Compass del Sur

I booked a single room expecting a private bathroom experience. In practice, the bathroom was located outside the room, and sound insulation was extremely poor. I could clearly hear noise from other rooms and common areas, which made it impossible to have privacy or rest properly. To clarify, this review reflects my experience during the stay and is unrelated to the refund policy. I am sharing this for travelers who value quiet and private space so they can decide if this accommodation suits their needs.

Great hostal, really clean and comfortable, we had a very nice, quiet and spacious room. It is a traditional, wooden house, very well renovated. The landlords were really helpful with a warm welcome. It is like 5 min walk from the center but much quieter than the center of the city. The breakfast is delicious! You can make your own meals in the (very clean) kitchen and they offer a laundry service. We stayed 5 nights and it felt like home :) And we made a trail around the Osorno volcano (4h walk) with Mauricio from Compass del Sur who likes to share his interest about plants and birds: it was a fantastic day. We will come back for sure, we highly recommed this place.

We loved this hostel! It was cosy, very clean and had a great kitchen. The staff were all super friendly, and they do a great breakfast! Would highly recommend!

Superb. A perfect welcome from Mauro. Hostel in a great location, in the center. Beautiful, bright and clean rooms. Wide and comfortable common areas. The services offered are very complete, from meals to tours, I did one and it was perfect. Can't ask for more

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at over 30 countries. Clean, modern, warm, and homey. There is plenty of natural light, motion sensors for lights in common walkways, a big and fully equipped kitchen (sharp knives and clean spaces), double glazed windows, and clean bathrooms. ||The common areas are nice with areas to work and chill. Breakfast was a nice touch. Staff are really helpfull. The beds are comfortable and warm.

Highly recommended. The staff, especially Molly, was very helpful. We had problems with a hire car and she made phone calls and sent messages to get it all sorted out for us. The breakfast is great, best coffee after a month in Chile. Easy walk down pedestrian walkway into town

We stayed in our van and used the facilities of the hostel. It’s a really cozy and clean place, with a good location. The WiFi connection is good. Despite this, we think it was pricey. We have one small remark. They said there would be a separate bathroom for the people who are sleeping on the camping, which would never be more than four people (us included). But in fact everybody was using this bathroom.
