22 Best Restaurants in Copenhagen

"Conditori La Glace is the pastry version of Willy Wonka's chocolate shop; founded in 1870, it's Denmark's oldest and most revered confectionary. The pretty pink, green, and brass interior resembles an old-school tea room, and it's just the sort of setting where you could spend hours drinking cups of tea while working your way through the sugary treats—all of them. The specialty here is sportskagen—"sports cake," made with crushed nougat in whipped cream and a macaron base—but everything you see is good." - Mary Holland

This is a dessert lovers paradise. Pastries, cakes and more. They have so many to choose from. No wonder it gets very busy. The staff were so amazing and helpful in every way. The coffee was good and the cake was delicious. You will come back for more. Highly recommended 👍🏼

Google
The food in this restaurant is very delicious. Each person starts with a delicious soup, and the special shared meal for two is very delicious. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the restrooms are very neat and clean. The instant handmade pizza is very delicious. Whether it is lamb, lamb rack, chicken wings or pizza, they are all worth a try. In addition, the waiter's attitude is very good, which deserves 100 points. It is very good.

Google
Very amazing little cake shop. I wanted to try everything but only got a few items the coffee was also really delicious. I would recommend trying this place with a group so you can get a bunch of different things!

Visiting Conditori La Glace is an absolute must. The cakes and pastries are nothing short of spectacular, showcasing generations of masterful craftsmanship. From classic Danish specialties to exquisite seasonal creations, every bite is a memorable experience. This legendary konditori is a delightful culinary journey and a definite highlight for any sweet tooth.

Google
Came on Saturday, but luckily have walked in without a queue. Tried some soft, smooth, creamy cakes. The signature sportskage was great. It’s pricey, as usual as Northern Europe.

Google
Their pastries were tasty, but I don't think they were outstanding. There are some better choices elsewhere in this price range. They use A.C. Perchs's tea and can be refilled once. The shop is well-decorated and packed. The service was good, even though the staff were very busy. Perhaps they should prepare some number tags for the dine-in customers, so the staff don't have to deliver the orders without a clue of which table the order belongs to.

Google
Have never had a hot chocolate as smooth, tasty and chocolaty as this and the amazing pastry was an added bonus. We would return to Copenhagen just for another visit. Brilliant.

Merry Go Round (サトウ)

Google
Beautiful old cafeteria in Copenhagen and must try if you have not been here. They have a lot of pastries and cakes and some cakes that I never seen before. Beautiful variety of teas 🫖 ☕️ and hot chocolate and we could able to have 2nd serving of hot chocolate for free ❤️ The staff is friendly and always nice. Will always keep visiting here even there seems always a line of customers waiting

Yelp
This spot was right across from our Airbnb, and we noticed a line outside every day. Our host insisted we try it, describing it as a world-renowned bakery. Determined to beat the crazy lines, we got up early and headed downstairs. At first, the experience was a bit chaotic--people were trying to cut in line, and once inside, there wasn't much guidance about whether we could order for takeout or just at the counter. Despite the confusion, we placed our order at the counter and chose their most famous dessert, a few macarons, some pastries, and an éclair. Let me tell you--THE HYPE IS REAL. This place serves some of the best desserts I've ever had in my life. Their signature cake was absolutely divine: perfectly creamy with just the right amount of crunch. The macarons were flawless--no complaints there. The pastries tasted like heaven, and my boyfriend hasn't stopped raving about the éclairs since. So, what I'm trying to say is... if you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by for a pastry. You won't regret it! Plus, the line moves pretty quickly, I promise.

Yelp
Fantastic desserts. Big place with lots of indoor & outdoor seating in a fun area. Staff are also nice & friendly. If you're visiting Copenhagen, make sure you stop by here. We went twice in 2.5 days we had there!

Yelp
The best of the best in Copenhagen. A friend recommended this place to us and we were so glad of all the places we tried. This was by far. the best!! I would rank this as Copenhagen ac's number one pastry shop. They have a boutique upstairs where you can buy Danish cookies and cakes. Perfect gift to take back home.

Yelp
A nice and popular bakery with a wide variety of desserts and coffee. I went for breakfast at 8:30am so there was no line but you will have to wait mid day! It's counter style, where you order at the counter and find seating on your own. I got a vanilla tart and the classic house specialty cake both were delicious and not overly sweet! I would recommend. I also ordered coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice! The first round of coffee came cold and I realize now that was a mistake on their part. They probably served me old coffee hence the 3 stars but luckily they swapped out my pot of cold coffee with fresh hot coffee immediately.

