Google
Another one for my husband to tick off from his list of record store visited. This one was surprisingly big - like a maze inside and packed full of new and used vinyl. He had a whale of a time in there and actually thought it could be the best record shop he's visited so far (and that's big as, believe me, he's visited A LOT of vinyl shops around the UK, Europe and the US!!) He must've spent a good hour in here and probably could've stayed all day, but we did have other places to go!

Google
I think I've found my new favourite record shop. Concerto in Amsterdam is a rabbit warren of brilliant music. It's been here since 1955 and seems to have gradually expanded down the street, the absorbed shops give it an appealing higgledy piggledy feel. Oddly, despite the age of the building, shopping here reminded me of browsing in the late lamented Tower records in the 80s and early 90s. Back then I was often overwhelmed by the choice of music available and I had a similar feeling in concerto. I've always felt that going into a record shop in a foreign city is like being a member of a private member's club. Good ones feel like a home from home and despite language issues (not a problem at all in Holland) records make it easy to make a connection with people.

Google
Amazing record store ! The variety is insane, they truly have everything ! There’s even a small cafe inside the record store.

I can't believe how popular this place is. So many customers looking. Wide variety of genres. Helpful staff when I requested for a particular band and thank god they have it having travelled here for a holiday.

Google
One of the best record stores in town. Good selection of genres old and new, very helpful stuff. Good prices and some music gear selection.

Google
Wow — what an incredible record store. Concerto has something for everyone, and you could easily spend hours and hours there. The shop is huge with a fantastic selection of records — truly excellent. The staff were friendly, smiling, and happy to help. Honestly, nothing but great things to say about this place. I can’t wait to come back!

Google
Quite a big selection of old and new vinyls (and all ot5hers sorts of media). Big plus are a few record players where you can preview records and you find interesting. Mostly friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Concerto was overwhelming in the best way possible. It was a maze of music/dvds and vinyl. The selection and prices were really great. I thought the store was really well organized between new and used as well as genres. Everything was easy to navigate and I enjoyed taking my time to look for something that I might not be able to find in my own local record store. They have music DVDs that I've never seen before so that was fun to look through and so many vinyl records. Really you could spend hours here looking around, but I didn't have the time. If I can, I'll get back there most definitely. The prices were really reasonable too, which makes shopping there even better because you're getting a good deal too.

Yelp
Wow, this shop blew me away with the sheer size, selection, and excellent organization. Amazing variety in all genres and healthy used section. Even a large sale section that includes good stuff.

Yelp
This is the coolest record store I've been to. It has pretty much everything you can think of when it comes to a music store. CDs, vinyl, DVDs, posters, AND! Coffee!!! Such a great place and atmosphere. They even had a dog!!!!

Yelp
This record shop is amazing, and i could have spent hours (and hundreds) before leaving. Tons of new and used stock and good prices. Definitely get your crate digging fix here.

Yelp
Really THE place for music-lovers looking for that rare cd or lp. I often check out the second hand cd's and always find a treasure. Staff is very knowledgeable. It is nearly impossible to leave the store with empty hands, As bonus, they also serve coffees and tostis. Good value for money for lunch. There are weekly free concerts in a small living room setting. Last time i saw common linnets with about 50 fans crowded in a small room. If you are wondering: this is the group that ended second place in eurovision songfestival. Well advised for a rainy sunday and saturday afternoon.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow! What a beautiful large record store with heart! We couldn't help but leave wishing home had something similar to offer. With both well and little known artist's music, a great vinyl selection and a lovely café, we spent a good hour looking around before finishing with coffees and teas by the quaint stage area surround by bookshelves. What a shop and a very lovely way to kill some time in the afternoon! Probably the biggest, most impressive record shop I've been in. Just how music shopping should be. - 'Ooohing' and 'ahhhing' and surprises round every corner!

Yelp
I don't know what it is about this place, but it's my personal freelance-heaven. The music is good, the vibe is great and I don't know what they do with the coffee but it's consistently the best cup I've had a while. Maybe they put in extra love, but whatever they do to get that velvety caffeinated goodness: I hope they never stop.

Yelp
The best record store in Amsterdam! Well, at least the best record store which has all genres. Seriously, the guys who work here know everything (a lot). You can also get yourself a cup of coffee at their coffee corner. You know, energise yourself after spending money. If ever you find yourself in a pinch, you really need to buy that record and you can't find it anywhere!? Go to concerto!

Yelp
Looking for that special music store where the selection is extensive and the prices are reasonable? I would suggest hitting up this music shop in Amsterdam. You will have the ultimate music cloud experience. Concerto is a very exceptional music shop that offers a wide variety of music. I love coming in this shop because I always walk out with a nice collection of music at a fair price. The first time I took a peek at my Dutchman music collection, I must say that I was not really feeling his ear for music, so I thought that I would enhance his music collection, by adding some Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Adele, John Mayer and Jill Scott. Music is essential for the soul, so it's good to have a familiarity with a wide variety of music.

