I like this place for many reasons. Ambience is good. Atmosphere was fun and chilled and warm. Food are tasty. They have 4-5 food stalls and they all taste good. Got good beers, both imported and locally brewed. The seatings are spacious and large. All are good here.

This place is a gem in Harajuku! Great atmosphere and amazing variety of vendors for beer, snacks and meals. Great for dates and meeting or hanging out with friends. I was able to meet a friend here which we shared a vegetable snack with a savoury miso paste! Delicious!

Absolutely love thus little hideout. Good for a great, unpretentious bite or drink and chill. Fantastic selection of food and drinks in a cool, laid back atmosphere. Caters to vegans, vegetarians and “others”. It is not cheap, but well worth it for the quality you get. Highly recommended !!!!

Great place for food and drinks. Super laid-back, casual and friendly atmosphere. Wide variety of drinks and ethnic foods. A great place to meet up with friends! Just near exit A4 of Omotesando Station.

Outdoor foodcourt with changing vendors (I think they change it every half year?!). Amazing atmosphere. If you're done with shopping, drop by and have some nice food and beers.

Google
Great outdoor hangout place. It gets very busy during the summer. I like going there to get my work done or just hang out with friends. They close early, @10pm. I wish they close later!

Yelp
Great little outdoor space to have a drink! Hip area with drinks and small plates. Tons of options. So cute with the little cafe lights on the street! Super close to the Omote-Sando station. I had a Ginger Lemon Highball from Brooklyn Ribbon Fries and the drinks was perfectly balanced. I would come back 10/10 if we were going to be here longer. Recommend for any travelers.

Yelp
If you're looking for something a little different, you might take interest in Commune 246. When I saw pictures of the various food trucks online, I put it on my to-do list. I'm a sucker for food trucks and community spaces like this, where you can see lots of people sitting around with drinks, chatting for at least over an hour. I came with two friends, and together we oohed and ahhed over menus and drinks and food truck designs. We all ordered vegan food from one of the trucks, and I specifically got a falafel sandwich because I hadn't had it in a while, and you really can't go wrong! There are tons of seats using recycled material, so it's quite interesting and maybe not the most comfortable. I'm still for this though, because it's a great idea and gives the space cool decor without even trying. The falafel sandwich I had was really tasty and messy, but overall I felt satisfied. I probably could have eaten another one. I did have to pull off some of the hummus because sometimes I have allergic reactions to it, but what I did taste of it was so good! Because these are smaller shops, I think it's a bit more pricey than normal, but I kind of brush that off because it's expected of smaller, independent businesses. I would definitely come back to this space to try out the other food trucks and recommend it to anyone who wants to crawl away from the city streets for a bit and try something new.

Yelp
A fantastic little place; a little taste of Bohemian Berlin or Brilliant Bristol, in Tokyo. Interesting, and delicious, food options from multiple vendors with an equally adventurous range of drinks. There's usually something cool going on and if not, just soak up the atmosphere and chilled beats. Despite the little tobacco bar near the entrance being oddly cool, and a real classical curiosity, the place does lose a star for the lax smoking policy, though to be fair that's kind of normal in Japan. In summary: Hip to the beat with plenty to eat, no doubt go check what it's all about! (Ed. So lame)

Yelp
Just a super cool place to hangout after work, with a selection of food-trucks, bars, and food-stands. It's a 2-3 min walk from Omotesando Station exit A5. I come here every Friday night for an event called Hanakin: Shakaijin Hangouts to meet and hangout with young professionals in Tokyo. The place isn't that well known, which is a waste because there's not many places like it. If you've ever been in SF, it's similar to OFF-THE-GRID Food Truck events. On Friday nights, the place is packed with a ratio of 5:5 Japanese to Internationals. The staff working in these restaurants are also very friendly. We talk alot while waiting for food, and I've received discounts many times. Don't worry if it rains too! although the shops and benches are outdoors, they have this huge tarp that covers the entire seating area. Definitely one of the top spots to recommend during spring/summer!

Shawn D.

Yelp
(Vegan review) This place is my spring/summer/Fall go to! Think of this as a set of semi permanent food trucks/huts. (The move around) PLENTY OF VEGAN OPTIONS! There is a totally vegan stand call Cori, that serves up soy nuggets (my favorite), Falafel, smoked Tofu sandwiches, and refreshing drinks. The Hawaiian hut has a vegan plate for the days that Cori is closed and the Brooklyn ribbon fries has some vegan options as well. Cori is great and the fried soy nuggets are to die for.

Celine L.

Yelp
Dope beer garden! Super nice spot to chill and look around at items being sold. There is no open container law so you can leave with your drink as well. Definitely would recommend coming if you're in the area! We had so much fun looking at everything and chilling there.

Yelp
Cool outdoor area with various stands for food, drinks (such as blue moon), etc. I really liked this place! Super hip. It reminded me of a less crowded, better decorated version of off the grid in SF.

