Condado Beach is a beautiful spot with golden sand, clear blue water, and a great vibe overall. It’s perfect for sunbathing, relaxing, or just enjoying the ocean views. That said, the waves were very strong when I visited, and the current looked dangerous—definitely not ideal for swimming. There are warning signs posted, so be cautious if you go in the water. Still a great place to hang out and take in the scenery!

Google
Awesome beach. Great vibes!!

Google
Not the best beach in PR or even in San Juan, but still a nice beach nonetheless

Sam C.

Google
I actually prefer Condado over Island verde or other little strands in the area, for San Juan , this beach has great views and walkability, Isla verde has calmer waters.

On a cruise from New York to the Caribbean last several weeks. One of our early stops was San Juan. We signed up for a local tour and one stop was at this beach. It is a beautiful dandy beach with ocean and city views.

Condado Beach is absolutely stunning! The crystal-clear blue waters are mesmerizing and create the perfect setting for a relaxing day by the ocean. The sandy beach is soft and inviting, making it an ideal spot to lay out a towel and soak up the sun. The surrounding area adds to the beauty, with palm trees and a vibrant atmosphere that gives you that perfect tropical getaway vibe. I highly recommend this beach to anyone visiting San Juan. It’s truly a must-see! Just be mindful of the occasional strong currents.

Google
Such a beautiful place!!! The waves are humongous yet super gorgeous. Definitely took a swim and had a wonderful time. This place is perfect for surfing and boogie boarding!! They also have a high point to watch the waves splash in (like a mini board walk). Seeing the blue and green water and a few crabs here and there on the rocks made this experience a sight to see. I mist come back again!!

Google
Beach was beautiful, with clear waters. Kids as well enjoyed spending time over there. Beach maintenance should have been better.

Yelp
I had an easy check in. The hotel is less than a block from pharmacy, grocery, shopping, food, and the beach. The only minor inconveniences we had was some dripping from a vent during the rain (condensation?), some trouble printing my cruise boarding pass, and the water faucet had a special trick to turn to hot water. Super minor. The hotel was spacious, amenities in room include basic modern expectations: many lighting options(!), many USB ports, microwave, cable. Lots of space to put luggage. The hotel bar and restaurant was welcoming. The food delicious. The grouper with garlic sauce was so amazing! The breakfast was good, too, I had the French toast and they serve such large portions, I couldn't eat it all. I should've noted my servers' names but for dinner, as they made great recommendations and service was remarkable! Bartender makes great Moscow Mules and Coquito! Great gym! Jacuzzi and pool was nice. Laundry machines were fast and clean. I would definitely stay here again. I give it a 4.9.

Yelp
Beautiful beach. Incredible views to walk by in the morning. Relaxing spot to swim and enjoy the sun. I highly recommend you check it out.

Yelp
what a clean lovely beach! I came here daily during my birthday trip and it was the highlight of my day. They have vendors that sell food, music playing and so much space to lay out and tan. My word of advice is always get to the beach early to get a great spot. 5/5 would recommend this beach!

Yelp
The Condado lagoon was very rocky. This makes is hard to walk along the coast. However the beach is very beautiful and picturesque.

Yelp
I didn't plan to be there but I am glad I did. So the day I was gonna do the night kayaking I decided to search the nearest area & what's to see there. That's when this beach came up on google . When I searched how far is from my kayaking place it showed me that it's very close. That's when I decided to go there first & just chill there until it's time to kayak. At the entrance I saw them selling pinna colada & asked one without alcohol, lol the way she looked at me was just too funny ! She must have thinking I am crazy ! I still laugh just thinking about it..! I gotta say what a clean, beautiful beach. Area is smaller but kinda peaceful. I enjoyed staying there under my umbrella for 20$ a day lol with my virgin Pina Colada ! I was so relaxed that almost forgot to take pictures! But I managed to take some before I left. There are a lot of restaurants, hotel near by. I also ended up going to a seafood restaurant called Way Kiki.

Yelp
My favorite beach that I've been to in San Juan due to its location. Large enough you can always find your own space. Also has some hotel spots. But near all the great food.

Yelp
I love coming to San Juan for the beautiful views, ambiance and atmosphere. The air is so clean and smells so nice and tropical. The beach just calms the hers and puts the mind to ease.

Mary S.

Yelp
Beautiful place to e joy your day with family and friends but please watch for rip tides
google avatar

Yelp
Love it! Full disclosure: The water is quite rough for swimmers, but advisory signs are posted, lifeguards are on watch-- blowing whistles left and right, and it's beautiful! The rocks and beautiful blue water gives it a beautiful aesthetic. The hotels on this beach are also top tier! Trust me, this is where you want to be!