Yelp
I hope Concerto is around for another 60 years. There's no other record store in Amsterdam that can match the selection, or the fabulous atmosphere. We all love music, and this is the place to find new inspirations, and see up and coming bands.

Yelp
Sprawling, multilevel shop filled with vinyl, stereo equipment and nooks with hidden gems. Definitely worth a stop by if you are in the city. Their vinyl selection was evenly divided between new and used; I did note that much of their new stuff were repressings of older classics, but the genre selection was broad. The basement had a bargain bin section, with prices running €2-€4 for stuff in the US you would find in dollar bins. They also carry DVDs and CDs, if you are into that sort of stuff....

Yelp
Concerto is the perfect spot for: A. Coffee consumption B. Meetings, friendly hangouts, enjoying the moment C. Fresh baked goodies D. Record store shopping Concerto is not the perfect spot for: A. Free wifi (they have it, but it's not good) I love the vibe here, love the people who work here. EXTRA CREDIT: They have concerts upstairs - which are FREE. Very small. I saw Glen Hansard and Sean Rowe perform. Crowd of about 50. Awesome. Get there. Enoy!

Yelp
In short: great coffee, great service, great atmosphere. Very nice place to work (or pretend to do so) during the week if you are done with the library. I would like to post a picture of the food I had, but I was too busy eating tot take a photo. I can attest, however, my tosti was amazing. Therefore, I can only recommend it: tosti with goat's cheese, prosciutto and tomato chutney. Should this suggestion not be to your taste, you can construct your own tosti, or pick one of their luscious pastries. As to the prices: they are very acceptable. I would even say that it is much cheaper than other places offering the same dishes, or places in the area. I only wish it had an outside with the summer months coming up.

Yelp
This is an amazing record store, with a great little bookstore and cafe at the end. One of my favorite places to hang out for lunch at in Amsterdam!

Yelp
Biggest and best record store in Amsterdam. That is a hard statement to make. I mostly see when a place gets bigger that it is ruined more. This does not seem the case with Concerto. I always get help and smiles when I'm there. The selection of old and new music, books and hardware. It's a fun place to browse for new music too. Also they server a nice coffee or pastry which you can enjoy upstairs while listening to your new music.

Yelp
I've been regularly visiting Amsterdam for record purchasing for over 10 years now. When I first visited, Concerto was nice - like a high class version of the former Fame superstore at Dam Square or England's HMV chain. with a decent but not outstanding second hand vinyl section. The latter was always my primary concern so this place didn't matter too much to me. After my most recent visit I count Concerto in my top 3 record stores in Amsterdam. Their recent reshuffle of how their stock is laid out is a revelation - new vinyl at the South entrance and into the back room. Second hand vinyl in the next section, with an absolutely glorious 7" single section - something most of Amsterdam's stores have made a focus in the last year for some reason. The rest remains as it always was - CDs both new and second hand across genres in the other two units, with a cafe at the North side that is either new or that I'd never noticed before which, when I visited, was absolutely packed with people, about 3 times more people than actually buying music in the other 4 areas combined! More than anywhere else in Amsterdam, I can say there's something for everyone here. Second hand selection is always going to be dependent on a number of factors of course, but I'm confident that next time I'm here there'll be plenty more to salivate over. A must visit.

Yelp
I've never left here empty handed. My God, they have got a LOT of stuff here, huge variety, and the prices are reasonable. Don't just run in for a few minutes, take some time to browse, you won't be disappointed. There's a Stix coffee shop right up the street, go there first, have some "coffee", then go chill in Concerto. There's a smaller CD store up the street thats got a great selection as well, the name escapes me right now...

Yelp
Amazing, comprehensive selection. Atmosphere is amazing and I'll be making repeated visits

Yelp
This is a nice shop that I don't get to often enough due to its location vs where I live/work. I go here mainly for the vinyl section and was pleased to see that there's now a coffeeshop inside - so I can have a cup of coffee and browse for records (or CDs, DVDs, books, etc if I had wanted). They have 3 turntables to audition the vinyl on, which is of course very handy. The staff is pleasant enough and the prices are decent (naturally if you go into a real shop, the price for something new will be higher than Amazon, but that's life) - they do have good prices on used everything but I generally haven't found anything amazingly rare - maybe it's behind the counter and I need to know exactly what I'm looking for or maybe they sell that stuff online. Anyway, if you like vinyl, CDs, DVDs and pop-art books - come on down!!

Yelp
Obviously, they know what they are doing having been open forever. Picked up a couple of "want list" items at fair market prices. Cheers to Amsterdam record shop with reasonable prices!

Yelp
One of the few music shops that seems to be able to defy the onslaught of (free) music downloads. Diversely stocked, knowledgeable staff, good 2nd hand section.