Alex M.

Yelp
It's as describe a little bit of Portland, Oregon in Tokyo. They have classes on various topics as well, although I wasn't around long enough to dig in and see what was available (if at all) in English. I loved the ribbon fries, spiral cut from a potato!

Karl H.

Yelp
This place is awesome, like a slice of Portland in the middle of Tokyo. There's over a dozen small food stalls, with offerings ranging from bratwurst to freshly-cut potato chips. If you're feeling it, you can even get a Brooklyn Lager. Incredible. It's an open-air market, so outdoor seating can be chilly in the winter. Fortunately, there's a heated tent at the rear of the concourse with plenty of space. The crowd ranges from hip expats to business men relaxing over a beer. The music, somewhat predictably, is Shibuya-kei, and there appears to be a stage for live performances. Despite what you might read, global hipster culture has been in decline since about 1999. It's been mainstreamed and corporatized by countless coffee conglomerates, discount fashion outlets and mixology bars. At the Commune, however, you can still get a taste of what made it so great, and necessary, a few years back.

Yelp
This place is like a Japanese version of the food trucks in Portland. There was even a vegan stand with felafel, rice plates, and sandwiches. There's lots of different food stands to choose from and some have American beers. There's a tobacco and coffee food truck, a potato food truck, one that had "American steak" and lots more. Four of us went and all enjoyed it. It was close to the station and easy to find - it says "commune 2" on the sign. The only negative is that it is outdoors, and we went in summer so it was pretty hot and there wasn't much shade.

Yelp
Probably one of the coolest places I hung out at in Tokyo. Definitely come here on Friday night. This place was HAPPENING. It's setup like a bit of a beer garden. Various food vendors setup throughout the venue with bars for drinks mixed in. DJ and music in the back with people dancing and two girls on roller skates busting a move to the music. Was so much fun. Everyone just seemed to be there to chill and have a good time - drama free. I took a look around and I'd say the Thai place was the best food option. In particular I'd recommend the curry two-ways, and their spring rolls. If you wander all the way to the back, there's a rear exit that leads onto a side street. Good little fancy bakery for dessert to chase the Thai food. The bakery is just out and to the left (across from Blue Bottle). There's also a couple benches back there to hangout if you need a break from the party. If you're in Omodesando, definitely check this place out, especially on a Friday night!

Yelp
Yes it's hip, english speaking friendly and a great place to relax with friends and have some nice drinks and food. The variety of food trucks and stalls available makes it easy for everyone to find something to eat. One of my recommendations are the vegetarian soy nuggets and the sangria (different stalls). You order a bunch of different things and some brings it out to wherever you're sitting and some wants you to come back in a couple pf minutes when the food is ready. It's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and simply a great place for spending some time on a nice summer evening. Only downside is that they close at 22 so better have plans of where to move on to afterwards.

Yelp
I was super excited to try this place when I first walked into it. There are a bunch of different food stands and plenty of outdoor seating. I ended up trying the gyoza truck. I got an order of sriracha cheese gyoza for 600 yen, which is sort of pricey for only 5 pieces. I noticed all the other stands were like that - most items were under 1000 yen but the portions were small. The dumplings are pretty good, especially if you like spicy food, and the presentation is really cute. It's a nice spot to hang out with friends if you just want something small to eat, but I think overall I would prefer some of the more traditional shops on the streets where you can get a more filling meal for less.

Pete M.

Yelp
Fantastic beer garden & food truck spot in Omotesando, only a couple minutes walk from the station. There are plenty of food options to please diverse tastes, including a vegan option (a rarity in Tokyo). Its a lot of fun to hang out here and try an assortment of different foods and beers. Also very kid friendly. That said, it can get very crowded, so you might have to squeeze around a small table until a nearby table leaves.

Brian H.

Yelp
Probably good, but it was closed. Yelp doesn't seem to have status correctly in Tokyo.

Jessie L.

Yelp
cannot image that hidden in between metro's tall building, so fantasying and exotic, you should never miss out this spot for take a short break in Omodesando!

Yelp
Loved Commune 246. As others have mentioned, it's like a big casual beer garden with plenty of food and drink options from the food trucks. Pimms, sangria and mojito's all made for a fabulous evening. My partner and I went on a Saturday evening and while there was a great buzzing ambiance with a big mix of locals and tourists, there was always 1-2 tables available.

Ato B.

Yelp
Cool spot where food trucks, bars and coffee shops attract an eclectic mix of locals, tourists and expats in search of comfort food and cheap drinks. The food truck serving vegan food was my favorite. At nights they host concerts or different thematic festivals.

Yelp
A charming and vibrant mini village of artistically designed, caravan style, food stalls. Enjoy some tasty food, including organic and vegan options, and drinks under the festive, bunting toting, dome. Complete with stage for extra seating and the occasional band and DJ. Very laid back, friendly, and artistic. A perfect break from the bustle of Omotesando.
