"Conch Bar Caves Take a hike into the cool confines of an underground cave system on Middle Caicos Island. Conch Bar Caves is the largest nonsubmerged system in the region, featuringa type of cave that is created by the karst process in which rain water slowly erodes subterranean channels through limestone. Exploring the interior will reveal chambers with tidal pools, rock formations, and four species of bats. Some instances of graffiti within the caves are over a century old, left by guano miners during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Visitors must hire a local guide to enter the caves."

The Conch Bar Caves are a fun and interesting experience. You need a guide to walk you through. We went during the week and there was a local guide in the office at the cave entrance. You need to wear good shoes that won’t slip, bug spray and a long sleeve shirt (depending on the time of year). It can be a little cool inside

Guided tour is required and we really enjoyed it. The cave system is much bigger than expected. We were the only people there. $30 cash per person

It was difficult to figure out the hours, and we were unable to make contact with anyone via phone, so we drove over and hoped for the best. There were two employees: one to handle prep and the other to give the tour. The guide gave us each a handheld flashlight and had us follow him into the cave. There are bats, guano, cockroaches (that eat the guano), and spiders (that eat the cockroaches) in the cave. The floor is slick and smooth in places; I’d recommend sturdy footwear. There is no wind in the cave; the air is hot and stale. That said, the cave was awesome!! The bats were very active, and we could see and hear them flitting around and roosting. We saw a crab scuttle across the floor and some shellfish in a still pool. The tour guide was chatty and knowledgeable. Great experience!

It's a pretty good cave system. But I didn't feel like it was worth $30pp for a half-hour walk. Also, they don't take any card.. so if you plan to do this, make sure you have enough cash for your group.

Definitely a great experience exploring the caves. Jennifer was a great tour guide, very knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions about the caves. I highly recommend this tour as a part of exploring North and Middle Caicos.

It was nice, and the tour guide shared a lot of the history of the place with us. It's a shame that people go there and carve their names in the rocks, but aside from that, it was a cool experience.

Extremely beautiful caves. We did have to take a tour. It was a short experience. Definitely recommend trying it once.

We drove to Conch Bar Caves during a day trip to North and Middle Caicos. After reading reviews that they can close early and charge $30 cash per person (vs. $20 as advertised), we came prepared by arriving in the morning, a little before 10am, and with extra cash. Sure enough it is $30 per person. We were the only ones who arrived at that time though and quickly got a wonderful private tour! The cave was larger than we expected, and our guide shared a lot of history. We saw bats and bugs, and enjoyed about a 45 minute tour!