Yelp
Absolutely worth a visit. I got a mocha eclair and a hot chocolate. Plenty of room inside, even though it was busy. Counter service and they bring it to your table when it's ready.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place to enjoy fresh pastries and hot chocolate! It's a very upscale coffee shop and all about the posh ambiance and fresh pastries. The hot chocolate must be well known as we saw several people order it after we were seated. The Sevice is top notch as they bring your order to your table and offer free refills. But for the price, you won't be able drink enough to justify it. It is good hot chocolate though! And the pastries are some of the best I've had here in Copenhagen!!!

Yelp
Love this place. While other visitors prefer "5-tier cakes" my favorite is Danish raspberry slice "hindbærsnitter" and definately Earl Grey tea with milk :)

Kris V.

Yelp
Amazing pastry shop in Copenhagen. It's been around for a while and really crowded but there is a good reason for that. Both the coffee and the pastry we chose was great. Worth experiencing the atmosphere and certainly the pastry. Won't find if anywhere else.

Yelp
Come here for the cakes. La Glacé is a beloved institution that's been around since 1870. It is Denmark's oldest family owned and operated patisserie. There is Always a line and for good reason: the cakes are That delicious. I could not narrow down my choices to just a few so I ordered several. You cannot go wrong with any flavor. The moment you step foot inside La Glacé, you are transported back into time to the late 19th century and well worth trying. Don't be alarmed by the long line: it moves at a very fast pace.

Miriam M.

Yelp
Best pastry shop in Copenhagen. All of the desserts are amazing and the presentation is incredibly appealing and beautiful but the flavors are even better. You cannot go to Copenhagen without enjoying these creations. You order at the counter and then they will bring it to your table. During the summer there's outdoor seating or you can sit inside where there's plenty of room.
google avatar

Marc N.

Yelp
One of the better pastry shops I went to 100%. There is usually a line, so be prepared for that. Not only are the pastries really good but the service is also very home-y. There is plenty of seating and it's a very open area. The pastries are a 9/10 and I got an americano rather than an espresso this time. The Americano was also surprisingly good at a 8/10. I would come here again and again, but I need to try other cafes while I'm here :( This is by far the best one though.
google avatar

Aeris W.

Yelp
4.5 stars for their Danish cookies.. Almost 5! Unfortunately, I only got Danish cookies from La Glace as the line for the bakery/cakes was way too long (at least an hour!). There's a separate entrance for the cookies so I entered from there. Picked up a few boxes and they were packaged really nicely; they make great gifts. I kept a box for myself and it contained 8 flavors. The cookies were super soft, buttery, and delicious. A few of them were a little too sweet, but still good. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
This place is so popular and good that there is a perpetual line for their goodies. Don't be too intimidated though as the line can go fast and not everyone in the line plans to stay for a long time. It's dessert, so people come and go. I'd say a 30-minute wait is worth it, but not more than that. Just come back later if you have to wait forever. They're well known for their hot chocolate and the Sports Cake so these are what I recommend you order. Both are straight up delectable.

Molly S.

Yelp
The service was just weird. Wait to be seated and then have a number to wait to go up to the counter which you can't see when your number is up to order so you have to keep walking back and forth (they don't announce your number). Also ordered a hot chocolate (which was good) and went up for a refill because the waitress about 15-20 mins before when she dropped off the hot chocolate said 'just go up to the bar if you want a refill) and the staff said they were closed/couldn't give me one. Again would've been fine with better communication and warning. The staff was nice but the experience wasn't great so I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
This place was on several travel food shows I watch and was also highly rated when I was doing research for our trip to Copenhagen. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line of about 15 people. It moved very quickly and while we waited, we looked at the showcase on beautiful patisserie. We sat inside and ordered our treats as well as coffee and hot chocolate (both were very good). Both of us got a croissant, I got chocolate which was good and had chocolate inside. My wife got the almond one and while it was good, there was no filling. Next I moved to the Sportskage, which La Glacé is famous for. It was very good, but definitely enough for two people. I really enjoyed it as it was not like any other cake I had had before. My wife got the Konsensus, which was a passion fruit mousse with mango gel over a hazelnut biscuit base topped with a chocolate macaroon. She said this was the clear winner of the day. Would definitely go back and try some of the other pastries and such.

