BEST PANCAKE DISH I HAVE EVER HAD! Super delicious and won’t disappoint. So many different tastes and textures in this fresh and fruity dish. Coconut flakes, Mango sorbet, yoghurt soft and cool. Crunchy shortbread. And soft fluffy pancake was an explosion of flavour and texture in your mouth. Just incredible you have to try this. My partner and friends also got some other dishes and they were not disappointed. Great service and friendly smiles. Of course coffees were essential. You have to try the lotus latte with a shot of coffee 🌟 amazing menu. Thanks again to all staff. From travellers Manchester 🫶🏼

Found the cafe' using Chat GPT. Off the beaten track a bit which was fine. Parking is on the street wherever you can find it. I found a small, funky, popular establishment with a good menu with so many options to add or change to meet your needs. The staff were friendly and helpful to make your experience pleasant. The prices were average and the food came fairly quickly (depends how busy they are). The food was just right and very tasty. Portions were a good size and the coffee was great. Highly recommend and will be back.

Amazing Brunch & Coffee Spot Near Home! We visited Commune Cafe recently, and it’s such a gem right near us! The menu is creative, and every dish is packed with flavour and texture. We had the Mango Lassi Pancake, and it was an absolute delight! The buttermilk pancake was soft and fluffy, with a tropical burst from the mango pulp on top. The gingerbread added a warm spice that made it even more unique—such a great contrast of flavours! We also tried The Froger, and it was perfection. The mix of two types of mushrooms with garlic and thyme gave it an earthy richness, while the pesto and thick sourdough added great depth. Topped with fresh avocado, it was such a balanced and satisfying dish. And the coffee? Absolutely next level! The freshly roasted mocha was smooth, bold, and just what we needed to complete the meal. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves great food, quality coffee, and a warm, welcoming vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a delicious meal at Commune. The food was exceptional, especially the fish tacos which were so fresh with beautifully made warm tortillas and the most juicy flakey fish. The greens bowl was also a standout, the crunchy sweet potato and tahini dressing were so good. The coffee was very high quality made with quality beans. The crew were so lovely and helpful and made us feel welcome. Such a great spot for quality food made with fresh ingredients and full of flavour! Will come back again and again.

Stopped by for breakfast and enjoyed an açaí bowl with fresh fruit and poached eggs on toast. The chef is a master at poaching eggs perfectly and plate styling. We also tried a sourdough chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was thick but crumbly.

I’ll be honest the food was good - however if you get their salad don’t ask for anything else because you’ll be disappointed for being over charged ridiculously! $8 for not even a quarter of a chicken thigh - is just absurd! I know things are getting tight and what not but I’ll never tell anyone to eat here because of it.

I knew the Commune Cafe was a quality establishment, and approached optimistically in the morning - hoping to find a spot to work for the day. Caffeine is commonly attached to my daily productivity. Once I saw the roadworks engulfing the whole area, I was less optimistic but approached the seeming cacophony of chaos cautiously. The construction crew were friendly and guided me to a prime parking spot right outside. Stepping inside, I found a comfy nook table with a powerpoint, making it an ideal remote workspace for the day. They have QR codes on the tables, so you can order and pay conveniently without human interaction if you wish. I started with a coffee which arrived promptly and during the day I sampled both coffee blends on offer. After my first coffee, my colleague arrived for a meeting and we ordered some breakfast. I went with the mushrooms on toast with avocado and feta. I enjoyed it a lot and the meeting was a success, I ordered a tea and settled into my first morning calls and virtual meetings for the day. Later in the day, I decided to try the fish tacos for lunch, my youthful adventures in Los Angeles has made them something I am usually drawn to, even though they can be hit and miss. I liked the rustic nature of the dish and thought the fish was nice. I like a good crunchy and herby affair when it comes to making the salad, sauces and flavours of a fish taco, especially to make the dish more playful and complimentary to the flavours of the fish. Despite a big handful of herbs and some chilli (see picture), these were pretty straight up and down. The herbs didn’t have much flavour, the coleslaw wasn’t crunchy anymore and so with the texture of the fish and avocado, it made the whole thing a bit more mushy by the end than I like, but I still enjoyed it. The noise from the roadworks and construction were a persistent hum, a reminder of the world beyond the sanctuary I am sure a place called “The Commune” aims for. The place was still well patroned, but not as busy as it deserves to be, and I am sure the roadworks are a major factor. Despite the external tumult, my work day at Commune was a success. As a regular digital nomad, I’d recommend it, the coffee is good and the staff weren’t trying to hurry me to order during the day, although I did keep the coffee and tea orders pretty regular during the day, as I should. Don’t let the roadworks around put you off, head there the owners will thank you, and so will your taste buds.

