Just left with a few special items from Communion the other day! I consider Communion my “special treat” store — for some, the items may be out of budget, but they are AMAZING quality and last forever! I always go to Communion when I have just a little extra cash to splurge on something I know I’ll wear forever! The two gals working were so helpful and made my shopping experiences a breeze! I went to check out the sale denim and left with two full priced pieces (one for me, one as a gift). Follow their Instagram for updates on their sales and new products!

This store is in a perfect location, it’s beautiful from the outside and much more lovelier on the inside. When I walked in i immediately welcome by a knee high very soft and friendly poodle! And the welcomed in my two wonderful ladies. I was looking for a pair shorts, I shown the latest styles and fabrics and colors! I am on a budget so I ask for a clearance rack, I checked it out and found the perfect pair! 50% off. The atmosphere, energy, environment plus friendly faces made this shopping experience one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for being kind and knowledgeable about your product and life in general, I will be back !

Chic af. Whoever the buyer is for this place is on point. I always find a high quality item here I want to buy. It’s not cheap, but that’s why it’s actually good. Get your cheap crap on TikTok or a thrift bin. Come to communion if you actually want to look good. It’s also notable that they have a good selection for men, which is hard to come by these days.

I've bought numerous things here over the years - the staff is extremely helpful and I'm always inspired by the rotating brands they have. They seem to curate all of their clothing in seasonal color palettes that are very cohesive with the other pants, shirts, shorts, and socks that they have at any given moment. Favorite place for Men's clothes in the SE.

I had an exchange to make and Paloma was joy to communicate with. She was very prompt and always clear. I wish I lived in Portland so I could shop in person. Dealing with her confirmed for me the value of shopping at small stores rather than chains - the human touch matters!

Google
I’m truly obsessed with this shop! I love that they stock trendy, quality and yet affordable brands, as well as having a full range of sizes from S-XL (speaking only to men’s items). While I’m normally a Nordstrom shopper, I really appreciate the curated selection (communion has introduced me to a few new brands already) and it feels so much better to “shop local.” My new go-to for quality menswear! Thanks, Communion!!

They always have a great selection of mens wear from jackets to underwear they got it. The staff is so helpful and every time I go in, I get the feeling they really enjoy helping customers choose the right color and fit. Well done management and staff keep up the good work!

Google
The staff gave off a weird vibe. I felt like I was being profiled for being young or didn't look like their typical shopper. It was like I didn't belong in the store and it was off putting. It was mostly the older staff (especially the older white woman), the youngest woman that helped me was very friendly. They have cute sweaters and jeans but the service just made me feel uncomfortable. They only lightened up once I was at checkout but it didn't seem genuine at that point.

Yelp
Communion has introduced me to so many stylish, high quality brands. Their selection is perfectly sized so you can easily browse through all of their offerings. Not to mention thoughtfully curated. Whenever I'm shopping here, the employees are quick to offer help and/or recommendations. While the prices aren't cheap, I believe they're fair considering the quality of the clothing. There are also always plenty of sale items to peruse!

Yelp
The Portland boutiques I used to shop for stylish men's clothes at have all closed (Blake, Poker Face, that sweet little one on Albina) but Communion is here to help me out. Been here once and scored a stylish hat. Staff was friendly. Looking forward to returning soon and picking out an outfit.

Yelp
There aren't a ton of places to buy quality men's clothes in Portland, so I've always appreciated Communion for their selection. It's an up-to-date and well-curated collection that always has me wanting to spend way too much money so that I can look my best. Instead, I usually just buy a piece or two. I leave with a lighter wallet but feeling good about my personal style. While not inexpensive, I don't find this place to be overpriced. I've seen many of these brands at other stores around the US and the prices seem pretty comparable. Also they have great accessories and the sale section in the back usually has some nice finds. Customer service has always been positive, too. I'm a fan of this store and will continue to shop here.

Yelp
If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out. The staff's always super welcoming and helpful. The selection itself is just *chef's kiss* and I always end up buying something whenever I go- which sucks for my wallet, but at least I know I'm bringing home some good quality clothes :-)

Yelp
Shopped here pre pandemic. As soon as they said they were limiting people still, I am vaccinated, I was not going to wait outside and left. Praying for Portland to wake up and get back to the wonderful city it once was. Seems like people are still brain washed and distracted.

Yelp
Peaked in, saw manager not wearing mask. Went in, got yelled at about mask by manager literally not even wearing a mask. What a clown show. Good luck with your beanies or whatever lol

Yelp
Came into the store today and the staff was lovely. They helped me pick out a couple of items and were super helpful. There's a great selection of mens product, especially if you want to add some elevated basics into your wardrobe.

Yelp
Charging premium prices implies a premium product, and in my view a merchant has a responsibility to uphold that product if they expect to maintain their reputation. I spent over $150 on a pair of jeans I considered an investment that lasted me just over two months. When I spoke to Communion on the phone, it was suggested (though in fairness not promised) that my jeans could be replaced. I rushed to the store before they closed only to be met curtly by a manager who showed almost no empathy for the situation, and needless to say, offered no replacement. I'm not usually the type to be a tough customer or leave a bad review, but my experience at Communion ended exceptionally badly. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Yelp
We went in here because the attractive woman at the window, who was doing a little light cleaning, was sort of flirting with my cousin. Almost an hour later, he had two complete outfits, a connection to his alma mater but no phone number from the cute chick. It was only her second day working and my cousin isn't an easy customer. Fun customer, yes. For the most part we were the only ones in the store so two women were trying to find outfits for him. His style is usually Upper Playground. This was an upgrade. Nice clothes, but spendy. If and when I need to upgrade my wardrobe, and have the money to spend, I can see coming here. There were some nice clothes, a couple sweaters and some really nice buttondowns that I liked. The women were good about putting together two good outfits for him that worked to his style. Nice place. Go Ohio U!

