We had an outstanding weekend at the Compass Rose Lodge. From the moment we arrived, the entire property felt peaceful, beautifully designed, and thoughtfully cared for. The staff was welcoming and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overbearing. Every part of the lodge has a quiet, refined charm — from the warm common spaces to the clean, comfortable rooms that feel both modern and cozy. The setting is incredible. It’s the perfect place to relax, reset, and feel tucked away without being remote. We loved the atmosphere, the attention to detail, and the overall vibe. You can tell the owners really take pride in creating a memorable experience for their guests. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommend the Compass Rose Lodge to anyone looking for a peaceful, top-notch getaway.

Was a great lodge with amazing sights! Will definitely come back! Breakfast was great with the local coffee shop! Bed and room was clean and cozy! It was very clean! Service is friendly and communicative!

WOW. This place rules. Had my 40th birthday party there recently and everything was perfect. The GM, Ashely, was superb. She answered all our questions and made sure we had a great time. The Halo astronomy experience was amazing, even with a larger group. Both guides were funny and very informative. The rooms were beautiful, the private room was cozy and the town is cute. Truly, this was a wonderful experience and the Compass Rose Lodge helped me have a very memorable birthday. Thanks to everyone that we worked with. Stay here, have a party, visit, whatever you need to do to come check it out.

We had the best night! We got Thai food takeout and spent the night at the hotel. The staff were lovely and the room was amazing! Lots of space and great design. The beds were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast sandwich and coffee before we hit the road and went skiing at snowbasin. We would love to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Compass lodge was amazing. Everyone was so nice, the rooms were great and Scott at the Observatory was very knowledgeable and made our tour an enjoyable experience. Thanks to everyone. We will return… Oh and I be of the best things was how quiet it was😊

Compass Rose Lodge is perfection! Just go and have a relaxing and wonderful experience! The HALO experience made the weekend for my partner, who loves all things astronomy, stargazing at its best! The guide was knowledgeable and made the experience so fun. |We went for an anniversary trip but we will go again just for the quiet and solitude! The bed was comfy, the complimentary breakfast was tasty, the staff was above excellence. So many good things to say about this experience! Thank you Compass Rose Lodge for an amazing weekend. Stayed here for a couple days and it was awesome. Really nice hotel and great staff. The sky was too overcast to see anything at the observatory but the Astronomer was really nice and very knowledgeable.

We were amazed by this superb lodge. The staff were just great. We loved our stay. It's the best place for the Fourth of July.

Cutest little place! We were looking for somewhere new and an adventure and it was just that. It's brand new - pre Covid and I'm so glad it made it through. There are only 15 rooms total, which means less people! I love that hahaha It felt very country and like we were out there alone, not crowded or over stuffed. The rooms were so sleek and minimal, with the little farmhouse touch. Just my taste. The icing on the cake was the observatory. My husband found this place and knew He'd get bonus points because of the tour. Our tour guide Steve was the best! He had all the added humor to make it fun and interesting at the same time. I can't wait to go back and take my kids. They will geek out more than me..... maybe. The lobby was so peaceful and quiet I wanted to stay forever. And the teepees outside were just the extra fun cherry on top. Everyone should get away to compass rose. You'll wanna stay forever.... Or at least return soon.

What a gem. This lodge is stunning, welcoming, peaceful, and charming. The entire crew is friendly and always willing to help and assist. I was able to meet the owner, Jeff. What a cool guy! And Ashley! The GM, what a peach. I highly recommend this lodge even if it's for a few nights. The rooms are beautifully designed, the observatory is so neat, and the tipis are gorgeous. If you're lucky enough to get Scott for your tour guide for the observatory - you're in for a real treat. The town is darling... I could go on and on. Don't pass this place up, you'll be sorry!

My wife and I decided to escape Ogden for an evening and decided to stay the night in Huntsville. After reviewing the lodging options in the Valley, we decided to pay a visit to The Compass Rose Lodge, and we were not disappointed. We loved the modern farmhouse loft aesthetic. It's a little rustic, but with clean modern lines. It's like Apple Store meets mountain lodge. The room (along with the rest of the lodge) was spotless, and the bed, super comfy. I loved all the small details, like the log gage rack is solid wood and real leather, and the chairs in the room were also real leather. One of the cool details was how the bathroom mirror has a heated center, so it doesn't fog up while you shower. Each side table next to the bed had two USB plugs too, which is always appreciated. Our complimentary breakfast was enjoyed in the cafe. My wife had an amazing chocolate muffin, and I had a breakfast sandwich made from a delicious sausage patty and egg on a fresh toasted croissant. And the coffee was fresh and spectacular! We were very interested in the observatory, but were too tired to partake of the tour, so we will have to swing by another night to check it out.