Yelp
This is the place for dessert in CPH! Always a wait especially on the weekends but definitely worth it. I've tried a couple of the chocolate desserts which are divine. The servers behind the counter are wonderful! Always pleasant and smiling. Inside it feels like you are having coffee and dessert in a place from another time-classy and charming. This isn't your typical leather sofa with jazz in the background coffee/dessert house. It isn't the cheapest but you won't regret it.

Yelp
I had high hopes coming here. I was looking forward to a slice of cake that I dreamed would have a spongy cake topped with delicious Danish pastry cream. Unfortunately this is not that kind of bakery. If you look closely all of their cakes feature 90% cream and at most 10% cake. A more accurate translation would be pie -think a whipped cream topped sweet pastry crust. The most famous sportskage was macaroon and sugar/whipped cream flavor. Good, but not out of this world. Especially for the 60+ kroner. The shop is cute for the ambience and it has a classic feel.

Yelp
Best pastries I've ever had in my life! I grew up in Vancouver, BC and my mom worked at a Danish bakery. I grew up eating Kringles my whole life so naturally, I went to Denmark looking for Kringles. My boyfriend and I came here for dessert one night after dinner. This place is a counter service cafe with incredibly efficient service. You order at the front and then they seat you and bring you your order when it's ready. I had the Kringle, a pistachio macaron (my other favorite pastry) and coffee. The coffee was served in high tea fashion in a metal tea pot and was delicious. I would recommend this place for anyone with a sweet tooth visiting Copenhagen.

Yelp
When we were preparing for our Denmark trip, Conditori La Glace was recommended as one of the places to visit. As the oldest patisserie in Copenhagen (founded 1890), this place is highly popular. There's always a line. When we entered we could tell it was built in another era with an interior archway, large windows facing the street, and pastry display with some of the best looking pastries and desserts I've ever seen. Its pink interior with gold trim is highly appropriate for a bakery. With so many desserts to choose from, it was hard to choose one. I finally settled on a strawberry cheesecake dessert, which seemed to fit well with the surroundings. It was excellent. A great place to stop if you are touring Copenhagen.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend this shop which is set in time as they make absolutely delicious cakes- I tried the chocolate one and returned to try the classic with marzipan and they were both absolutely scrumptious!
google avatar

Yelp
Conditori is a historical tea and cake shop in the centre of Copenhagen. The hostess brings you to a table and provides a number; when your number is called you go up to order at the counter and your food is brought out a few minutes later. I thought the desserts we ordered were just okay - we tried a chocolate mousse cake, from the menu pamphlet, and another pastry that we just picked out at the counter. The teas were really good. Loose leaf tea in a little silver pot, and they'll give you a refill of hot water if you'd like. I tried the house tea which was a flavoured black tea. It was nice to go out for afternoon tea (and I'm not sure where else is a good place for tea in Copenhagen), and the food and tea was decent, but the restaurant feels very touristy and I don't think lives up to the hype that surrounds it.
google avatar

Stella Y.

Yelp
4.5 I couldn't resist desserts, even if were to replace lunch because it's so expensive, but it was worth it! There was such a huge selection that we had to grab a menu and keep going back and forth to look at the displays. I settled for a walnut cake. It was super light, fluffy, and really creamy. The walnut flavor complimented all of the cream and made you just want to savor it. Of course, we also got their famous hot chocolate which came with free refills. I swear this was more expensive than most of the cakes-- it was about $8-9. It was extremely rich and decadent; really excellent quality chocolate. If I could go back, I would probably chase everything with a cup of tea because it did get a tad overwhelmingly sweet (not like I'm complaining). One yelper did mention that the "cakes" were primarily cream and not actual cake so FYI on that. My walnut cake was pretty much all fluffy cream.

