"Trinkets and Tasty Treats Con Market is the other well-known traditional shopping marketing in Danang aside from Han Market. It offers a very local experience as it is where many families go shopping for their groceries and other items. Visitors can also taste a wide variety of local dishes at the food vendor stalls, a highlight for fans of Vietnamese food."

So I went to Con Market on a Friday morning during my Da Nang trip, and it was already super happening. Whole place was buzzing with life — locals, tourists, aunties bargaining, uncles loading baskets of groceries... pure organised chaos (in a good way). Apparently, this place has been around since the 1940s — it started off on a small hill (that’s why it’s called “Con”, which means hill in Vietnamese), and over the years it evolved into this mega wet/dry market right in the city. From what I read, it’s one of the oldest and most popular markets in Da Nang. Now if you’re a foodie like me, you must explore the food section. I tried bánh xèo, some grilled skewers, and a bowl of mì quảng — all under S$3. I kid you not, I could have sat there all day just ordering dish after dish. Portions not super big, so can try more things. The stall owners were friendly too — even with language barrier, still can manage with gestures and smiles. Then when you walk deeper into the market, there’s a whole section selling dried seafood (think ikan bilis, dried shrimp, cuttlefish), and another section full of nuts and snacks. I was honestly shocked at how many different types of nuts they have — cashews, almonds, macadamias, even flavoured ones like garlic and honey roasted. Great for snacking or bringing home for family/friends. Prices were pretty reasonable, especially if you buy in bulk — just be ready to haggle a bit. They’re used to tourists so no problem lah, but do bring small notes and some reusable bags if you plan to shop. Oh and pro tip — it’s hot inside, so wear light clothes and bring tissue + hand sanitiser. Also, be prepared to squeeze through narrow aisles. Not the most “comfortable” shopping experience, but it’s part of the charm. All in all, Con Market is a must-visit if you want to experience the real Da Nang. Food, shopping, local life — everything rolled into one chaotic but fun stop. Just make sure to go hungry… and maybe bring extra luggage space for all the nuts you’ll end up buying.

Alot of local Vietnamese food to choose. Delicious. Famous paper roll pork. Dumplings. Avocado drinks plenty. Still maintaining a good price and control of price. Thumb up for it. You can also get a lot of household, dried food, sourveniers and bags, toys.

I arrived here right as they opened so some stalls were still opening but some were already open. I explored for a bit and I ate at this food court area and it was a decent size and had good dishes. The market has a whole section dedicated to ingredients to buy in packs or single and the middle part is for clothing, accessories, flowers and such. The location isn’t the best as there are street restaurants and some shops but the market is genuinely in the middle of nowhere. So overall, if you’re looking for food, specific ingredients, spices, and some clothing but not much I’d recommend going here but if you’d prefer souvenirs, more clothing & shoe selection and a better location I’d go to the Han Market.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this market one day in Da Nang. It was such a delightful surprise!! The market has a variety of stalls ranging from housewares, clothing, gifts, kitchenware, produce, meat, seafood, preserved foods, fermented sauces, and so much more. There are also tiny restaurants with dishes that feature products found in the market. For example the have Bún Mắm which is a very unique dish that uses fermented ingredients. So delicious! There’s also a stand outside that makes really yummy fried bananas. Don’t forget to grab one on your way out!

Authentic local experience at Con Market! If you’re looking for a true taste of Da Nang, Con Market is the place to go. It’s bustling and full of local food stalls offering everything from banh mi, noodle soups, fresh spring rolls, to desserts and drinks – all at very affordable prices. It’s a bit chaotic and crowded, but that’s part of the charm! You’ll also find clothing, souvenirs, and local goods. Not the most touristy or polished place, but definitely a real and raw Vietnamese market vibe. Great for adventurous foodies!
