Concepción

Most symetric volcan on earth. The climb to the top is not for begginers but it can be done in a 6 hours walk. Be sure to being enough water cause the second half is pretty hard as there is no trees, only volcans rocks, but the view us awesome. Be aware : the top is usually covered by clouds so if you reach the top, you have more chance to have the breath taking view if you leave in the morning !

Volcano Concepción is very natural and beautiful, we saw monkeys 🐒 and beautiful bufferfly.

One of my fav hikes. After reading the reviews I thought that it would be very difficult but I enjoyed it a lot. We went with a guide (Puma tours Ometepe) and we took 7-8 to finish the hike. The path is well indicated and clean. We didn't get to see much in the summit because of the clouds but it was totally worth it. I enjoyed the different challenges of the trail (sand, jungle, rocks...). You should get hiking shoes and 2l of water. Physically is demanding becase it's steep but nothing crazy.

The Concepción volcano erupts, one of the two volcanoes on the island of Ometepe, in Lake Cocibolca, department of Rivas, Nicaragua 🇳🇮 The eruption occurred during midday on Thursday and produced an abundant fall of ash in the areas surrounding the volcano.

Excellent hike, and the guide we were given was very knowledgable of the volcano and the path itself and was able to identify lots of plants along the way. Prepare for the humidity at the bottom. Prepare for the exposure at the top. You should get to a point where theres a bundle of walking sticks right before the incline increases, our guide said we could take them if we wanted to...do it, take one. On the day we hiked there was a ring of cloud surrounding the summit so once we got about 3/4 of the way up visibility was quite poor, but it did nothing to lessen the experience. The last couple hundred yards can be intimidating and you get to crawling on hands and knees at times, but I still recommend this to any avid hikers who want a unique challenge. Our time round trip was just under 6 hours

Hiked to the summit. My guide did not want to go to the top so i hiked up alone wind at my back to avoid the gas cloud. 50-60 degree angle up and down. Decent was much harder on the lower body. Felt it for days after. AWESOME EXPERIENCE if you like a challenge.

Concepcion is a wonderful volcano. Once I heard a rumble and soon after a large cloud of ash was falling over the lake.
