Coney Island Drive Inn Largo

If you are looking for a classic, nostalgic spot for a great meal, Coney Island Drive-Inn is a must-visit. I recently stopped by and had a fantastic experience. ​I ordered two footlongs, and both were excellent. The highlight for me was the coleslaw—it was exactly how I like it: sweet with a subtle oniony/spicy kick, and thankfully not overly saucy, so it didn't make the bun soggy. My second footlong with chili and onions was also delicious and hit the spot. ​One thing that really sets this place apart is that you can specifically request all-beef hotdogs. For me, that makes a huge difference in the quality and flavor of the meal. ​The atmosphere is just as good as the food. The restaurant is filled with kitchy and nostalgic items that give it a great vibe without feeling overcrowded. Most importantly, everything was very clean, which is something I always look for in places with this kind of vintage decor. ​To top it off, the staff were incredibly friendly, and they offer free refills (you just have to ask!). If you want a solid hot dog in a clean, welcoming environment, definitely check them out!

Great dogs and sausages. Love the fries as well. Not much to say here other than this is a great place for quality gourmet dogs and links. Try one of their dogs as listed on the menu or make your own.

Second time dining at this location of the Coney Island Drive-Inn and it was excellent!!! Friendly staff to talk to which was very nice!! Order was made and food was ready quickly which also was awesome!!! Hot dog was delicious as usual!!! The entire restaurant has a cool vibe and had plenty of decor to look at!!! Great place to bring the family for a nice time!!! Even the bathroom is decorated!!!

I'm in hot dog love! These guys are the best. Awesome dogs and more, served by the friendliest guys! Good prices and a fun atmosphere too! Tricky to find with Google maps, but worth the effort!

I got to tell you I wasn't really planning on eating a hot dog today but I'm so glad I did... this place rocks... There are plenty of options for everybody not just hot dogs.The sugar sweet lemonade is also really good I will definitely be coming back. Atmosphere inside is friendly and inviting

The COOLEST place in Largo ... They really do put the most effort in what they do...great food and choices(menu), nice portions, fantastic ambiance, they will customize your order, SUPER service, just impeccable...I highly recommend the Largo location even though they have, I think six or seven other locations...CHECK THEM OUT...👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽OH, and the vanilla shake I had was one of the BEST I have EVER had...Delicious...refills on soda too🤫...

The Coney was what you would expect. The chili cheese fries could have been good if they didn't take old fries and refry them. I know the casher knows thats what they did because he asked the 2 other tables how their food was but avoided me. I would only go if you are jonesing for a coney, it will satisfy that itch.

This place is so much fun! I ordered Norm's Bigg Dog, the Ruben dog, and a corn dog - all amazing but this was the best stinkin corn dog I've ever had in my life! The place is clean, the service is great, and I had a blast just checking out the decor and bathrooms 😂 you've got to check this place out for yourself.

Stopped by for lunch today and had a good meal. The restaurant was clean, well decorated with tons to look at and the staff was nice. I really like how when my meal was ready the called my name and said "we've got some great food for Meghan". That sets the stage perfectly. The food was the star. We all really enjoyed our dogs and fries. We'd definitely come back.

My husband and I really enjoyed this place! If you're looking for some good food that reminds you of a better version of the fair - this one is for you! The corn dog was crispy and so good, paired with the amazing cheese fries! I love a good cheesy fry! My husband got the gator dog, onion rings and a foot long corndog just to have it, lol! The inside of this place was awesome! I loved all the old vintage signage and especially loved the Elvis corner! Service at the front was amazing and I love hearing how positive and supportive the manager was towards the crew! I would definitely go back!

Really cool place to get your hands on a coney island dog. I tried the mustard and onion short all beef hotdog x2 along with a small fry. The all beef hotdog was on point and cooked just right. Great flavor on a great bun. It was a little heavy on the onion but certainly nothing I couldn't fix myself by scraping a bit off. The french fries were just OK. Nothing to write home about and accompanied by a ketchup brand that I'm not familiar with, although ketchup is ketchup right? No. Fast friendly service is what you'll get here. The girl that waited on my ended every sentence with "my love." Definitely a place I would come back to.

