Consistently decent food. If you’ve been there once, and like it, it’s a safe bet for Chinese food

The portions here are huge! My friends and I came for dinner and even though there was a long wait, it was totally worth it. The food was high quality and reasonably priced. The lobster was packed with meat and so flavorful, the clay pot rice was delicious, and my favorite dish—shown in the third photo—was an amazing plate of Cantonese-style fried noodles (can’t remember the name, but I’m definitely getting it again!). Highly recommended!

We celebrated a good day here, and it was definitely worth it! The duck was authentic, with a rich flavor perfectly balanced by the sour plum sauce and sweet soybean. But we both wished it had been served a bit warmer. The mango shrimp 🍤 with fried chicken was sweet, crunchy and not soggy in the syrup at all! Loved it 😊 The fried noodle was also great, not greasy, not too salty, and did its job well as a satisfying carb. Then we tried something different the other day. Our favorite was the roasted pork, crunchy crispy while juicy. 😊

We had an amazing experience yesterday at this restaurant. The food was very tasty, the quantity excellent and fresh. The variety of chicken dishes is limited. And we were surprised to see that the chicken fried rice had a generous amount of peas! We had never seen so many peas in chicken fried rice 🤣 However, we are surely going to come here again for a meal.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I've been to in Toronto! I ordered the fried rice, seafood congee, and fried tofu. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, with each grain lightly coated in oil and paired with crisp vegetables, making every bite a pleasure. The fried tofu had a nutty, powdery flavor and an incredibly soft texture. Portions were very generous across the board, while the pricing was excellent. I absolutely love this place!

Google
Good and reliable Chinese food in the heart of the city! It’s a bit pricey likely due to the location but the dishes are pretty big in size. We ended up having take out. Great meal!

Unlike the Congee Queen in Mississauga, this Congee Queen has a phone app you use to order your food. I actually prefer this style of ordering, with all its grammatical errors and everything. It just makes the process a lot easier. The portion sizes are decent, with a large variety of everything you would want with a Cantonese chain (expect a lack of beef dishes), I normally go for the staples: turnip patty, char siu and duck, double boiled chicken, gai lan with garlic, etc. Its funny, the only thing I don't get is congee which is what the place is named after. Pricing is also on par with other locations, not giving a premium markup because of the location. Food is always fresh and I haven't had a single bad experience so far. Other than the packed location, I don't see any true faults with this Congee Queen and I recommend it if you are in the area. Just expect to wait sometime depending on the time and what day you go.

I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times, and it remains a great spot for family dining. Conveniently located near Eaton Center, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The congee here is smooth and velvety, perfect for the chilly weather. Their roast duck, BBQ pork ribs, and char siu have a subtle sweetness and share a similar flavor profile. While (Chow -Mein) the seafood with crispy noodles were delicious. The restaurant serves warm tea, which complements the meal well. The seating is spacious and comfortable, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. One downside is that the number of servers seems insufficient given the restaurant’s size. However, the staff remained attentive and did their best to accommodate everyone efficiently.

Google
Great food, big portions. Everything I've tried is delicious. You order by scanning the QR code and ordering on the website. Though they can take your order in person if you're having issues with website or simply don't want to use it. Menu is huge, so it's hard to pick just one thing! A lot of options. But that also means they have different things for different tastes or dietery restrictions. Lots of vegetarian and seafood options for those not eating meat! Their soups and congee is delicious. Congee has various different meat/seafood in it. We loved the one with tiger shrimp. And regular portion of congee is quite big, easily split between two people. Everything here is quite easy to split between a few people. A great place to pick different food and share it, so you try a bit of everything! Gets quite loud during dinner.

Yelp
Really good food and service. Everything cooked to order. The congee by the wor is very good value. Cheung fun rice noodle with shrimp is great. Beef Brisket is so tender with soup noodle. Convenient location on busy Yonge St.

Yelp
Party of four came for late lunch and was seated immediately. We ordered the seafood fried rice, fried tofu, tofu skin/mushroom clay pot, shrimp wonton soup, and veggie in congee. The claypot was salty but all the other dishes were very good. The shrimp wonton has plump juicy shrimp filling, the seafood fried rice had an abundance of seafood bits, and fried tofu was a lightly fried pop. Food came quick and service was as expected. It's a nice place to have a sit down meal in this busy area.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon around 1. We had a short wait to be seated, I like the system they have where you input your name, number and party size on a tablet at the front desk for getting into line. My friend and I had the turnip cakes, duck and chicken congee, and the minced pork with olive and green bean fried rice First off, 3 dishes was WAY more than we needed. Honestly even just the fried rice would've been a challenge for the two of us to get through, portion sizes here are enormous Turnip cakes were the must when my friend recommended this spot and they lived up to the hype. Imagine the best hash browns you've ever had and take it up a notch, even better with the chili oil Congee was solid, the duck was a bit tougher and leaner than I'd expect, but I liked how the egg blended in with the congee. I can see this really hitting the spot on a cold winter day The rice was the one I had the least of, but I really liked it, had a surprisingly nutty taste, but all around very savory and delicious Overall I'd definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you're a local, especially if you can come with a large group. If you're visiting from somewhere with good Asian food, I wouldn't call it a must, but you won't be upset that you came

Yelp
Food was amazing but the service was underwhelming. We had to ask different servers for water, napkins and silverware. It was my first time eating congee. It was pretty good.

