definitely quiet: I didn't see another visitor the whole time I stayed, despite the fact that all rooms were booked. The surrounding area is beautiful and safe, with abundant greenery and plenty of small shops, cafes, and restaurants, and it's a short stroll from the river and the MIT campus, if that's why you're there. There's no free breakfast, but rooms have a small kitchen (stove, microwave, sink, minifridge, tea kettle, coffee pot, assorted cookware and dishes utensils, etc.), bathroom, and other expected amenities, including cable tv and free wifi. Highly recommended. It's the first place in Boston I'll recommend from now on.

The Guest House is pretty central to everything which makes it wonderfully convenient. We recieved emails before we arrived to follow up on our booking and giving us instructions on how to get there. The only thing is our rooms are on the third floor and there is no lift. Good for your cardio though :-p

We arrived late 1 or 2 days before New Years; we went the wrong way on MA Avenue... but after that, this place is at a great location! It comes with a little kitchenette; private bathroom, and bit of a view; for the price! totally worth it. I would definitively stay here in the winter season.

I really like this place, clean cozy room and the location is close to everything! But they have a office hour, it's hard to reach them after hours.. We had some problems finding the place though~ Remind that they do not provide parking space but you can park at the parking garage nearby, a little expensive but reasonable. Overall I really love the experience and would definitely come back when visiting Boston again!

A really pleasant place to stay for a couple of nights. Loved the location of this place. Lots of things to do around here within a walking distance. Definitely a great place to stay

It is a good place, with an excellent location. The rooms are a bit small though.