Yelp
A few days ago, my sister & I visited Conditori La Glace twice. Their hot chocolate was the one item that made us come back a second time. WOW! It was one of the best hot chocolate we have ever had. It was so damn delicious, and satisfying on a cold day. It was not too sweet, unlike the American versions. Highly recommended! You can not order the chocolate as a take out item, and it must be consumed sitting in. One of the staff told us, they can refill another round of hot chocolate if you finished. We ordered 2 of their signature desserts: 1) sportskage (consists of crushed nougat, whipped cream, a macaroon bottom and caramelized choux pastry), and 2) kartoffelkagen (consists of vanilla cream and a biscuit bottom, and it is encased in marzipan and rolled in cocoa). The desserts were tasty, but we thought it was nothing special. Out of the 2, we liked the sportskage more. The kartoffelkagen was a bit weird for us. Although we didn't love it, everyone visiting Copenhagen should come in here to try a danish dessert. But do come here to drink that hot chocolate drink! The best thing ever! Cash and credit cards accepted here. You can order desserts as take outs, or as a sit in. But the hot chocolate is only for sit ins.
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
Beware that they charge a fee for using a credit card, so your final total will be higher than they claim to charge. (I'm not sure this is legal? Nowhere else I've been in Denmark does this.) Pastries are delicious, of course.
google avatar

Autume A.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. It has a cute little ambience going on. Very similar to Laduree. I recommend going at an off time because the queue for this place can get fairly long. I ordered the Forårskage which is a raspberry moose cake with a chocolate truffle base. The moose was the absolute best.

Yelp
Items Selected: Jam Danish Almond Croissant Sportskage - Crushed Nougat in Whipped Cream, Macaroon Base with Caramelized Choux Danmarkskage - Mascarpone Cream, Vanilla, Rhubarb Compote, Almond Base with Strawberries Opened in 1870 just off the Stroget and more than doubling in size from its original inception as its popularity has grown, Conditori La Glace has become a destination for both locals and tourists thanks to a collection of over a dozen Pastries and twenty Cakes available in whole or by the slice daily. Family owned and operated from the start, now in its 6th generation, it was early Saturday that a stop was made at Skoubogade 3 as the second half of breakfast, an 08h20 arrival finding staff still in the process of setting out tables and chairs, though entry along with two other groups was nonetheless allowed with the traditionally-dressed all-female staff remarkably pleasant for so early in the morning. Best known for their Cakes and Ice Cream, but also offering traditional Breakfast Pastries plus Macarons, it was after a quick summary of the sizable dining area that a seat was taken in a small booth looking straight at the register, an Almond Croissant plus the day's second Danish quickly brought to the table while staff paraded the Cakes out from the kitchen with one in each hand to fill the window and glass cases. Perceivably not updated in years, the Salmon-colored paint, worn carpets and gold trim all creating a cozy yet dated look, first bites of the Croissant showed a flaky Shell with good lamination and virtually no filling, the Almond really only a faint hint amidst all the Butter while the Danish presented the same Dough given less time to rise and filled with Raspberry Jam, a small circle of Icing plus a few Almond slivers. Anticipating that the best was yet to come, tough choices and a couple of questions eventually yielding two Cake slices even though at least a dozen sounded great, those looking for something light and fruity would do well to order the Danmarkskage thanks to the combination of a thin Almond base with Vanilla Mascarpone Cream, sweet Rhubarb Compote and fresh Strawberries while every other first-time guest would be foolish to pass up the signature Sportskage, a lighter-than-you'd-ever-imagine masterpiece with a soft Macaroon base, hand-whipped Cream on top and a center that would be as smooth as silk were it not punctuated with tiny pieces of caramelized and crushed Nougat.

Yelp
Yes we had the most famous one "sport cake" and also another one recommend by the staff. But honestly, the famous is overly sweet and just a bit tasty, and the other one is not tasty at all.... So I was wondering whether I had been to the right place but seeing from the pictures for sure we had. La glace can be regarded as the most famous cake shop in Copenhagen and if you like cakes or you're a foodie, you should give it a shot but if you are not that interested in cake.... you can just let it go.....
google avatar

Jaana S.