Yelp
If we're rating beaches Candado beach is highest on my list. It's close to our hotel but it's public. That simply means that anyone and everyone can come to the beach. I'll leave the rest to your imagination. The beach is like a cove that is protected by a large reef, so the waves are held at bay. When you come to the beach there is a beach staff that will sell you chairs and umbrellas but be sure to bring your own beach supplies. The sun is serious out here and you can get burned very easily and severely. The beach itself is pretty small. At peak time it gets crowded, chair to chair people.
google avatar

Les R.

Yelp
It was fun for our big beach day! We did morning thorough afternoon and it is a beautiful beach with all kinds of restaurants, shops, and hotels close by. We brought our own towels, but you can rent umbrellas and chairs from many of the hotel beach rentals and vendors on the beach. Remember to really make an effort to keep Sun screen so you don't get burnt. There are danger signs posted notifying that it is a dangerous beach with strong undercurrents so be careful. The Pacific Ocean was a little rough the day we went, but we were super safe and tried not to venture out too far. It was a fun time, but personally preferred the Playita del Condado Beach as it is smaller and was closer to our hotel but I see where this beach and location off the Condado Strip is so appealing.

Yelp
Condado Beach water is very very choppy. It's nice to visit & relax. I didn't get in the water because the waves were very heavy. I wouldn't recommend swimming.
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful area to stay in. Especially for tourists. Plenty of nice areas to eat. Walking distance from everything. 15 minutes from the Placita. Which wasn't bad at all. Rather than calling an Uber (since they don't have Lyft in PR) we walked to the placita. The streets weren't really busy on the way there. Most places were closed. A few of the restaurants walking distance from our VRBO were open until 4am. If you visit Condado Beach you have to take a pic with the Flag. It's a monument the beach is known for. All visitors take a picture there. Be ready for a line but it isn't too long. I would definitely stay in the same area to be by Condado beach when I go to Puerto Rico again. Beautiful place and so many delicious places to eat. I basically licked my plate at everyplace!

Yelp
The beach of Condado is a very popular beach among tourists in San Juan craving a Caribbean beach resort experience with all the vibrant life of a city just steps away. It attracts diverse crowd, from families to famous celebrities. If you want to play on the water, you can enjoy windsurfing, a very popular watersport in Condado. all the top hotels and resorts are close as well as restaurants. but , but - despite tempting Condado Beach is not safe for swimming or bathing, the water has very dangerous currents. Neither adults nor children should be swimming at Condado Beach. Nearby, you can walk to Playita del Condado, (Playita means small) a small beach with calmer water, better for swimming and doing a little snorkeling. We just came here, clicked few pics, dipped feet in sea water, wander around and moved to Playita condado. Ps: I did not see any shower-bathroom here.

Yelp
Fun time at the beach ! Surf, waves, sun, and a beautiful sunset. Some sand crabs even came to say hello ! Restrooms do close at 17:00

Yelp
This was my first beach experience in Puerto Rico and I liked it a lot! I'm giving it 4 stars because people were leaving their trash everywhere and I almost stepped in a bottle top. It is a little more of a crowded beach, so I guess that's why maybe? We got three chairs and an umbrella for the day and it was only $25. They had some guys walking around carrying carts to make drinks (alcohol or no alcohol) and they had waiters on the beach as well. I couldn't find a place for the public to rinse off, but I honestly didn't try too hard. There was a little bit of the sargassum seaweed, but most of it was washed up on the beach and not in the water. The waves are a little strong here. There was a red flag up when I was there but no one was enforcing it. Just don't go out past your waist and you'll be fine.
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
We stayed in a hotel near this beach, so of course we had to stop by. The beach itself is located in a very touristy area, so you have easy access to everything by walking. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. It is a nice beach and conveniently located, but not the greatest. We noticed a small amount of trash here and there. The currents here are also very strong and it is dangerous to swim here.
google avatar

Anna R.

Yelp
BEAUTIFUL beach! We came here around midday on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday since we were staying at a hotel on this beach and Sunday was by far the most packed the beach got while we were there, even more than on Saturday! Condado Beach invites diverse crowds which I enjoyed very much. If you are not staying in a beachfront hotel, be sure to bring your own umbrella and chairs or rent from the vendors on the beach. We had access to these through our hotel which was such a nice part of our experience here. The waves were large everyday we went and I've read that the undercurrent can be dangerous here so be careful. But the water and beach in general is beautiful and is kept clean. One of my favorite beaches in San Juan!
google avatar

Sajani P.

