"Set the scene for us. What stands out to you as you arrive at this hotel?Because Bali is a tropical island, there's a misperception that it's all about beaches. Yet there’s little more dramatic than the magical tableau of Ubud's jungle scenes. At COMO Uma Ubud, coconut palms and banyan trees frame 46 rooms, suites, and villas, all designed by Koichiro Ikebuchi, offering an intimate, hyperlocal experience. At the heart of the resort is an 82-foot jade-green pool with rooms and eating areas staggered across the snug plot. Clever planning, fresh interior design, private courtyards, and infinity-edge plunge pools make the property feel modern—yet totally at home in Ubud. What's the vibe?"Uma" is Sanskrit for "home" or "house," and this hilltop resort overlooking the Tjampuhan Valley, the little sister to Como Shambhala Estate, does the residential vibe well. So what does that mean for the rooms and villas themselves? Each charming, light-filled villa has an outdoor courtyard sandwiched between living spaces, as well as stylish bathrooms with every amenity and modern convenience you can think of. What are the food options at the resort? Anything we should be sure to try?Uma Cucina serves pizzas and pastas. Kemiri, further into the property, does a gorgeous breakfast buffet and Indonesian food for dinner. You can also enjoy meals on the deck just above the Uma Pool Bar. After we've freshened up and refueled, what else should we be sure to check out on the property?Riffing on the spirit of COMO Shambhala, yoga and wellbeing is a huge focus here; an open-air pavilion hosts different sessions and therapies. Who else can we expect to see here?Younger couples and adventurous honeymooners. How about the surrounding area? What's the best way to explore the neighboring sights?Local hosts lead guided walks through rice fields and forests, and tours of temples, galleries, and museums. You can also visit the Ubud Market and browse silk sarongs, wicker handbags, and other hand-made accessories. Sounds delightful. If you could give this hotel a sort of tagline, what would it be?This is a tranquil boutique hotel in the spiritual heart of Bali." - Juliet Kinsman

We had a fantastic experience at Como Uma Ubud. The staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. They learned our names on the first day and were incredibly knowledgable of the food ingredients in support of my partners nut allergy. They went above and beyond and we cannot wait to visit more Como hotels in the future. We booked a trip with an external provider and the reception staff arranged a breakfast bundle which would be safe for my partner to eat whilst out on the trip with no nuts without us even asking for it! Yande, Made at breakfast, and Yari at the pool bar were fantastic and extra friendly. All the staff were just great. Thank you for a great stay.

We had 4 nights in a Garden Villa at the Como Uma Ubud and it was absolutely wonderful. Such a peaceful and beautiful hotel outside the madness of Ubud town. The garden villa was stunning - really luxurious in the design of the space and the bed was really big, super comfy with crisp cool bedding - a 10/10 sleep. We had 2 Coy Carp in the pond in our villa - between the bedroom and bathroom and we found them so relaxing to have around.|The hotel was immaculate and the staff were really amazing - nothing was too much trouble.|The main pool was very comfortable and the staff at the pool bar were very attentive.|The new gym was very impressive, the restaurant where breakfast was served was in such a pretty setting - so much greenery, it felt so calm. The options for breakfast were amazing - especially the ginger and honey tea and black rice pudding pots.|The hotel offers a morning walk through the Paddy Fields with one of the staff and I would really recommend you go along - well worth experiencing.|Como Uma Ubud was perfect for 3 days of luxury R&R in the jungle!

I don’t normally write reviews unless I feel really compelled to. This is my second time here and they have knocked it out of the park yet again. Having tried multiple 5 star hotels in Bali, I won’t bother staying in any other hotel in Bali again. Service is impeccable. I do not understand how they have managed to train ALL staff to this level of professionalism and service but they have. The food in the main all day dining restaurant and breakfast is simply the best I’ve had in Bali, period. It is amazing that hotel food can be this good. Having tried various tasting menus in standalone restaurants, we have concluded that the food in the hotel is far superior. We ended up having all our meals back in the hotel. In room dining is delivered piping hot to your room in 15 minutes. 🤯 I am still dreaming about the daily breakfasts, which were the best I’ve ever had in my life. Do not hesitate to stay in Como Uma Ubud. I’ll be back, hopefully sooner than later!