Google
Honestly the best cafe, service was incredible. Every staff member was welcoming and super friendly. The food was tasty and delicious and came out in literally 10mins! Not to mention the most reasonable prices I have seen in a while! I ordered the Foregers and it was only $20!!! The vibe is perfect, with great music, perfect menu choices and the best chai! (Prana!). If this cafe was in brisbane I fear I would be there every day.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast/brunch spot. Lovely outdoor seating. Great coffee and food. I would highly recommend the Slow Cooked Beef Cheek - epic. I ordered it with a side of Potato Rosti, one of the best decisions I've ever made. Good service makes this a necessary stop when you're in the area.

Yelp
Short walk from my Motel, always fresh and healthy eating. Fresh juices are amazing. There is one which is my hangover cure, mostly works. Coffee is also good.

Yelp
I am in love! The atmosphere is bustling, and chique, eclectic and funky. We were 7, but found a retro chrome table and a few mismatched chairs to accommodate everyone. Service is at the counter inside. We had a few recommendations from one in the group, but most of us ordered eggs benny of some description. I had salmon benny, and a jumping jimmy (espresso banana milkshake). The one regular ordered this magnificent salad with chicken and more beautiful fresh veggies than I could list on both hands. Great menu selection, including such buzzwords as 'homemade', 'organic', 'muesli', 'free range', 'fresh local', etc. It was Easter Monday, and they didn't charge a 20% surcharge, and guess what? The servers were actually happy, and they had a sense of humour! Bonus! They might even actually enjoy working there!! We spent about 2 hours just basking in the glory that is Commune.

Yelp
My quest to try more GC cafes continues with Commune. This little cafe on the main Gold Coast highway at Burleigh is such a treat! Expect a very funky interior, opshopped furniture, a cute astroturfed/umbrella'd outdoors area and a large cabinet filled with the biggest most scrummy looking and fresh sandwiches and cakes. We were surprised to find out on Mondays they go Meat free, and usual menu items featuring bacon or ham are served without (don't worry, there are plenty of alternatives). I had Huevos Rancheros: a delicious little pot of hot bean/tomatoey salsa with a poached egg, feta and topped with coriander. It was served with a half avocado and warmed tortilla. My sister had the Breakfast sanga: poached eggs, avo, caramelised onion, aioli and tomato on Turkish. The drinks selection is impressive, I spent SO long deciding what to get the woman at the counter was looking at me rather strangely. Campos coffee is served, cold drip coffee is available as well as an awesome Espresso slushie machine. Smoothies and fresh juices sound delicious and fresh; My sister had a dairy free smoothie of blueberries, banana and apple juice that tasted amazing. A Jumping Jimmy smoothie is also on the menu; basically a banana smoothie with an espresso shot. In the end I couldn't resist the Espresso slushie..... SLURP.

Yelp
Just spent a week in Melbourne, and I have to say the coffee at Commune was better than half the places I went to for brunch there - and I did a LOT of brunching in the supposed coffee capital of this big brown land. Service was quick and happy, and they even gave us a free smoothie due to the wait time on one of the meals (corn frittata thingy in which a new batch was being made). Only constructive feedback is that both my sister-in-law and I had way too much avocado to get through and couldn't finish it all (and we both LOVE the stuff). Commune - you needn't be so generous with the green stuff if it means food waste :/)

Yelp
Coffee was nice, and the staff were very friendly. Good looked great - the burcher muesli is awesome! The corn fritters are not too bad also. Coffee very nice!

Yelp
Great coffee with friendly staff. Always my favourite spot to do catch ups with friends

Yelp
Was looking for some laid back serving good honest breakfast kinda place after a midnight flight from Singapore and Commune honestly didn't disappoint . The beef burger was as visually fancy as its taste. Barramundi fish cakes had the fish and potatoes swimming really well together too. Totally love the vibes at this place too! Service was practical and not over the top :)

Yelp
The Campos coffee branding caught my attention as I flew past on the Gold Coast Highway - this was literally - a good sign. Warm and welcoming vibe, and genuinely friendly staff, happily informed us that it was Meat Free Monday. WHAT?! On holidays and craving bacon and eggs, or what is advertised on the menu deliciously as 'ham off the bone' and then to be completely shut down... Thankfully the menu was prettty awesome and I picked mixed mushrooms and persian fetta on toast. They were divine. The coffee was also good, as campos generally is. Sat outside in front of another shop, at 50s style dining table and chairs. Only annoyance was adjacent table of three women, one co-opting the others into buying skincare products. While their two daughters wandered towards the road and other perilous places. Would be great if this cafe was closer to the beach, and not on the side of the highway. However I expect its location has something to do with it not being overly commercialised and awful - a good thing!

