Complesso Monumentale di Santa Chiara

The Santa Chiara Monastery in Naples is a true oasis of tranquility and beauty in the heart of the city. My visit to this place left me with the warmest and most vivid impressions. The main attraction of the monastery is its inner courtyard, adorned with elegant columns and benches covered in painted majolica. Walking through this garden feels like stepping into a fairy tale: surrounded by lush greenery, orange trees, and blooming shrubs, you experience a sense of peace and harmony. The historical significance of the monastery is also impressive. Built in the 14th century, it has witnessed many events, including destruction during World War II and subsequent restoration. Today, Santa Chiara is not only a place of spiritual retreat but also an open-air museum where you can learn a lot about the culture and history of Naples. I highly recommend everyone planning a trip to Naples to visit this amazing monastery. Here, you can enjoy the silence and beauty, take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, and simply spend time in a pleasant setting.

A must stop if you’re in Naples, this church has a lot of history and is older than most nations in the world, the cloister walls are covered in beautiful artwork and the halls hold so much history. The columns in the middle are perfect for photos.

Such a hidden treasure. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and the plaques they have on display are super informative and interesting. Definitely recommend visiting whilst in Naples

Beautiful place, should have planned to spend more time here. Morning or evening is preferred for better lighting. It might be hard to take pictures without others in the background, though.

The entry was affordable, 7€ per adult and 5€ for students. There's multiple things to be seen and admired such as the termal baths located at the archeological site, religious sculpture and paintings and a beautiful garden. There's also an audio guide but for those that don't have headphones or don't want to hold their phone at the ear all day, there's a video room explaining the history of the complex.

Mostly destroyed during the world war, it’s a restored gem that shouldn't be missed. A peaceful oasis amidst the bustling city, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a moment of reflection. The cloisters are simply stunning, with vibrant colors and charming details. There is also a small archeological site and museum, included in the ticket price. Definitely worth a visit!

A place of calm in the hearth of Napels. It's not so big but we still spend 1h30 at the place looking at all the decorations. There is an audio guide if you want more information. The museum and excevationsite are included in the 7 euros entry. They both aren't spectacular but nice little extras. The line went fast with us. Only 3min wait for like 15 people.

This is the Monumental complex of Santa Chiara. Located just at the back of the Basilica Santa Chiara itself. Entrance is €6. Located in the heart of Naples, serene place. This place is a religious complex dating from the 1300's. It's magnificent majolica-tiled cloister & museum. Less crowded during our visit and I definitely liked it. A good alternative to another well known museum