Yelp
The best beach! It was super calm when we went. It back up from Marriott if you stay there. Walking distance to All areas and cute shops around too!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the BIG Waves Beach in PR Also the most touristy beach IMO but that also means tons of food and drinks options along the beach. Some cool street art graffiti at times, there is a playground at one part and cool walking. You can't rent chairs and umbrellas if you like and people sell Italian Ice's right on the beach. Parking can be a bit tricky but there is a parking lot that is $8 for 10 hours. When I come to PR I usually hit a different beach everyday. This one is close to the airport in San Juan and not too far from San Juan. So if you like Big Waves , Lots of Food & Drink Options, and/ or are pressed on time this is Definitely the beach for you. Overall I recommend this beach a lot Though it is NOT my favorite beach in PR It's is my favorite to swim BIG Waves

Yelp
I don't know how anyone can give a BEACH less than 5 stars.... this beach is GORGEOUS. CLEAR blue green waters of the Caribbean cannot be beat!! This beach is right along where all the hotels are in San Juan. So it is very busy and full of tourists. But there is enough space when I went so it didn't bother me. I got my own little spot and was able to enjoy the entire day. There are vendors that walk by mostly for ice cream, but sometimes you do see snacks. I recommend bringing your OWN snacks and food and water just Incase! So you can get your spot and enjoy the day! Bring your own chairs and umbrellas if you are not staying at a hotel with beach access. Because it gets MUY CALIENTE!!!!! :-D
google avatar

Katrina L.

Yelp
Pro tip: wake up early if you want to avoid the crowds and/or take pics on the rocks. After 1 PM, all bets are off! Condado Beach is a beautiful beach with the perfect temperature (warm but not too warm) and wild waves that make for playful crashes lol. I literally spent hours in this water (#teamAquarius) and felt so at peace! This was my second time visiting San Juan, and it was just as lovely as I had remembered. Visitors/locals were friendly at this beach, and I had no issue finding a chair to sit/place my items on. I imagine it's a different vibe in higher peak seasons (summer), but for a February getaway, Condado Beach is your perfect bet! Plus, if you stay at the Marriot Stellaris hotel with a cabana room, Condado Beach will provide you with bomb ass pics ;). Enjoy!

Mel A.

Yelp
Beautiful but busy, lined with lounge chairs and umbrellas and some high-rise hotels with outdoor swimming pools when you're not facing the water. The waters were a bit too rough to really enjoy a peaceful swimming afternoon when we came so we had a quick visit, walked along the edges of the waters and left. Don't get me wrong, this beach seems fun but I found it a bit too chaotic for my taste. There is a small park near the beach to play or hangout with (saw a couple of people playing with their dogs) but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to shower, change or even a locker you could rent to keep your belongings safe. Unless you're staying at one of the hotels, you'll have to risk leaving your things while you enjoy the beach.

Yelp
Condado Beach is a magnificent beach in San Juan, PR. Very well known to both locals and tourists as it's in a well known area. The beach water was beautiful and the beach front itself was unbelievably clean although many tourists stay in the high rise hotels along the strip. The beach is decked out with a number of bars along the way to grab a drink or a bite before settling in on the sand in the sun.
google avatar

Dan P.

Yelp
Nice public beach. The surf can be rough. We got tossed around by a few waves. Sand has more trash in it than other beaches, like South Beach in Miami. Chairs and umbrellas are available for guests of the major hotels along the beach, such as Marriott, La Concha, and to a lesser extent AC Hotel. There's an ice cream vendor that comes by periodically. A full cup of ice cream with a shot of rum costs $7.00.
google avatar

Reina N.

Yelp
The Condado beach is the perfect beach to sit down and lounge with a good book or a drink in hand. When I visited it wasn't crowded, on the contrary it was pretty empty which I loved since it felt like a private beach. I'm guessing people don't frequent this beach much cause some parts are really rocky and on other areas of the beach there are signs alerting people that is not safe to swim because of the big currents. In conclusion, if you want to breathe fresh air and relax under a palm tree with a drink or a book in hand this is your to go beach!
google avatar

Klash H.

Yelp
Very nice beach. Chairs with umbrellas 20 a pop. They had people making drinks and sorbet on the beach. The sorbet tasted like mango with added pineapple. I came looking for the empanada lady but was unsuccessful. I asked and they said she wasn't there on the day I went.