Yelp
It's no secret that Commune serves great Campos coffee, has lovely staff, delicious breakfast and a relaxed atmosphere; it's always packed! This is my local coffee spot. I order a piccolo latte and the corn cakes usually. The coffee is always always delicious and expertly made. The corn cakes are light, full of flavour and topped with rocket, coriander, chili jam and a delicious cherry tomato and avo salsa. Poached eggs are optional for a more filling meal. Pancakes are served with a few different toppings but the organic coconut icecream is a winner! If you love savory breakfasts don't go past the mushrooms on toast; enoki, oyster, Swiss brown and other varieties are cooked to perfection in a buttery garlicky sauce and topped with a deliciously salty soft white cheese (likely to be fetta). Commune also do salads and sandwiches and have locally made sweet treats. I love the cheesecakes and pumpkin pies, but the caramel coconut cake (gf) is a stand out. Locally made Italian crostoli are also available occasionally. The atmosphere inside the cafe is relaxed and fun. Card and board games are available for patrons to play while they sip their coffees and the music is spot on. Outside the cafe there are lovely sunny spots for patrons to sit on vintage lounge and dining chairs. Space to tie up your dog and give them a drink and on Subdays there's a ping pong table for impromptu competitions. Not being from the Gold Coast originally, I was disappointed to find that no cafe I had visited included one of my favourite drinks on the menu - a banana smoothie with a shot of espresso. This did not however, stop me from ordering it, although most baristas would shoot me a bemused look. When I ordered it at Commune, the girls replied "You mean, a Jumping Jimmy?". Not only was it already on the menu, their version has a double shot of espresso! There's simply NO reason not to love this place.

Yelp
Every time I visit Commune it's like coming home. The food is always outstanding, the Campos coffee exceptional and the atmosphere is always perfect. We usually come to Commune for late breakfast or an early lunch on the weekends, time and time again the Dirty Chai and Blueberry Pancakes with Coconut Ice cream came through. I also love the Bircher Muesli and the Dark Chocolate Pistachio muffin is always a winner. This place, for me, has always been a favourite, the friendly staff and the eclectic mix of furniture make is a comfortable place to just hang out and enjoy the sun. Sundays Are always a bit special. the ping pong table is out and there are loads of people buzzing around soaking up the good vibes. It's one of those places you can go to over and over not regretting a single visit.

Yelp
Came here for brunch today with a friend. I ordered the chorizo bruschetta and a triple berry smoothie. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was fine, it took a while for them to notice us but once they did all was good

Adeline T.

Yelp
One of the most popular places for brunch on the coast and for good reasons. I came with a friend for a lazy Sunday brunch and was not disappointed. A solid little menu, all portioned. I had a LB in their superior blend and it was nice and smooth with minimal bitterness even when stone cold. Nice little selection of naughty treats or for the health conscious juices galore. You need to order at the counter so make sure you nab a table before ordering. My friend and I managed to nab a table right in the middle of the courtyard which had the comfiest chairs possible. They have jenga, connect4, uno and table tennis to give your brunch a kick. Dog friendly so there are plenty of cute pups to coo over whilst you eat

Justin T.

Yelp
Brilliant. Excellent food, excellent coffee... The chai was amazing... The music, the atmosphere, the service... It reminded so much of my favorite spots on the Eastside of Los Angeles... Thank you for making me feel at home.

Dani H.

Yelp
Coming here feels like you're going over to a mates place for breakfast, (just with 30-40 other people) it's so comfortable and welcoming and everyone just seems like they have been there forever. Perfect coffee (Campos), brilliant scrambled eggs, generous serving of sourdough and really great service.

Ray B.

Yelp
The food is very good here and the staff make your visit even better with their attention to your needs. Free filtered water on tap for you to help yourself. Lovely fresh salad display and sandwiches. You can order from a menu as well.

Yelp
'My Fav' is awesome. It's filling & delicious. The staff are always friendly & the service is exceptional. Such a cool little spot.

Yelp
Food and coffees are as good as usual but we got served from a really grumpy waitress not even saying thank you or enjoy! just dropping the plaits at the table with a face as this is the last place she wanted to be.. Hospitality mate you have to be happy and friendly all the time that's part of your job even if you are having a shit day .. Didn't make me feel amazing being here today ..
