Coney Island Diner

I did a DoorDash order for 2 eggs and their house made corned beef hash. I’ve had it before and it was amazing. NOT today. It was straight from a can. It looks like dog food and tastes awful. My whole reason for ordering from here was because they made homemade corned beef hash. Do NOT false advertise. It’s a sure way to ruin your business. Very disappointing.

Nice little spot for a quick bite to eat they cleaned the tables nice before I ate and were very friendly id definitely come again and looking forward to it

Thank you Rish for your courteous service. Living in Westchester, it is always fun to visit restaurants with Long Island names in upstate NY. This is a nice traditional diner, service was great, breakfast specials were properly priced and portions were perfect. My favorite item? The bacon was great!!! The parking, restaurant and bathrooms were handicapped friendly. We plan to make this our breakfast nook for attending Orange County Fairgrounds.

Had a good meal here! We got an omelette that was fluffy and flavorful; and a steak, good amount of food compared to the price. They refill your coffee which is appreciated. Place was clean and it seems well organized, it’s clear people working there do care to do a good job. Will be back!

I only been there twice. Each time, I got the turkey and cheese on a roll. The turkey is seasoned well. The chips are amazing. The price was reasonable. Stop by this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

I went there Friday morning to get some food for me and my family since we wanted to try something new, but while I was in my car trying to look at the menu and on the phone to see what they wanted a random guy comes and knocked on the window of my car and gives me a piece of paper for them basically threatening me to tow my car and the guy just said “idk the owner sent me” so that’s a great way to be greeted so I just left so if you plan on going walk or hang a huge sign on your car saying that you’ll be inside in a moment so yeah not returning

Ordered pick-up before opening time. Unfortunately the homemade cornbeef hash definitely set in a fridge uncovered ( tasted sour) over medium eggs were over done. While the price when ordering through clover is much cheaper then ordering pickup through DD. If You are an early eater this is not the place. Homefries lacked seasoning more of a simple boil potato 🥔.

This place is always good, great breakfast or lunch spot. If you are into hot dogs and chili then I absolutely recommend you try the coney dogs, Im addicted, really tasty.

I placed my order 30 mins before opening with the app. The food was not as expected tho the homemade corn beef hash tasted like day old sat in a fridge without being covered. The over medium eggs were over hard. The home fries had no seasoning barely fried not an onion or pepper in sight.

Not what it claims to be. I thought I would get a great hotdogs but I got something soggy n tasteless. Will not go there again! IFrench fries we're good. Service was good. Rest was drappy and not at all nice looking.prices were ok. That's it! Surrounding area not at all pleasant. That's a picture of our dog, thought it will cheer things up.

What a great place! I was looking for something other than a diner breakfast and found CIC online. I'm so glad I did. Hubby and I stopped for breakfast after an appointment. The banana bread French toast is delicious!! Hubby had the farmer's omelette and he was very happy! The restaurant is small and very unpretentious, not a lot of glitz or glam but very friendly employees and very tasty food!!

Poor customer service with the new lady at the front. She is not friendly like the other people that was there.

Beware of this place do not go there. They are rude and just to let them know if they put my name on somebody else's review again I'm going to hire a lawyer and sue them.

One of my favorite hot dog spots in New York State. The Coney Island Dog is better than what you'll actually get at Coney Island. I live in NYC so haven't been here in year, but if I'm on the highway I'll take to Middletown exit and grab a dog. Dingy divey diner vibes but for the cost and quality it's worth it. And hey, it's next to a bus station which adds to the seedy atmosphere that makes all good diners great.

This place is TRASH!! I have a theory if you can't do breakfast right you should be shut down and this place should be shut down. Everything taste like it's been sitting in a dirty refrigerator. My family wasted our money because we barely ate anything.

Years ago, this was the place to go. But now it's more of a place for ppl getting off the bus goes to. It doesn't get the locals like it should. Locals know places that are good or not. Enough said.

Great hot dogs. Use to go to Petes in Newburgh. These were just as good or better !! Great chili! Fast service. I will be back !!

Went here again with the family. Everything we ordered was great. Chili dogs all the way- can't go wrong. The dessert was like a 5 star restaurant but affordable and presented beautifully. Since the owner is a chef, even typical wraps and sandwiches are ahead of the competition. Don't let the bus station fool you, make this place one of your regular stops.

