This place is excellent. The location right on Concha beach is ideal. The apartments are very nice, with good beds and plenty of space. Everything works well and is maintained. The maid service everyday was a welcome plus. Nick was very helpful with taking care of anything we needed and making recommendations. If something broke they fixed it right away. We highly recommend this place for families. There is even a swing set right on the property.

We had a wonderful holiday in Itacare, staying at the Concha Tropical Flats. The apartments are run and owned by the same people as the Pousada Coqueiro Verde (where we stayed on our first visit to Itacare some years ago). The apartments are in a fantastic position, overlooking Praia de Concha with sea views, and a very short walk to the centre of town. Well equipped, with comfortable beds and kept spotless by the daily maid service, Concha Tropical Flat was a great base for our holiday. The apartment was spacious for our family of 5 and was a welcome place to return to at the end of the day - especially to the hammock on the ample verandah and air conditioning! Owners, Nick and Elaine are both English speakers (and so is manager, Sandra). All were extremely welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was arranging boat trips or advising us on restaurants and places to visit. ||For self-catering accommodation, sea views and close to town, the Concha Tropical Flats offer fantastic value in a beautiful setting.

After 5 months traveling we wanted to relax for a week before heading home to the UK. We paid extra to stay here but it was so worth it. Its on the beach, really quiet at night and no where near the noise of bars and hostels in town.||||It is a 10/15 min walk into town so best to plan your shopping trips wisely but a few supermarkets to choose from.||||The flats were spotless and cleaned every day. We had a power cut one night so the owner gave us keys to another room and by the time we returned the next day it was all fixed again.||||Overall a beautiful stay in a relaxing place

We just came to the end of a wonderful stay at Concha Tropical. Where to start...||||Our apartment was spacious and very well distributed, with a large bedroom and lots of room in the kitchen and living areas. The bathroom could just fit the two of us, but it was still functional enough. There's also a small patio at the back with a sink to wash cloes by hand and hang them there.||||As all others, our apartment faced the beach (Praia da Concha) which meant we had a beautiful view when we walked onto our terrace every morning.||||Yes, we had a beautiful terrace. We spent a lot of time there just chilling or enjoying quite a few meals. The hammock is a big plus, there's nothing like nodding off after a day out exploring with the sound of the ocean in the background.||||Back to the apartment. The kitchen had all the basics for us to cook our meals if we wanted to eat in. There's also wifi available, albeit a bit "temperamental" depending on the weather, but this is a problem across the town and not specific to a particular place. The apartment also had a tv with local cable and a DVD player, which didn't get much use from us.||||The furniture and decor were simple and functional, with some nice touches here and there. ||||In general we were very pleased with the facilities there. If anything, walls that are a bit too thin for comfort is something to keep in mind, and the bedding and towels had clearly seen better days.||||In terms of service, it was all satisfactory. There's always someone around to assist with maintenance and two lovely ladies that cleaned our apartment (except the dishes) once a day.||||As I touched on before, the beachfront location is wonderful. We were literally just a few steps away from the beach, which meant we could take a quick dip in the sea before breakfast or pop out at the end of the afternoon for a walk there.||||We were also within a 10 minute walk of the town center and Pituba, the area where most restaurants and bars are found. On that note, I must say the food in Itacaré was a major highlight of our trip, make sure you try it. We recommend Recanto das Artes on Pituba, Alacrim Dourado and Caserão Amarelo on the orla, and - a MUST - dessert at Caramelo, on Pituba as well.||||And because we stayed there for a few weeks during low season we got a very good rate, which meant that on the whole we got amazing value.||||Last but by no means least, the resident dogs, Hercules and Angelina, deserve some lines too. They were such a joy to be around. They would come greet us when we came back to the apartment and would hang out with us on the terrace too. They're extremely loving and caring, and also well behaved, so don't worry about them running off with your flip flops if you leave them outside. They added so much to our stay. Word of advice: a few treats and playtime with them will ensure you get special attention ;)||||So, to conclude, let me just say that I would recommend Concha Tropical, and would certainly consider staying there if we went back to Itacaré.

Just returned from nine days in Itacare with the family. We spoiled our selves by booking a ground floor and upper level flat to have 3 full bedrooms, although we could have got away with using a convertible bed in the upper flat to accommodate the 6 of us. The flats are thoughtfully laid out with big outside balconies that overlook Concha Beach. Decor is simple and clean with a custom made sliding wall to the lower flat bedroom which when open gave me a view out to the beach from my large comfortable bed! The flats were cleaned every day and towels etc were changed when required.||||One day on Nick (the English owner) directed us to the local fish market down by the river. I dont know what I bought, but it tasted fantastic barbequed that evening on our balcony using the bbq built in to the wall. Surf lessons were a hit with the kids, the owners were happy to recommend a local surf school who could deal with 4 different abilities..||||Love Itacare - the cobbled and dirt roads give a feel of somewhere that has yet to be made too respectable and gave a feeling of adventure to the holiday. I was happy to let the (teenage) kids off exploring or shopping on their own in the evenings without worrying about safety at all.