I've been to the Brooksville location many times, and was happy to hear they were opening a new place close to home. I love all kinds of hot dogs -- Coney, Chicago, ballpark, whatever. But...this location was very disappointing. The food quality is just not there. The worst part was the hot dog itself. Mushy, no flavor, kind of cold -- no "snap" at all. The bun was unimpressive and kinda mushy and slightly too long for the hot dog. My foot-long had enough onions for a yard-long--maybe to cover up the lack of hot dog flavor. I barely finished it. The fries are fine, but if you want cheese sauce, order it on the side. They put way too much cheese on top of the fries and create an over-cheesy mess. At least the cheese sauce is pretty good. The milkshakes were also kind of disappointing. Not actually hand mixed -- just poured from a machine with vanilla shake mix like at McDonalds. I wish it was better. Maybe it will get better. But when a hot dog place starts with a cheap and mushy hot dog -- it's hard to recover from that.

Gator dogs are so good! As is the rest of the menu. And their fried sides are all super, but the fried corn on the cob will blow you away.

Make sure you upgrade your hot dogs. I ordered two Chicago dogs and didn't realize you had to ask for Vienna dogs. I tossed them out, the basic hot dog is horrible and cheap. Order cheese on the side if getting cheese fries otherwise you're getting more cheese than fries. Bummed this wasn't a positive experience.

For someone who is not a huge fan of chili dogs, I am already looking forward to going back for one at Coney Island. Service was excellent, ambiance was fun and the hotdogs were yummy. Fries were also good. Wasn't a huge fan of the corn on the cob, but it could just be me.

I've tried this place three times now and it has been worse each time. Pretty much meh. Sorry, but three strikes and your out. I've gotta find a new go-to chili dog place.

The place is ok. Just nothing special. The onion rings was not that good either. The staff was friendly and good service. I doubt if I would go back.

Never had a bad lunch here and have tried almost everything on the menu! Question is does a hot dog count as a sandwich.

Though the name says "Drive-Inn", it is only in the name, it is a walk-in, carry-out or dine-in, as there are several small booths and tables, and some small surf board shaped tables against the windows on the side. The day we were there, they were 'cash only' on a handwritten sign on the door, presumably due to the power outages from Florida storm Debby. They have 'small' and 'long ' hot dogs to choose from and several variations , such as 'Chicago Dog', plain Dog and several others. The hot dogs were good and the Chicago dog was complete with pickle slice and hot peppers, but were missing celery salt. Buns were not sesame seed buns, but were ok. Service was place your order at the counter and was ok. Time for food to arrive was ok and not unusually fast or slow. The counter fronts are decorated with automobile license plates from what looks like most every state and even some from Canada. Would I go back again? Yes.

The food is amazing! So good!!! the service is friendly and very inviting. The staff were helpful and actually gave good advice / answers when asked about the food. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a hot dog shop up north- so much fun to take the kids! Really enjoyed our dinner and time here.

Coni dog and onion with cheese was great and chili cheese fries was excellent had really good service as well

One of the best Coney Dogs I've ever had. Literal perfection. Combined with extremely friendly & courteous service and a wild interior, this place is a destination! I've been disappointed with so many places which just dump some chili on a hot dog and call it "good". Chili Dogs ain't it folks......CONEYS are where the magic lies. - tasty, slightly thick, coney sauce (chili without beans) - a "snappy" slim dog - be able to be eaten with your hands - Steamed "pillowy soft" bun - cheese sauce - onions All the ingredients are here, and all are top quality. This is a dream come true!

I love corn dogs and I am super happy this place opened. Great customer service. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Check out the toilet in the ladies room!

Had a Chicago hot dog and it was good. They don't have Jumbo Dogs and the dogs are only boiled No grill. Pepsi products with no refills. Surcharge on credit cards and tap and pay didn't work. Clean and plenty of room. Fast service. Colorful decor.

We got the chili fries and dog. Both were pretty good and I would come back for those things. We got a lemonade but it wasn't as good as I expected it would be. The service was great though. Also, they offered to upgrade the hotdog to an all beef dog, for an additional price, but it was good.

Love the hot dogs here! The prices are really good too and there is a decent selection. Sides are a little pricey. I'm really happy to see that if you pay cash it's normal price. It's always clean and everyone is always friendly. The reason I gave it only 4 stars is that a few times the hot dogs weren't hot, temperature wise. But nonetheless, I have been there probably 8 times so far and I will continue to enjoy!