Hot dogs: good, but make sure to request beef, or they'll give you pork hot dogs Fries: good Burger: decent Cincinnait chili, served on pasta with cheese and onions - great! Desserts: excellent! I've had the cannoli cheesecake and the pumpkin tart, both good, but the cheesecake was the best! Service: friendly, but a little lax Major con: My sister went to use the bathroom and said it was really gross, and in major need of renovations :( I haven't had the breakfast, but co-workers have, and say that they're very good.

Worst hot dogs we ever had. They were fat and microwaved. Gross. Who microwaves hotdogs? one bite and I the garbage. If Icpould give no stars I would. Went to Holy Dog which is fantastic.

Hands down the best New York hot dogs to date in this town!!!! . If you really want the New York experience then definitely try the cony dogs (Hot dogs) your taste buds will thank you greatly and yes there other food options are amazing too you just can't go wrong .

This place has taken a nose dive hard recently. I don't know what happened but it's a not a pleasant experience any longer. The service is now spotty and inattentive. The person behind the counter used to be a friendly young woman and it's now a strung out, irritated young man. The desserts have all but disappeared. I've been 3 times in the past 2 months, and I won't be back.

It's confusing for a first timer...I wasn't too sure if I should sit or order at the counter. I did both, but it seems if you're here to stay, you'll get table service! I wasn't the only one to make this mistake upon walking in. The hospitality here is excellent. The cozy kitchy feeling reminds me of mom and pop places. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with some changes. I personally was satisfied with just half the wrap, but I'm sure I could have eaten the whole thing on a hungry day! I also had the sweet potato fries. I only wish they served them with sauce, which I asked for and they gladly brought. Overall I was pleased, and will be back to try some sweets!

I went here about a year ago in the summertime and I just kept forgetting to write this review, but here it is. I was stranded at the Middletown Coach USA bus stop because the bus broke down and we weren't able to get back on the road for eight (yes, eight) hours and it was scorching hot out. The only food vendor in walking distance was Coney Island Cafe, so I decided to stop in and have a grilled chicken wrap with their potato chips. I give the food two stars because the chips were soggy and the wrap was poorly made. The price was also very expensive from what I could remember for not only the location (pretty much in the middle of nowhere) and for the lack of quality. Since my bus was not for another seven hours or so, I decided to order a drink and just hang out there and read a book to kill some time. I had not been planning to stay there for all eight hours, but I did want to just relax in an air conditioned place after eating my meal. After about a half hour of my meal being completed, one of the counter girls scolded me that I "can't sit there anymore because people are coming in for lunch so you have to leave." I was in utter shock, so I just got up and left and walked back out in the summer heat. Keep in mind, there is NOTHING else around besides the bus station, at least in safe walking distance anyway. The funny part about this was that once lunchtime hit, the table I had been sitting at was still open, along with 10 other tables that I could have sat at. Guess she was overestimating how many patrons would be arriving at lunchtime. Needless to say, I probably won't be in Middletown, NY anytime soon, but for those who are in the area, I certainly do not recommend this place.

If I could give it no stars I would. Worst sandwich I've ever had I ordered the ultimate egg sandwich no where near ultimate basically was a potato sandwich barely any egg or bacon very disappointed . The wait was terrible as well waited 45 min for 3 egg sandwiches don't come here save your time and money.

My 1st time here I Order a pastrami sandwich and omgggggggg it was disgusting the meat looked and taste like rubber if your going to have fake meat at least cook it right. My stomach been hurting ever since never again will I step foot in this place....

Just ordered take out from here for three people. The food was so bad none of us could eat it. The French fries were cold and soggy. The wraps were both made wrong and tasted badly, very dry chicken no flavor and was not at all what was described on the menu. Would definitely not recommend to anyone and will never be ordering from this restaurant again.

The service was good. Very friendly wait staff, however....I paid $6.80 for a "breakfast wrap" and a cup of coffee. It was basically a bunch of bread sprinkled with a little bit a little bit of cheese and a little bit of sausage.

Not as good as it used to be. I got stomach cramps after eating one of their coney dogs. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Seems to have gotten a bit pricey also. The area has become a bit shady too.