Yelp
It can be difficult to find a Men's clothing store but Communion is definitely the spot to go. Brand selection is on point, price is very reasonable and the staff is always helpful.

Yelp
This place is the kind I avoid going to regularly-- tons of cute things, very trendy and classy with prices to go along with that. Communion quickly sets itself aside because their sales are great, and their staff is incredible. Every single girl here was gorgeous and genuinely having a good time being at work. I have worked retail-- it is a horrible job with little gain for the employees. These girls made me want to apply. These little shops can make you feel really unwelcome fast-- but I tried on and looked at everything and they were upbeat and friendly the entire time. Thanks for the RVCA tank, ladies! Keep up the good work.

Yelp
Communion has men's and women's clothing, and a small collection of accessories like wallets and belts. For men, they carry RVCA and WESC. Minimal clean atmosphere. Great prices on these lines. Colors run to white, black and grey, though not entirely. If you remember the Local 35 store, this one is run by their previous manager, refilling the void. Good clothes stuff!

Yelp
I love a easily fashionable store. The people that work there were amazingly nice and I loved the selection of clothes :) I like trendy but high quality clothes, and communion has it :)

Yelp
This place is AMAZING. Frances spent literally an hour hand picking clothes for an important meeting and I love them. They really take the care and time, and are fun.

Yelp
Honestly, I would have rather given them no stars. Walked slowly around the whole store and not one of their 4 employees greeted me or asked if I needed health. Either they have shitty customer service or they don't welcome fat people. Disappointed.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite place to buy clothing in PDX. Great service, awesome clothing lines and style. I love this store and the fact that they have sales just makes them that much more amazing.

Howard L.

Yelp
Found some great brands for myself. :) - Not to mention the owner is hilarious! 5 stars all the way.

Yelp
Lovely place with a warm welcoming staff. There clothes were nice and with reasonable prices. If I lived in Portland this would be my go to stop for quality clothes and excellent prices.

Yelp
Out of the ashes of Local 35, Communion certainly wins the break-up game. As compared to Machus on Burnside (the other former co-owner of Local 35), this stores branding and pick of each seasons trends are spot on. From the jewelry and accessories to the mens and ladieswear. Nice work Communion, you make me wish I made A LOT more money.

Yelp
My friend and I recently moved from New York City to Portland, and were recommended to try Communion as we were having trouble finding brands and boutiques that fit our style. It was a great recommendation! And not only did we find really attractive and high-quality clothes, but the sales girls were super attentive and had a ton of great advice about Portland in general. Thank you so much, ladies!

Yelp
Communion carries really great urban, chic, young clothes. Which is sometimes hard to find in Portland. RVCA and Bridge & Burn, if only they carried Nixon too...

Yelp
This store in unbelievable. I bought a pair of sweatpants last night less than 16 hours ago. I took them home, wore them around the house for less than 2 hours and noticed how badly they stretched. When I say they stretched, they went from a nice form fitting sweatpants to completely baggy and loose on my legs......in less than 2 hours. Terrible quality. So I went back in this morning to return them for store credit as the receipt specifically states that there are zero refunds, but if tags are on the item and receipt is hand, you can return them for store credit. I was planning on swapping them for store credit and maybe getting a beanie or a shirt instead. The store's owner is the one who sold me the sweats last night, and she was the one who greeted me when i walked in this morning. I told her I wore them for 2 hours and they stretched terribly so I wanted to swap them for something else. Her response was "well they didn't stretch for me" OK GREAT, they did for me and I'd like to return them and get something else. She gave me an attitude then started giving me all the reasons I couldn't return them for store credit. THE TAGS ARE STILL ON THEM, I HAD THE RECEIPT AND YOU SOLD THEM TO ME LESS THAN 16 HOURS AGO. WTF LADY. YOU ARE A BUSINESS OWNER. YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION IS NOT SELLING CLOTHES, IT IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS. I've spent prolly 2-3 thousands bucks in the store on and off over the last 3 years give/take. You just proved that you don't care about your customers at all. I've never had such a terrible experience from a retailer. You have lost my business for good. HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT. and by the looks of others comments, you have done this to others as well. Do yourself a favor bite the bullet and just close down, with this type of customer service you won't last much longer in the hyper competitive retail clothes biz. I shop and buys things all over the world. I am very much a consumer. My experience was SO BAD i felt i needed to dust off this yelp account which I haven't used for years. That is how bad of a taste this store owner left in my mouth.

Yelp
This store offers a wide range of independent, modern designers highlighting a good number of local Portland brands. I always discover new lines I was not familiar with and find myself coveting numerous unique items in the store. If my budge was unlimited, my closet would be filled with Communion finds; but for now I have to demonstrate discipline and target one or two key pieces that I am seeking to add to my clothing and accessory collection. Communion never disappoints.

Nick F.

Yelp
Communion is very well thought-out. Everything is curated here; the clothes, the music, the interior design. Very tasteful. Brixton, RVCA and Lifetime is the style of men's clothes you can expect to find. And the owner is super friendly!

Ben P.

Yelp
Great selection of men's clothing! Favorite store in Portland for sure. Hard to not spend a lot every time I go.