We decided to stay at this hotel while skiing at SnowBasin and we were beyond impressed. This hotel is like a ski museum. The owner (Jeff) explained each unique artifact in detail. Jeff allowed us to tour a tepee (which you can reserve), tour the observatory, and roast s'mores outside at the fire pit! The hotel rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. The breakfast was delivered to our door early and we had yogurt, banana chocolate chip bread, orange juice, and a chocolate bread. For dinner, we went to the Shooting Star Saloon (the oldest saloon west of Mississippi). We HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone/everyone traveling in this area. We will definitely be returning.

Stayed here for 6 nights as I was on a business trip. I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The decor is beautiful the sheets, bedding, pillows were all so comfortable. The soaps and lotions are all Beekman. We had a breakfast delivered every morning at no extra charge. There is an observatory as part of the hotel and they give tours for 10 dollars. It's a great little quiet town so if you're looking for some amazing night life this might not be the town for you. There are however a ton of outdoor activities to be had. The staff is incredibly welcoming. I give it five stars

Had a great breakfast here at the compass rose lodge in Huntsville Ogden Huntsville I'm sorry Huntsville Utah beautiful setting great food great chai teas and coffees they're super cognizant of the whole sanitation infection control thing super impressed so I would say check it out by stars for sure

This place is outstanding, almost hard to figure out where to start. We've stayed in boutique hotels around the world and after only our first night we're in love with the Compass Rose. The owner, Jeff, greeted us on arrival and the vibe was immediately right. Drip coffee from the lobby coffee shop was served as we checked in. Room exceeded expectations. Crisp, clean, cozy. High end without even a hint of snobby. Just perfection. Then after a day our and about we get back and Natalie (incredible GM), Dakota (owner's son) poured us wine and then Reagan showed us a world class observatory. Okay some may come for the observatory but WE DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS HERE. Name a cooler amenity than that. Like rotating silo roof, discovering-new-celestial-objects freaking observatory. The vibe. The town. The owners. The staff. The proximity to world class skiing.... Show me a better place.

If you are visiting anywhere near this area you should treat yourself to a stay here! This lodge is amazing! It's quiet, spotless and so perfectly decorated. Great place for couples and an easy drive to go skiing or sightseeing. We are looking forward to the next time we can return!

Awesome little hotel right near Snowbasin! We got coffee and a continental breakfast every morning then headed up to the mountain. Cool tipis to hang in when we got back with just our group!

Booked this property through a 3rd party website for my family on a 2-night ski stay. Unfortunately,​ the website somehow messed up the room booking leaving our family of 6 high and dry. Natalie and her team quickly adjusted and stayed in contact to make sure our stay went according to plan. Kudos! The property itself is gorgeous. From the outside,​ it looks like a restored Barn and Silo. Inside it's tasteful modern with rustic western flair that completely suits the locale. There is a coffee shop attached that serves artisanal roasted coffees, pastries, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. The silo hides an incredible secret of a fully functioning observatory. Staff was very gracious and took us for a tour of the telescope. Our room was spacious and contained 2 bunks for a total of 4 queen beds. Very clean with matching decor to the rest of the property. This is a small property, though big for the town, right in the middle of Huntsville. Though the town itself is relatively quiet, there are several dining​ locations nearby. Check the hours as some locations are not open all days. The classic Shooting StarSaloon​n is only a block away and a fantastic stop for a burger; no kids though (take away available). Great spot for a summer or winter getaway. Highly recommended.

A beautiful boutique hotel, showcasing exemplary, world-class quality and personal service, filled with local artifacts and art, and containing a research-quality observatory and telescope in a dark-sky, high altitude environment. This place would be a hit in Aspen or Chamonix, but it's located in the lovely, quaint village of Huntsville, Utah, looking up on Snowbasin and Powder Mountain ski resorts and within walking distance of Pineview Reservoir. A four seasons recreational mecca. A stay here is an exquisite experience!