Yelp
Don't let the 3 stars fool you....I liked this place.... I've just liked other places more. I ordered the thing they're famous for: the sports cake or whatever it's called, and I enjoyed the first few bites a lot more than I thought I was going to. However, after a while it was too sweet to go on and I ended up leaving more than half of it for my friend to finish off. I read a bunch of yelp reviews saying that the hot chocolate was out of this world, and maybe I was expecting to be blown away but I was underwhelmed. It was good, just not wow-factor.
google avatar

Yelp
I understand that this place is a Big Deal. Is it worth it? Perhaps? My visit today was enjoyable. My boyfriend and I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon and waited for only five minutes to get a table. The slice of appelsinlagkage that I ordered was most definitely the most delicious piece of cake I have eaten in my life, though my assessment might be based on the fact that American cakes generally have one thing going on at a time whereas this cake had like five different things going on at the same time. Like the macaroon crust. Wow. And the frosting. And the clementine orange slice that had a caramel coating. That slice of cake freaking blew my mind. Definitely worth the DKK 57 ($8) Their varm chokolade is fancy fancy, but I'm glad that I ordered coffee instead because hot chocolate AND cake is too much of a good thing. Would I insist that an American friend visit here? Mehhh... perhaps if they liked fancy cake and wanted a cute European cafe experience. I wouldn't bring my parents, 'cuz I know they aren't into that sort of thing, especially if it would involve a wait longer than five minutes. But damn, I would most definitely return for another piece of that cake.
google avatar

Vi P.

Yelp
SUCH A GOOD BAKERY! My mom and I absolutely love this place. It's located near a university with so many convenient shops and places to eat as well. Having a stroll around the area is really nice in the morning. Also to sit inside or outside the bakery while having a cup of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate is such a nice way to calmly wake yourself up in the morning for what you're about to do. Their baked goods were so soft and fresh tasting. The vanilla crème filling was such a fresh taste of real vanilla that I've never felt I had back home in other bakeries. I would definitely come back here if I ever had the chance to. The hot chocolate was delicious but nothing extravagant like many of the reviewers have said. Maybe I was too excited about it! Favorites : -Baguette w/ butter -Macarons -Vanilla crème filled croissant with chocolate drizzle around
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Even in the winter there is a line, and when you take a look at the window display you can understand why. The gorgeous assortment of cakes in what is clearly a cozy (and historic) cafe in the heart of Copenhagen draws you in. The selection is quite large, and my choice, which I unfortunately do not remember by name, was great. Regardless of choice, each cake is clearly crafted with care so I don't think you can go wrong here
google avatar

Mariie V.

Yelp
Definitely too sweet for me but my friends love the place. Size wise, the servings are like cheesecake factory servings so is the overwhelmingly long list of flavors too choose. The have smaller desserts like macaroons and they also.serve coffee and tea. It's a very cute, hidden place. Getting tour order, can be messy because you order and you don't get a number or anything so basically the waitress has to figure out where are you in the place. But I you have the time and want to try something really authentic then you should definitely go to this place with history.
google avatar

Schelly Y.

Yelp
I loved the old feel of this place! It has historic charm and is perfect to unwind after a long day of touring. We tried a vanilla custard pastry, rhubarb cake, strawberry milkshake, and a coffee. The vanilla custard pastry was crispy/flaky with just the right amount of creamy custard. I thought the rhubarb cake was a bit sweet.
google avatar

Cindy O.

Yelp
Volmer Sørensen was heavenly, which is comprised of creamy nougat in whipped cream, macaroon bottom, and vanilla custard. It's def one of the delicious pastry/cake places I've been to in Europe. We also enjoyed their tea and coffee. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Probably the best bakery in Copenhagen. A bit pricey and usually there's a long line, but it's well worth it! As you walk past this place, situated right near Strøget, Copenhagen's main shopping street, you will inevitably see a long queue of people trying to get in, regardless of what time of day it is. This is because the cakes and sweets they make are heavenly. They have around 20 cake types, with diverse fillings, from pure chocolate, to combinations of cream, lemon, meringue and others, ready to appeal to any sweet tooth. Crunchy, savory, creamy, refreshing the choice is yours and you can't go wrong. In addition, you'll find macarons, home made hard candy, small sweets, each more mouth watering than the last. If you're looking for something to quench your thirst or accompany your treat, they serve lovely chocolate, coffee and more. The quality of every single product is amazing. It may seem a bit pricey, but it is well worth it. In addition, the place looks amazing. It has the atmosphere of an 18th century noble home, with stylish furniture and elegant decor. You can judge from the photos, but when you'll actually walk in and sit down, you'll be amazed nevertheless. The only downside is that it is so good and renowned, that there is almost always a long line. A tip for visitors: if you just want to take away your sweet, pop in past the queue, ask for a menu and clearly state you don't want to sit down, state your decision and in maximum 5-10 minutes, you will get your treat in a nice to-go package. However, if you have the patience to wait, I definitely recommend treating yourself and your friends/loved ones to some of the best cakes Copenhagen has to offer.

