Conca d'oro

What an absolutely wonderful place! It recently upgraded with a new chef and a new owner and the food is simply amazing. Cooked with love and local seasonal ingredients - the season menu changes regularly while you can order the beloved classics (tuna tartar with orange sauce, steak tartar or risotto with truffles and Parmesan) all year round. A seriously star-chef quality preparation and presentation, but without the prices to bite. An absolute favourite!

Stopped by Rijeka on our drive down from Italy and happened to find this lovely restaurant from a google search on where to have lunch. The restaurant itself was very charming, and proper hospitality - our server was so welcoming and made our first meal in Croatia feel extra special. The fish tartare and seafood platter we ordered were very fresh, portion size was great for the two of us. Highly recommend!

Recently discovered this hidden gem, and it’s now my go-to for pizza in Rijeka. Absolutely excellent, everything was spot on. The base had the perfect texture, the flavour was rich and balanced, and the quality of the ham was top-notch. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed, tucked away in a quiet little back street, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Great service! Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates proper pizza done right.

Food good but overpriced aside the Pizzas. They speak English and German, Outside terrace rains in at heavy rain. Long service/waiter waiting times ocasionally. I rate at 2 stars because at over 35€ for food and 9€ for a cocktail (and 6€ for mineral water) that costs less on a tourist island (Krk) they still charged us 80c each for cutlery which is just absolutely inacceptable and not common in Croatia at all.

It was sooooo good that I repeated. This is a message to congratulate Chef Filip and his team in the kitchen, but also to the waiters, specially Dominik who was too kind both days I went to the restaurant. I’m not going to talk about the menu, just think of this: they appear as a suggestion in the Time Out Magazine 😉 Funny story: On my second day in this restaurant, I asked for the truffle risotto, I was doubtful as on my next day, I was going yo Pula (the region where they find most to the truffles) so, Dominik told me: try our risotto, then eat in Pula, and then come back with a comparison…. He was right to be so secure of the dishes… If I come back to Croatia, I’ll definitively have dinner here again!

Our experience at Conca d'Oro was nothing short of exceptional. The ingredients were fresh and locally sourced, and the dishes were executed to a very high standard. We enjoyed two appetizers, two main courses, a salad and ended the evening with a dessert wine – graciously offered on the house. The wine pairings recommended to us were spot-on and elevated the meal beautifully. Our server, Petra, delivered service that went far beyond expectations. She was not only highly professional but also genuinely warm and attentive. Conca d'Oro receives our highest recommendation, and we will definitely be returning.

Truely amazing experience. Got myself a T-Bone steak and the wife got beef cheek cannelloni. Finished of with Sticky Toffee pudding, granted the pudding wasn't English style but good non the less. Waitress spoke very well in English and was very chatty with a good sense of humour. Restaurant was different due to the tables being in an ally, but it had great lighting and wonderful artwork on the walls.

Excellent dinner, wonderful dishes that have a lot of depth in flavour. Service is impeccable, great attention to detail and making sure all guests feel comfortable and are enjoying themselves. Highly recommend!