Yelp
One of the best Cantonese restaurants I've ever been to. And conveniently located in a touristy area in downtown Toronto! We came here twice for dinner since it was that good and never had to wait for a table since they have a basement level as well so tons of seating. Order easily placed via the QR code provided at the table. Portions are huge! We over-ordered by a lot the first time since we're not used to such big portions in NYC so we learned from our mistake and ordered just the right amount the second time around. Shredded pork chow mein- Noodles were very crispy and the sauce was flavorful!! Definitely one of the best renditions of this dish I've ever had. Shrimp and chicken fried rice in cream and tomato sauce- Always love this dish and the one here was absolutely delicious!! Shredded chicken and duck congee- The only dish we ordered that we didn't love. Very bland overall. A slight disappointment since they are called CONGEE Queen. Fried rice noodle with beef- A classic Cantonese dish. They prepared it perfectly with just the right amount of "wok hei"! Fried chili turnip patties- One of their signature dishes but I found it to be just alright. The turnip patties weren't crispy and I felt like the flavoring could be a bit spicier. This is yet another restaurant with a very extensive menu, which is usually not a good sign. But I think if you stick with the Cantonese classics, you won't be disappointed. I'm so glad we got to try the Cantonese quartet, congee, rice noodles, noodles and rice, here and enjoy all of them. Huge portions are worth another mention here. Will definitely be back again if I'm ever in Toronto!

Yelp
Delicious dishes with huge portions and fair prices. The food came out fast, almost too fast... they are a very busy establishment and do this to move tables. Servers were polite however and hasty to answer requests. Bathroom needs more frequent cleaning, as garbages were overflowing and a stall was in need of attention. It is also very noise so be prepared to yell haha!

Yelp
Toronto is well known as a North American city with quality Cantonese food. Congee Queen was one of the Cantonese eateries I had bookmarked before our trip and it certainly exceeded my expectations. The menu had classic dishes along with newer dishes for more adventurous eaters like us. To start off, we had the seasonal black truffle rice noodle roll with beef and mushrooms, the black truffle essence came through with the more humble rice noodle rolls. The fried chili turnip patties were crispy on the outside and soft inside (with just a little bit of heat). The stir fried sirloin with rice noodle roll in Satay sauce was my favorite with cubes of moist sirloin beef and rice noodle rolls that were nicely charred to give them some smokiness. The clay pot rice with preserved duck and chicken was worth the wait, the crispy rice was browned perfectly throughout without any burnt bits. We also ordered congee with pork offal that was nice and creamy. For dessert, we tried the golden milk pudding that was a bit savory and creamy. The staff were friendly and the decor is more modern than your average Chinese restaurant. This first large meal in Toronto was so delicious that really set our expectations higher for the rest of the meals we had in the city.

Yelp
While staying in downtown I walked by this place twice and noticed a lot of people there. I decided to try it out! I have never had congee before but I was excited to try it. This is perfect for large groups because the serving size of the dishes is pretty big. For dinner we had the following: The duck - 8/10 Seafood congee - 8/10 Fried rice -7/10 Chinese broccoli - 7/10 The staff is very helpful and you can order drinks from them. But when you place your order it is done on the phone through app. The pricing is very reasonable as well.

Brandy D.

Yelp
Come for: the congee, obviously I dined with two others and we shared each dish. Overall portions were large and best suited for family-style dining. Service was efficient and the restaurant was quite large with a lively ambiance around 6:30 p.m. Seafood congee was tasty, but I found adding chili oil from the table and white pepper made it irresistible. We got the large portion without realizing exact how big it would be. There are easily 8-10 servings in the large size, so be prepared to take some home. We also ordered a 1/2 duck, which was juicy and had crisp skin. The shrimp fried rice was over salted but otherwise flavorful. With so many other options on the menu, I wish we had skipped the spring rolls and opted for a more unique dish. Lastly, we had the Chinese broccoli. The chili oil that sits on the tables is fantastic; they should bottle and sell it. I could put this on EVERYTHING!

Cindy D.

Yelp
I have been here on three separate occasions and I'd have to say that they are very consistent with their food quality and service. The people I have been here with all say that the food here is delicious and come in very good servings. It is very easy to not finish everything, especially if you get one dish per person. I am a big fan of their beef chow fun (it is not on the menu so I had to order it via staff), turnip patties and congee. A little on the pricey side but the quality and portion makes up for it! Super nice restaurant with many tables, very suitable for groups to come eat and share food.