Tried to order as i was in front of of the restaurant however no phone number to be had and I can't walk wasted too much time trying to to find a number!

Ate there with m6 daughter it was good. Then got take out by ordering online. Our order was cold and my hor dog was wrong . Plus we did not get our corn we ordered. We probably won't eat there again. Hopefully they can get better.

I ordered a FOOTLONG beef hotdog and what I was served was an 8-inch hot dog. Why do they advertise "footlong" if they only serve something appreciably smaller? Maybe it started as 12" but shrunk in the water? I emailed the company today and am awaiting their response to see if there is any satisfactory explanation. Note: Coney Island is in New York City --- not Chicago.

It was nice to see that this place has cleaned up alot. Service was great as well but unfortunately the food was very bland. I could not even taste the hot dog so what is the point. Now I see why they put sooo many onions. Way to bland.

Service was great and friendly. And fast. Food was good-I had seconds. As to ambiance it's a hot dog joint. It was plain but fine.

We have been customer to the Coney Island location in Brooksville for well over 30 years. Having this one only 30 minutes away was great. Same good coney's and fries but we didn't see beer offered. A much smaller place from what we are used to and it was quite busy. Their wonderful service will have us coming back soon.

I had a good footlong hot dog and fries that were fresh out of the oil and hot and crispy. I will go back.

Great hotdogs, friendly staff, many different choices that you won't see anywhere else. Loved it!

They've only been open a very short time in Largo and already they jacked-up the prices, sodas are absurd $2.50+ for a small size loaded with ice & no refill, I doubt there is more than 6 oz's in the cup. 4% (3.99%) surcharge to use a credit card which is the way most people pay today, I guess the owners always use cash when shopping at publix, walmart etc NOT! yet they hit their customers for extra, very poor business model, fix your prices to allow cash or credit same same, and to think they just jacked-up the prices and STILL charge extra for the modern way of purchasing almost anything these days. Inside looks very dated and not appealing, dogs are bland and rolls are plain. Sams or Costco's dogs are much better.

I am sitting in the Coney Island restaurant as I write this review. I am actually sitting here eating a hotdog that I did not want nor order. The reason that I am eating a hotdog that I did not order is because I came in originally to order their hamburger, I ordered the hamburger and the hamburger can it was hot and also I ordered a small order of fries and they were hot, OK great. But then I discovered that the hamburger tasted like a water logged Vienna sausage. I Iadvise the cashier that I did not like the hamburger and would like a refund. Actually, I have given this place a second chance today because I actually ordered a hotdog about two weeks back and the hot dog was waterlogged and tasted horribly as well. So now I am just requesting my money back and to pay for the fries which were hot and good. Cook offer to make me another hamburger and the cashier advised me that that is the way the hamburgers taste because they are steamed .I was told by the cook that they do not give refund and that he could make me something else. I advised him that I came in here for a hamburger and specifically to try their hamburger and I did it by sandwich of my experience the last time and I was giving it another try at this time I did not want anything else here. The cook who was very nice stated at the establishment just does not give refund so instead I have to be forced to take a hotdog. He advised me that he would make sure that it was beef. I asked him if not all of the hotdogs were beef anyway I was advised that they have chicken and pork filled hotdogs. I advised him about the hotdog that I had a few weeks back, and he stated that it may have been a filler instead of beef. so I'm having all types of issues with this place. First of all nowhere on the menu there was steak they steam the hamburgers. Also nowhere on the menu devil steak they have different types of hotdogs whether they are beef or chicken or pork also also to be forced to eat something else or just lose your money is just playing wrong. No refunds are you serious I will never come here again. Whoever owns this place needs to get their act together. I have no complaints with their employees I have complaints with the policy, I have complaints with the food. Beware if you don't like hamburgers and water logged hotdogs. By the way, the cook made me a foot-long beef dog it was so so.

Went to lunch there today. A 20 year fan of "Bruce's Chicago Dog House". What can I say 1/2 the price of Bruce's and 1/10th the taste and quality with the skinniest cheap undercooked dogs and cold fries. A sad day in Chicago Hotdog land. One good thing. Frosty Root beer in a bottle. :(