Yelp
Condado Beach in San Juan is a beautiful beach that is well maintained and a fun place to spend the day. I am usually able to find parking on the street most times and it is easy to get in and out. I really like the atmosphere and waves here. Good experience every time I have been here.
google avatar

M G.

Yelp
Loved this beach! It's more commercial than Isla Verde but still beautiful. Some reviews said this beach is dirty but I didn't find it dirty at all. The area with the Puerto Rican flag and rocks makes for great pictures!
google avatar

Kojo B.

Yelp
Condado beach will depending on the strip you are on is much more quieter than its rivals from a people standpoint at least during the time i was there, i was always able to find a quiet spot and have my quiet time. Nice beach, clear warm strong waves. Good spot.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
I look forward to my trips to Puerto Rico to come to this beach. The beach area near the La Concha hotel is very nice and probably the best area of this beach. Residence in the area can also come to the beach, but if you want a chair/umbrella or stuff like that, you need to be staying at the hotel. The area after the AC hotel, the beach gets a bit dirty. You can see trash on the beach. That is why I gave the beach 4 stars and not 5. The sand is very soft and there are plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy the sun and beach even if you are not staying at the hotel. Make sure to bring cash to buy homemade ice cream from the ice cream cart. Delicious coconut, pineapple, or passion fruit. I like to mix the coconut and passion fruit together. The waves were pretty big, but the water is warm once you get in. Bring sunscreen the sun is intense.
google avatar

Ollie S.

Yelp
Beautiful beach, clean and open space. I liked the quick access to the beach. This is a busy beach. Wear your sunscreen
google avatar

Angie O.

Yelp
LOVE!!! This beach is absolutely wonderful: the sand is so soft and free of rocks, the view is beautiful, it is very clean, and it was never overly crowded. You can bring your own food or drink, and there is plentiful food/drink spots on Ashford. The beach is located just north of the strip of all the hotels and the chairs near the hotels are for hotel guests only. You can rent beach chairs for $10/day near one of N/S streets that dead end at the beach such as Vendig or Condado Ave. Or just bring your own beach towels. During my visit, the waves were pretty crazy. The no swimming flags were up, but you could still go play in the water. The water was so warm, like bath water (I was here the week of March 6). There were a few guys surfing, which was very fun to watch. This is an absolutely beautiful place.... a paradise. I truly hope to visit again and enjoy the amazing Puerto Rican sunshine and the warm waters of the ocean.
google avatar

Gwen W.

Yelp
We wanted to see the beach on our first day back in San Juan, so a short stroll north to Condado Beach was the obvious solution. Plenty of sand to spread out. Sporadically placed rinsing posts for washing off the sand. I'm not much draw to the beaches of San Juan - nothing negative - I just prefer the old history, architecture and graffiti art that's found in the urban cores. However, if your trip is solely for the sun and sand, Condado Beach is a happenin place. Everything cool, trendy and touristy is within walking distance.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
The water here was warm and incredibly comfortable. I would love to go back here. There was a lot of what I believe was seaweed that was blocking access to the water, but we found ways around that. Coming from NYC... it was so nice to go to such a beautiful, clean, and well-maintained beach that didn't have broken glass everywhere.

P H.

Yelp
Condado Beach? YES! You can't go wrong with any beach that you go to in Puerto Rico. Condado Beach is conveniently located to all the main road restaurants and hotels which is cool if you want to stay in the central area. The beach is clean and the people aren't roudy. There's always an ice cream woman/man carrying the cart around so make sure to try that out. This beach is a little too salty for me but hey, that's ocean water for you. I really don't have anything bad to say about this beach, just enjoy your time. This is the perfect beach stop before heading to your flight m.
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Gorgeous and clean beach. You find enough space that you're not on top of others. It rained off and on while we were there but no one seemed to mind. People were still partying! Waves were rough that day
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Definitely a must stop! Waves and riptide are monstrous for family swimmers...be careful! Took a camp hammock and avoided the headache of hotel patrols trolling public beach swimmers using chairs. This was a great stop for us.
google avatar

Hollei J.

Yelp
I love this beach! It is generally clean. I am not sure If I remember seeing life guards, I'm sure there were some. The water is bright blue, and see through. You can see the schools of fish swimming around you. Make sure you are equipped with sunblock. The water is VERY salty (be careful of your eyes... IT BURNS), and with the sun added, thats a combination for sunburn. I learned the hard way. They have beach chairs... they aren't free tho, unless you are associated with a hotel and have a wristband.
google avatar

Maria T.

