Spacious place to enjoy traditional Cantonese menu just outside of Chinatown. Staff is friendly and attentive. Plenty of seafood to choose from, though the soy sauce chicken was my favorite. We also came here for dim sum, which I would recommend esp for anyone who is new to it. It is order off the broad menu (not the carts). The advantage here is the food comes out hot and the flavors are nice. Enjoy!

Came here in late February on a cold night. Shared the salted chicken congee, general tso’s, and had room for sweet bread with condensed milk (get this). The staff was friendly and our food came out fresh, piping hot, and delicious! The chili oil is scrumptious with the congee. Great comfort food.

The black bass is super overpriced and not worth the price at all. We were told one fish was around $80 given it is special price. But it turns out to be $130…and it doesn’t taste that good either. We will not order again. The rest of dishes are okay.

I am glad they opened back up and updated their menu from the reopening day. It was great to have Congee again. The food was delicious 😋🤤. Had chicken pan fried noodles, Congee with chicken and mushrooms, baby bok choi and fried garlic ribs. They gave us watermelon and egg tarts for dessert.

I loved it. We had a late lunch and the staff were happy to seat us. Food was outstanding. The tea was fantastic. Washroom was clean.

Good dim sum. A little overpriced but the service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They have a bar at the very front of the restaurant

Great lunch with an attentive staff. I loved eating the lobster, tofu and noodles

Google
The food was extremely well priced considering the location and was delicious! We had no wait to get in, and we received our food very quickly. The waitstaff was extremely kind and attentive. We received unlimited hot tea at no cost and sliced watermelon for dessert. The dumplings and buns were all amazing! Our new favorite spot!

Yelp
Came here for breakfast, ordered congee and some dim sum. Dim sum prices are friendly and taste good. They also have dishes for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is very spacious for New York City.

Yelp
Stopped in here before sure what the Bowery ballroom as I was by myself I was seated most immediately at a table of my choice. There was quite a rotating staff around that was very attentive while I was looking at the menu over a couple of tea. I was able to get an adult beverage from the bar brought over to sip on while the entree and appetizers were being prepared. This place would be awesome for a gathering and for large get togethers which seem to have its own space up the stairs by the kitchens. The chicken was delicious with the fried garlic and onions and shallots and extra crispy as well. Dumplings are very nicely done and I wasn't too full. You might have to order a starch but they will bring you a bowl of rice if you ask to polish off your chicken.

Yelp
Honestly - one of my go to spots in Chinatown for dimsum! They are a little bit out of the way, have a smaller selection than most, but what they do have they do it decently well and usually there's no wait! My go to is the congee, the pork bun, and the lava bun!

Yelp
I was craving dim sum tonight and wandered into this spot. It was easy to snag a table and I was welcomed with a delicious pot of hot tea. I was expecting to see more dim sum options on the menu, but it's really just a small part of their larger menu. The shrimp dumplings were phenomenal but the pork dumplings were a mushy mess. I really liked the piggy buns, which were filled with a sweet chunky custard. The prices are pretty good, so I'd be curious to come back and try some of their other dishes - I've heard that the crab is great.

Yelp
We ordered the food to go, the servers were friendly. We ordered the honey walnut shrimp which was delicious but was a little on the pricey end $25 without rice. Maybe next time, we can dine in for the experience.

Yelp
Congee Dim Sum House is a sister restaurant of Congee Village on Allen Street. It is pretty brand new and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a no fuss authentic and reasonable Chinese restaurant. I'd give all the food 5/5 except the ribs, which weren't actually crispy and were a little too chewy. We ordered mainly vegetarian options but there are plenty of delicious meat options too. The chow fun was particularly flavorful and yummy and I would definitely get that again when I come back.

Yelp
Much better this time. The food came fast and was fresh/tasty. Didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a plate. Service was significantly well improved. The made to order dishes outside of dim sum were much better. They brought replacement plates and more hot sauce when called for. Well done.

Yelp
My friends and I paid a visit to Congee Dim Sum House  at 207 Bowery located & remodeled in its old spot. It's our beloved Congee Villages newest sibling restaurant on the Lower East Side (100 Allen St.). The interior is grand in appearance with the high ceiling wooden panels, sconces and flourishes has an upper floor and lower floor. It has 180-seat dining room, plus three private rooms where guests can enjoy dinner and karaoke, plus a full bar and mezzanine area. Only problem is the dim sum and entrees we ordered sucked . The food cannot even compare to the quality of its sister restaurant Congee Village on Allen Street. The consensus from everyone present was good was bland with no "wok hay" (wok heat flavor) and most dishes had a sweet taste that overwhelmingly dominated the dish. We sampled four dim sum dishes (to order) as some of the dim sum we ordered (ran out earlier) plus a few entrees (as pictured). We thought to start with these first and order more but after tasting these we were disappointed and decided to abort, ask for the check, and go elsewhere. The service was spotty, at best, and our hostess spoke mandarin, with very little Knowledge of Cantonese and English. Out of desperation, we had to point to what we wanted on the colorful menu. In summary, if you enjoy satisfying dim sum, head to Chinatown & Flushing's main stays, 207 is not worth the walk.