I typically do not eat beef or pork. However a friend took me here about a year ago. 2 hot dogs with everything. Delicious. Been back about 3x since then. The most recent trip being last weekend, December 21. The following day I became violently sick- vomiting and diarrhea. Spent another 2 days recovering. My friend experienced the same. And then, to find out the 2 friends we had passed as we were leaving and they were going in, also got sick! All 4 of us became sick within 30 minutes of each other! Never. Again. Obviously food poising. If I could insert the green face emoji I would!

I called and ordered a sausage,egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and a iced coffee. I came to pick it up and I was charged $7. Before 11am they charge $4 for the sandwich and a free hot coffee. So somehow I was charged $3 for ice. Then I get to work and eat my sandwich. I took a bite and it was a little bit crunchy, I thought it was the toasted hard roll. The next bite was EXTREMELY crunchy. I spit out what was in mouth and there was so much egg shell in my mouth. I looked in the sandwich and there was a huge piece of egg shell in the sandwich. The amount that was in my mouth plus what was remaining in the sandwich was equal to half the egg shell. There is no way that the chef could not see the egg shell in the egg on the griddle. The owner is a CIA graduate and should be ashamed that she employs someone who would be so careless.

Diner food at GREAT prices. Atmosphere okay. I usually pick something up for take out. Great breakfast deal coffee and sandwich under $3. Can't beat that!

The Coney Island hot dogs are simply the best. The French fries are also outstanding-crunchy on the outside- creamy potato on the inside. The service is fast and friendly.

Love this place. The owner treats you like family. Soups are all gluten free . She makes dressings from scratch. Amazing place!

Food here is very overpriced for the usually poor quality you recieve. Homemade chips always taste burnt and stale, cupcakes taste more like muffins and have very poor texture, wraps are soggy, and other items are usually very bland. I had bought a cookie from the dish on the counter a few weeks ago and the cookie had obviously been baked a while ago because it was very stale tasting, and also ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and the cream cheese tasted spoiled and like it was left open in the fridge. I wouldnt recommend it and it's usually my last resort when i'm in that area of middletown because their aren't too many options. Something sweet has way better quality food

I have gone to get their hotdogs at least once a month or whenever I go to Middletown and bring them home to eat later on. Had my friend go in yesterday for me since I had not felt well and she ordered me two dogs with everything as usual and asked to be wrapped separately in alum foil which was done but boy was shocked when I opened them up later on to find barely any sauce at all on one ( maybe a tablespoon full if that) and the other one was so so but not their usual brimming with onions and sauce and guess they ran out of mustard as if there was any on them it was so little as to not be found. Prices have gone way up and understand that since everything is up but the quality has fallen way down so will try to find another place to grab my to bring home lunch when it town sorry to say.

What happened to this place? It is not as good as it used to be. As a matter of fact, its terrible. Very disappointing since i have been going here for years. I no longer do.

Terrible service. I walked in this past saturday afternoon, confused as to whether to sit down or not. After sitting down a few minutes, a waitress came and took my order-a simple ham and egg breakfast order. After sitting down for over twenty minutes and watching someone come out of the kitchen and lean on the doorway, as if taking a break, I then got up and told the waitress I couldn't wait and asked her to pack up my breakfast for takeout (I HATE takeout breakfast!). After she stuck her head in the kitchen, I told her that I would just pay for the coffee and leave if they hadn't gotten started. Lo and behold, they hadn't EVEN STARTED my breakfast-despite the man relaxing in the kitchen doorway!! She then gave me some lame excuse about how I came in when they had of lot of "tickets" to fill, which was BS since there were only a handful of people in the restaurant and obviously kitchen staff thought it would be OK to take a break. I then paid for the coffee, which a DECENT restaurant would have comped me for my inconvenience. I doubt I will ever go there again.

I come here all the time! The staff is friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The menu gives multiple selection for each meal and now offers a "you pick two" option and a healthy choice menu. The you pick two option is an extremely better deal then a place like Panera. You actually get meat in your wraps/sandwich, and it is slightly cheaper and of course delicious. They feature daily specials which are also posted on facebook everyday. Since I have been going there, the menu has continued to change slightly to keep the customer satisfied. Their breakfast menu is one of the best and the hotdog and coney specials that have been added truly have the customer in mind. You know what your ordering and what you can add to a coney dog by the menus (that are both paper and displayed behind the counter for to go). The owner is a culinary graduate and knows what the customers want. A MUST go if in Middletown or if traveling and using the bus station!