Yelp
When I think back on my time in Copenhagen, this place quickly comes to mind. It is one of the oldest bakeries in Copenhagen and when you enter, you do get a sense that you are in another time period. All of the styling is so quaint, delicate, and cute: the rooms, plates, tables, and the desserts themselves. My friends and I would go to La Glace mostly for the unlimited hot chocolate. On a cloudy, chilly, or rainy day, it was all you wanted. The chocolate is very rich and you can add whipped cream to your liking. It was some of the best hot chocolate I had ever had. It was soothing and delightful. Although it was pricy, as most things in Denmark, it was worth it especially if you shared some with friends.
google avatar

Ashley L.

Yelp
Good pastries, but not the best I had in Copenhagen. Atmosphere was charming, but the staff was not very friendly.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Holy, holy God. The chocolate torte I got here was amazing, but honestly it didn't hold a candle to the hot chocolate. It was in the low 70's/low 20's when I went so technically hot chocolate wasn't the most obvious choice, but one of the reviews suggested it so I went for it. It was heaven on earth. First, you get a refill, second, and more importantly it comes with a bowl of unsweetened whip cream (this is important because it compliments the chocolate and adds a buttery richness rather than sweetness). Oh, and they refill the whip cream, too, saints! It was amazing. I added some of the whip cream to the chocolate torte because, honestly, this whip cream would make anything it touches better. Also, the ambiance of this place is great. I just listened to Vivaldi's Concerto in C on repeat and felt like Marie Antoinette. Just get the hot chocolate, whatever else you get. You getting the hot chocolate at my suggestion will mean I've made the world a slightly happier place.

Yelp
La Glace was good. But a bit of a let down. I couldn't leave Copenhagen without trying a kartoffelkage. And I should mention that I really don't like marzipan. Too bad that hartoffelkage is enrobed in a goodly layer of marzipan. But I will not hold that against La Glace - I knew what I was getting in to. So I made the quick trip here from my hotel the last morning of my stay, and ordered a coffee, a kartoffelkage, and a pistachio macaron, just because I love them and I'm a fatty. The kartoffelkage was better than i expected, given the whole marzipan thing. For those who don't know, it's a light layer cake with a cream filling, wrapped in marzipan and then rolled in cocoa. It looks like a browned spud when you're done - hence the name "potato cake." This was probably better marzipan than I have ever had. No fake cherry taste from artifical flavoring, not dried out or objectionably textured. The cake was light and moist, the filling wasn't too thick and heavy, and I liked the cocoa to cut through the sweetness. However, one is enough of these. I want to try some of the other things here, but I needed to do the right thing and try the local item first. The macaron, sorry to say, does not compare to what I love from Belle Epicurean in Seattle. This is not to say that La Glace's are correct and Belle's are wrong, or vice versa, it's to say that I want Belle's before I want La Glace's. Belle has a silky filling and rich, chewy cookies, while La Glace really has neither - the filling was kind of blah, and the cookies were mostly air bubble that crumbled as soon as I bit in. Maybe I had a "bad" one, but I won't be dreaming about these later tonight. Finally, the coffee - tasty, but at ~$10, way way way overpriced, even for Copenhagen. The staff were friendly - note, when you show up early, like 5 minutes after opening, you have the place to yourself and they may not even have all their items set out yet. They had to go get my kartoffelkage from the kitchen. Doesn't bother me either way, but if you don't see what you want, you may want to ask. So I would still come back, but I would take the baked good away and get coffee elsewhere. I almost had a heart attack at the ~$20 this cost me...and then I realized my hotel had been charging me $25 for breakfast every morning. Sigh.

Yelp
It is like travelling back in time to an old pastry/tea shop. Not only the decor but the attention to detail & even the packing. Come here to indulge and sample rich delights and forget your hips for now. They have an amazing array of pastries which you can eat in or take away. You are warned that whilst they have a table service, primarily they are a shop & will get to you when they can. When busy, you have to take a number to get served. They add a fee for foreign credit cards so watch out & no take away option for beverages.