Yelp
The décor and wall art is beautiful with a large HD TV. Also there's a counter bar for alcoholic beverages when you first enter. Very nice China dishes, cups, chop sticks and exquisite tea pots. The restaurant is setup like your in a dining room. The round seated table in the middle has a very large swivel turning Lazy Susan to reach all the condiments and available food items. The 3 Stars is for the décor and cleanliness of the restaurant. The food is minus -2 Stars. I left this spot hungry, starving and joking about where's the food to my lunch partners, while shaking my head, no no. I was part of a group of 10 other ladies gathering at this spot for a luncheon, to make new associate connections. The food I paid in advance for was $ 22.99 that's with tax included. The menu photo we were giving showed delicious food on dessert plates. The plates giving are for very small sample food items served. Those cute piggy's in the picture are just cute on the outside. There's an uncooked soft runny liquid egg inside that taste not good at all. We had mini samples of steamed wontons some had shrimp & pork, pineapple filled buns only 9 for 11 people, a fried eggroll with mushrooms cabbage & noodles, and 2 different steamed buns. An egg baked custard in a small foil cup, it was bland & also not good. When the food is brought out & served, its not a lot on the hot plate for a full plates portion. Who can't make tea ? The tea was horrible, it was mostly clear with no color & no flavor. A great cup of tea, needs no sugar. The waitress kept bring out pots of this watered down drink. The servings were for 1 piece for each person of the miniature hoourdurves. There was not enough food for 11 ladies at all. Some even shared and cut in half the small pineapple buns. Those tiny dishes are for serving children. Where was the good looking food you advertised, we never got that food. If I am ever invited to this spot, I will gladly decline the invitation. This was not a luncheon, it was more like a child's tea party. I was so hungry, I ran home to fixed a delicious cup of tea and ate my leftovers & was totally satisfied. I did not get what I paid food. Shame on y'all, what an insult.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and clean. The dish I had was awful. Supposedly burnt pork served sizzling with Chinese Broccoli. More like "ground pork in freezer too long" tasting pork with Chinese broccoli. That about says it all. No I wouldn't go there to try anything else.

Yelp
I went here last weekend and ate the pork and preserved egg congee, shrimp dumplings, chicken feet and black pepper short ribs. The serving size is good. The porridge and dumplings were amazing. The ribs were so-so.

Yelp
Just opened today. This is the third Congee Village location, the second in Manhattan. Since 'dim sum' is emphasized in the name, expect dim sum selections in addition to their usual Cantonese entrees, rice/noodles, and of course congee. Very spacious and conventionally decorated. It's a suitable for banquets, group celebrations or even basic meals.

Yelp
Waited 30 minutes for dim sum that never arrived. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
We came her at noon on Sunday 8/28 for dim sum. Starting with the good - the dim sum we did get was good. I would come back for the food. The beef ho fun was not as good as at their main location, but still good and glad we got it because after sitting for two hours, and still missing 5 dim sum dishes, we were still hungry but could not stay longer. Now for the bad - I have never left and gave up on a restaurant without receiving all of the food we ordered until Congee Dim Sum House. We sat for two hours with each dim sum dish coming out 10-20 minutes apart. We had a table of 7 with young kids who were starving and getting crankier and crankier. Basically the kids were fed first and the two year old who was tired and missing her nap due to the long wait ended up having a crying meltdown and we had to take her out in the stroller and push her til she fell asleep. The worst part is the staff and management would not be honest with us and tell us there was a problem. When we tried to ask the waitstaff what the hold up was and how much longer it would take, they would either ignore us, say soon, or say we told the kitchen. Mostly they just ignored us as we tried to flag them down and ask what was going on. The communication was an utter failure. During this time other customers left without receiving their food. They also continued to let new customers wait and then seat them without informing them there was a problem with the kitchen. Only when we gave up and asked for the bill, did they say one chef did not show up. Why was this not told to us before we sat down? Then we could have made the decision to not waste our time. But I guess fooling customers to make money is more important than making sure they have a good experience. There was no apology or explanation until the bill came. No discount for wasting our time and not being honest with us. They actually tried to charge us for all the items including the ones that never came. They had no clue what we did or didn't get. We had to tell them which items we had not received. I would love to come back if they offered some kind of restitution for this terrible experience as the restaurant was spacious and food was decent. Reach out privately and offer some sort of credit. But this was absolutely one of the worst service failures I have experienced at a restaurant. I should add the restaurant was not busy as they may use as an excuse. The reason there was a wait was because the food came so slowly they could not then tables quickly. We got a 7 person table right away at noon. The trouble seemed to start around then. I haven't written a review in a long time but felt the need to post this.

