🏛️ Como House, Melbourne – A Bit of a Letdown This Time
We visited Como House on a Tuesday, hoping to explore its historic interiors and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately, the house itself wasn’t open for viewing, which was disappointing as that had been a highlight we were looking forward to.
The entrance we found into the property felt a little neglected—likely impacted by the high winds the day before—but it did set a slightly underwhelming tone. The exterior of the house looked tired and could really benefit from a freshen-up to match its heritage charm.
On the upside, the café was open and provided a cosy refuge from the cool weather. It was lovely to warm up and regroup there. We wandered through parts of the garden, which had potential but didn’t quite deliver the wow factor on this occasion.
Overall, our visit felt underwhelming, though we acknowledge this may not always be the case. With a bit of upkeep and clearer access, Como House could easily shine as the elegant destination it’s known to be.