Yelp
Definitely a beach people should see when in Puerto Rico. The water is so blue, that on a sunny day, the beach appears to be a combination of turquoise and sapphire. It is very hard to capture the gleam it has on a sunny day in a photograph. Though the waves are a little bit stronger, it is still very popular. A helpful tip for calmer waters would be to go down further down both ends, either towards ocean park or towards Old San Juan as the waves can be powerful down the middle. The sun can be very intense here but if you can find a coconut tree to sit under, the breeze is so refreshing. The sound of the waves is very relaxing and it is so easy to fall asleep to. This beach is great for tanning, but be warned, the sun is very intense so wear a lot of sunscreen. My skin is usually quite resistant to burning, but the firs day I spent at the beach resulted in an uncomfortable sunburn...

Robert W.

Yelp
Incredibly Great Vacation. We will be going back soon . From the decor of the hospitality. Everything was top notch...
google avatar

Cory R.

Yelp
Beautiful beach that is still recovering from hurricane activity several years ago. Less busy than some other beaches in the area but safe and fairly clean. The views of the skyline is fantastic. Easy to access via car. Definitely recommend this location!
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
I love this beach. It's open to the public, although certain parts are sectioned off as private for the hotels they accommodate. It's always full of people, clean, and enjoyable. My family and I enjoyed everyday here.
google avatar

Lex B.

Yelp
I only experienced Condado Beach from my hotel access. I did an impromptu quick photo shoot for IG lol . The beach is very nice, soft sand however, I found a glass pipe, I prescription bottle, as well as broken glass from a liquor bottle! You have to be careful an if I return to Puerto Rico, I plan to experience the beach from more of the public side of it.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Great beach, you can rent chairs and umbrellas Chairs cost around $5 Umbrella $10 One of the best parts about this beach is the waiters who come around taking drink and food orders and bringing it to your chair. We had the piña colada, the Coq, and a passion fruit margarita. All three tasted amazing omg. I wish I was back on the beach drinking anyone of these drinks. We also had the chips and guacamole, honestly not worth the 11 bucks but I guess if you're hungry and want the cheapest menu item, like I did lol the chips and guacamole isn't a bad pick. The waves are scary at first till you learn how to ride them.
google avatar

Teresa S.

Yelp
I checked this beach out later in the afternoon after beach hopping and other site seeing and I was looking forward to chilling and relaxing and taking a quick dip in the water. I was able to find parking very close to the beach due to a local helping people find spots for a small tip. I am not mad at the honest hustle. :-) To my surprise, the water was high current and very strong and a sista was too scared to venture in, LOL. I chilled and watched the courageous swimmers and surfers tackle the high waves. The weather was still beautiful and just being on a beach I was very happy and content. The beach wasn't as clean as I expected but still nicer than our NYC beaches. I had also visited some other beaches in PR (Luquillo & Fajardo) and this one wasn't my favorite beach. I was shocked to see an abandoned hotel in such a touristy area with high end stores and restaurants. There were plenty of places to eat, drink or just chill. I walked around and checked out the park next door to the beach. Next time I visit this beach I will make sure I come earlier in the morning to enjoy it more and get my rest and relaxation on while being able to get in the water. LOL
google avatar

Terinee B.

Yelp
Lovely beach! The deep multi shades of blues & greens of the water... The sound of the waves... And the fact that it wasn't over crowded all made for a surprisingly refreshing mid-day break during a heavily work-packed business trip! I'll certainly be back!
google avatar

Rosie D.

Yelp
Loved lounging on this beach. The chairs are sold by beach bum looking people but that's probably because they make their living selling chairs to tourists on the beach. Chairs cost $5 umbrellas are $10. My tip is to try to get there first thing in the morning to watch the sunrise. It's beautiful. Great place to chill, hang out, and let your cares drift away. And in case you need more help chilling there's a restaurant that's right across the street that sells huge piña coladas out of pineapples with Bacardi 151 rum. So yea, do that. My only reason for no t giving it the full stars is the beach was a little dirty looking but it was still beautiful!
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
Beautiful famous stretch of beach close to downtown San Juan. I stayed near the east end and walked the east side, which was much less crowded than the middle of the beach. The sand was so hot I had to wear sandals or run to the water. Many shades of blue in the Caribbean water, which was warm and nice to swim in! A nice skyline of old and new hotels and a funky white roofed seashell-like building.