Yelp
The very best of such a wonderful city! See my photo of the displays in the windows. So sweet! There were pretty dolls with dresses of buttercream blossoms and macarons. Service was so warm and welcoming, but this was the predominant theme of Copenhagen. Try their Danish cookies and pastries. And a soothing cup of tea. Free wifi. Nice, clean toilets. Plenty of tap water available. Absolutely lovely place.

Yelp
Visit here after I was convinced by my friend. It was in the list of 25 bakery must-try in the world on buzzfeed, so I decide to stop by this place, despite the long lines. I thought the line was going to take long, but it only took 20 minutes of wait. And I'm glad they have tables for one person, that reduced my waiting time too. After you get seated, you will have to walk to the counter and order your stuff. It is another line before you order== I got the signature sports cake (57kr) and the la glace tea (59kr). I think they should list the price of the drinks. La glace is a creme tea with sense of orange, rose and vanilla in it. It is really smoothing and refreshing I think. The sports cake was really unique too. At first I was expecting to be a pound cake, a cake with flour and baked. But the sports cake is a cake made with whip cream. I hate whip cream, but I actually like this cake. I like the flavors and the crunchy nougat they added to the cream, and the crust/ cake base was on point! I'm sure I'll miss this cake when I leave Copenhagen. This place gets five stars because of its service. The servers are really nice, I was there at three pm, and all the servers would smile at you, they are also pretty helpful.

Yelp
It's impossible to get seating at this lovely cake shop. The cakes are displayed in the windows and it's easy to get take away pieces after consulting the English/Danish menus with photos and descriptions. What made the cakes unique is their macaroon base layers. For something light, I recommend the Volmer Sorensen which is made of whipped nougat and apricot and is encased in a rich marzipan border. For something much more decadent, go for the HC Hat which is thick chocolate ganache galore. I hope to return so I can get the full seated experience. Then I can see if the 60 dkk hot chocolate is worth it...

Yelp
Definitely NOT ok to charge a "gebyr" fee for using my Visa card. It's not even allowed to do that anymore but they're sneaked it in when showing one of the receipt without gebyr and on the credit card slip, a gebyr (extra fee) was charged. I called and they told me to send an email and photo of receipt. And told me they are not sure what have happened. Is this a way to cheat tourists? Be careful before you agree to sign or put your pincode. Really disappointed and the way they treat tourists. Luckily for them they have a good location, no lack of new tourists.

Yelp
I had a list of places to go in Copenhagen and off course this was in. First of all what is not to love about the "oldest bakery" in the city. We had to make a line but it moved super fast it was definitely worth it to make a line in the coldddd.... the decorations it was beautiful, the attention to detail is priceless. It's amazing how much excellence their is in this place and that obviously goes on to the stars of this. The pastries, where do I start, I wish I could try everything, is one of those places where you want it all and take like 30mins just deciding what you want.. we order 3 cakes for my bf and I and they were sooo rich and well done perfectly.. so glad we were able to make a stop in this place... the line is worth it. So make sure you make in while in kobenhavn ... the only reason why this place doesn't get 5 stars is because they don't have espresso drinks only plain coffee which is not bad at all, but more coffee options would of been perfect.

Yelp
Sugarholic and chocoholics dream! They have everything from macarons to cakes to thick drinking chocolate. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was a line out the front door, and we waited about 15 minutes for a seat. Smaller parties are able to get seats faster. The line outside makes the time provided to choose your order short, so it might be easier to decide what you're getting before going inside. We were ushered inside and given a menu and had about 2 minutes to order. I didn't really see prices on the menu, but nothing here is really cheap. Expect to pay around $10 for each cake slice and $10 for each drink.

Yelp
Went there around 9:30 on a Sat, we re the first 2 or 3 tables there, so lots of space. Delicious cake. We ordered 2 pots of coffee but actually one pot would be enough since we can have free refill once for each pot. I ordered the No4 cake on the menu, can't remember the name but it was very good. Better than the ones I ordered last 2 times. In general I like the atmosphere there, very lay back and cozy. You can see generations of a family there often. But I don't have any 'I have to go back' or 'I'm thinking of it all the time' feeling each time after I'm out of there. Maybe I'm just not a cake person or I haven't found my favorite cake there yet.

Yelp
Fabulous!!!! Wonderful cakes and pastries!! If you're American or someplace where you usually don't have to sit next to a smoker, sit inside because outside is all smokers.