Our first trip back to the island since our honeymoon 30 years ago. This was the first of our two hotels and we were not disappointed. The room was excellent and the bathroom, with its outside inside shower, was fantastic. The staff were super friendly and could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was casual but with a great choice. The location, alongside the pond teeming with fish and turtles, was idyllic. The pool and bar, central to the venue, were very good and we never had an issue finding somewhere to rest and relax.|For those inclined, there were several events each day - yoga, walking, etc. - but we decided to chill in our own way. Other than by car, we did not explore the local area for food and entertainment but our stay was brief and followed a full-on stay in Singapore so we were very much ready for a little downtime. This local was ideal for us but I’m sure, had we stayed longer we would have soon ventured out to see the surrounding area.

5/5 – I’ll admit it, I’m super picky when it comes to cleanliness—especially in hotel rooms, common areas, and breakfast buffets. But COMO Ubud totally delivered. The moment I walked into my room, it was spotless. Not a single bit of dust anywhere. You can tell the staff really care and take their time with the cleaning—every corner of the place felt fresh and well-kept. What really blew me away, though, was how peaceful and green everything was. The whole resort is tucked into the jungle, and it feels like you’re staying in this hidden little sanctuary. Everything’s designed to blend in with nature—open-air hallways, lush gardens, trees everywhere, and just the sounds of birds and leaves. No traffic, no noise. Just calm. The spa was amazing too. I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had—super relaxing and set in the most serene spot. You walk out feeling like you’ve melted into the forest. The whole vibe is about wellness and slowing down, and it really shows. Service was honestly perfect. Every staff member I talked to was friendly, warm, and genuinely helpful without being over the top. It all just felt really natural. And the breakfast buffet? Incredible. Everything was fresh, tasty, and well presented. Staff were always around to make sure the setup stayed clean and that bugs didn’t get anywhere near the food, which is something I always notice and appreciate. Huge shout out to Silvi + staff (sorry for the incorrect spelling!!) for being so accomodating my random meeting that sprung upon me, and letting me use the meeting room <3

We had a beautiful stay at Como for our honeymoon! Everything was 100% perfect, except for one thing which I will get to! But first, the breakfast and bar food is absolutely delicious and you can tell everything is made with love, the service is to an extremely high standard at every touch point, and at any hour of the day - it’s gentle and relaxed and not overly formal - they have a way of making you feel like old friends who want to really look after you ♥️ The pool, bar and restaurant is beautiful, surrounded by huge green trees and fantastic cocktails and food delivered to your sunbed! We didn’t get to try any activities like yoga or gym sadly due to the length of our stay, but it all looked great and I saw lots of guests enjoying it! The one thing which let our stay down is the dampness of the beds - our first room was very uncomfortable and a humidifier sadly didn’t work - I think they struggle with the location being tropical, but it’s a pretty big issue that was a stress during our stay. I have very sensitive skin and so was probably more acutely aware of the dampness of the linens and towels. The staff were amazing and once we mentioned the issue instantly moved us to an amazing pool suite room for one night which didn’t have a damp issue, the next day we had to change again due to other guests booking that room and sadly that room bed was also fairly damp though not as bad as the first room. They did everything they could to make us comfy - but it is worth mentioning I think especially for honeymooners! Other than that the rooms are beautifully designed and very clean. If they can fix the ventilation issue with a few of the rooms then the hotel was perfect ♥️

This hotel is an oasis of peace, beauty, and thoughtful design. The entire space radiates serenity and every corner is curated with care: from the tranquil gardens to the calming rooms. What truly sets it apart is the staff: their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail are truly impeccable. The food is outstanding, with an abundance of healthy, delicious options - after eating out a few times I realized I was better off staying in (Como Cucina next-door is equally great). Their day trips and activities are also exceptional, led by attentive and well-prepared staff who tailor the experience to your pace and interests. Everything felt curated without ever being over the top. I left feeling rested, nourished, and deeply grateful.

We just checked out of the hotel after a 4-night stay at the wonderful COMO Uma Ubud. There are so many great things at this hotel, it’s hard to list them all. From reception to house cleaning, the staff have been very kind and helpful. They also shown a genuine interest in our experience and provided great recommendations on local spots. Some of the things we love: - all of the staff!! I can’t say enough good things about the team that works here. - the breakfast was simply top notch, lots of options to choose from plus a rotating daily special (I highly recommend the porridge). Staff member would also accommodate special request (e.g. half portion, dietary restrictions, etc.) - the morning walk to the rice field is also a wonderful experience. Our guide is very passionate about Bali and the situation with waste management. I am hopeful that Bali will be a better place with people like him. - the morning yoga class was fantastic. The instructor provided proper instruction and gave feedback for the correct posture. We look forward to our next stay at a COMO property!