Yelp
I had an upset stomach after eating the calamari! There is also a male clerk is also very bad, you give him credit card, he was particularly strong that the tip to cash, I was very puzzled that do not need cash, he said vaguely do not know what to say on the way out, then I had to ask again if you can credit card. Later, not too well informed I gave 2 dollars, he thought the money is small, cursing and shaking face, and do not listen to my words, (in fact, said more than I can understand to give) said directly that you can not give! You can't give it blablabla continued to lose his temper as if I had robbed him of 8 million dollars, and then began to talk bad about me with the people around him! All sorts of strange expressions! Actually to be clear I could have tipped more and ended up tipping 15% because a waiter was okay and I was willing to do as the Romans do. But this guy was disgusting! It's not the tip, I gave you a credit card, why do you need cash and be so cross! It's just a couple of cuts, isn't it? I'm speechless! I will never come back to this place again! Not recommended Highly not recommended! Bottomless assholes !!!!Sooner or later it will go out of business.

Yelp
Came for vacation to NY. Are around in China Town but this was by far the best one! They start you off with a tea which I'm really not into but it took away the feeling of full and my stomach felt great the entire time. Love this place. Great customer service. They even remembered us when we returned.

Yelp
Unfortunately did not enjoy the food, I prefer other dim sum spots in the area for sure.

Yelp
had an amazing 16 person dinner at Congee Dim Sum House in one of their private rooms in the lower level. Everything was cooked to perfection and the overall friendly and chill vibe of the staff made the evening even more enjoyable. The Peking duck, fried crab, and pea shoots were definite highlights! Will certainly be coming back

Yelp
To be avoided. The food is prepared "à la minute" in a microwave. The house wine, at $10 for about 4 ounces is swill. The obsequious owner is the server who creates a creepy vibe.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate the Chinese New Year's Eve dinner at 7pm. We had 20 people and we ordered 9 dishes. The foods were very good. The reason is missing an one star, is because each dish took about approximately 30-40 minutes to come. There was only one waiter serving 6 banquet tables, I felt sorry for him for carrying the foods & dishes upstairs & downstairs by himself. After two hours waiting for each dish, the waiter came to tell us there is no more chicken in the restaurant. So we waited for the last dish, which was Peking pork and that dish took about 40 minutes to come. By the time we finished eating the time was about 10:00 pm.

Yelp
This is the second time I've been to this shop for morning tea. I've been to both before, but this is the third branch. The service and quality remained at a good level. The new environment is very comfortable and the weekend is very lively. In the future, Dim Sum House will be selected for morning tea.

Yelp
Can't comment on the food as we did not even make it that far. Got through the door and informed the staff about our reservation to be ushered downstairs only to be then sent right back up and told there are no reservations that were made for tonight bc they are closed for an event. Obviously, it shows poor management and communication amongst the staff since a phone call for confirmation of the reservation was made to us within 2 days of the reservation. Meanwhile, they show us a record of their reservations on, mind you, a legal pad, with no record of our reservation for that night or even mistakenly for the next night, but somehow they were able to call us for the confirmation of reservation. No apology, no explanation, and no effort to try to make amends. They just kept saying they stopped taking reservations after the 13th, which we definitely made the reservation before then. We had to ASK them to at least call the sister restaurant to even just ask for availability which of course there were none on the friday night before new years for a group of 10, but still, an offer of help would have at least shown some empathy for our group with 5 of them being kids. Pretty disappointed in their ability to manage reservations and customer service given our experiences with their other locations. I've never experienced such a huge error in reservations. Good luck with large group reservations!

Yelp
Came here with friends last weekend and had a great time, very authentic Chinese food. I have tried two other Congee Houses, and I think the newly opened Dim Sum House tastes the best. We ordered 2 Cold Dungeness Crab in total, because it was so delicious so we ordered another one. The crab meat was very sweet and the shredded radish at the bottom was very crisp and appetizing. Simmered Ginseng Chicken soup with pork & conch is full of ingredients, and it's nice to have a hot and healthy soup in the cold winter. Honey Walnut Jumbo Shrimp , the shrimps are huge and tasty. For steamed live fish, we tried Barramundi (Lates calcarifer) Very delicious, pour hot oil on top of scallion can stimulate the aroma of scallion and take the taste of fish to another level. The roast pigeon is very fragrant, and crispy. The dim sum and porridge are also very good. The service is also very good, and will explain some details of the dishes and how to eat them for us. There is also an innovative Halloween dish, salted egg yolk pumpkin, which is really delicious. I ate half a plate by myself HAHAHA.