Golds V.

Yelp
We came in and were seated close to the door, but it was wayyy to cold for that, and asked to be relocated, and the staff were accommodating. The place is busy but always clean. We had the seafood Super Bowl congee with dough fritters, and if you don't get the congee with the fritter, you really are missing out! This congee was loaded with jumbo shrimp, salmon, and other seafood items. It's great, but we added the hot sauces, and I think it's house made, this honestly adds so much to any dish. The salmon fried rice was much saltier than I remembered it to be, but still very tasty. Good small pieces of fried egg white with salmon and onions topped with I think shredded pork. The snow pea tips were cooked to perfection, and so were the mushrooms on this dish. The food portions here are also quite large, and the quality is great! It's almost like covid never hit this place in terms of those two items! Really looking forward to going back for more delicious foods.

Caryl Y.

Yelp
Everything was really standard in terms of taste. Cant really complain about it given the price of the menu. It was very busy when we went on a friday evening. The place was packed and very loud but we still managed to grab a table for a group of 5 despite not having reservations. We only waited for around 20-30 mins. I think it's a good place to take a large group because there's a lot of choices on the menu so theres always something for everyone.

Lilian C.

Yelp
We reserved a table for 6, originally they didn't have any seats on the main floor for 6, but since the other big table took half of the seats from our table. We were able to sit at the big table with the turn table. It's actually better as we could just turn the table ourselves without having to pass the dishes back and forth. It's more spacious anyways compared to sitting at the booth last time as 2 people are bigger in size. We ordered 5 dishes and it was more than enough for 6 people, then we got mango puddings at the end to finish off the night. We ordered special fried rice with some seafood, Cantonese chow mian, turnip cake, stone plate beef with mushroom and fried tofu with veggies. All dishes were yummy. We chatted until closing time and just kept on refilling our tea. It was a good catch up night with friends. We used mobile order method so less likely to make any mistakes.

Sunny C.

Yelp
I felt very at home here. I was in town for a conference and was looking for places near the hotel that served congee. We were lucky to stumble upon Congee Queen. The congee, pan fried noodles, and calamari were great. The congee was flavorful and the texture was perfect. I would have liked to come back once more during the trip, but we did not have enough time. The calamari was tender and had a decent portion size. I didn't love the roast pork. The skin wasn't crispy and the seasoning was not the best. I would give a 3.5 for service because after our order was taken, it was difficult to flag down the waiter for drinks and a to go container. Overall, it was a solid spot and I would come here again.

Evelyn W.

Yelp
The very best Cantonese restaurant downtown in my opinion. The location is so central and easy to go to, the service and atmosphere are both good. Firstly, every dish I've ordered here has been good so it's hard to single out one thing. When I have enough people to share with, I always order an epic congee because theirs is also silly smooth and almost creamy. I find it funny they have Thai styled goods including pineapple fried rice and honestly, it hits the spot even though it's definitely not Thai. They also have a large variety of meat dishes on the menu that have so far been great, I am slowly making my way down the menu at this point. Also, the portion sizes are massive. I always manage to have lunch and dinner ready for the next day to enjoy.

Michael Y.

Yelp
港式西餐 (HK-style cafe)! Giant dishes! Humongous platters! This is the place to go. The Asians from far and wide make the long journey through the freezing winds and traverse the harsh conditions of the frozen tundra to make it to this destination - the culmination of culinary excellence that is Congee Queen. They have everything from noodles to congee to bbq meats. This is like a one-stop shop for all things HK Cantonese style food. The bbq pork was phenomenal and tender! It is arguably the best in the area! And it is found in this restaurant where it is not purely dedicated to bbq meats. So that is pleasantly surprising. The waiters were cool and talkative too. They are also impressive handling 20-30 takeout orders at any given time - yep, all day all the way to closing. They were carrying those heavy plates and thick dishes too. People were waiting for their orders and others were constantly coming in. There was a line for people who wanted to sit down and eat. All in all, this is a super popular place.

Minnie L.

Yelp
The Beef Ho Fan and the Pan Fried Chili Turnip Patties were very good and a decent side of food (though i think it should be called Singspore Stylr Turnip Cake Cubrs.). Price was very expensive though . We enjoyed the food with a bit of soy sauce and their in house chili oil. Service was excellent here by the host and food servers. But disappointed at the person who came to us asking us to pay when we weren't even half way done eating. It felt a bit rude Ambiance was good. It is similar to a HK bistro but more of a casual atmosphere. It felt a little cool with the wind coming into the dining area every time the door opened. So that wasn't very good.

Shereen C.

Yelp
Enjoyed dining here but this location was not as good as some other Congee Queen locations. ***^ the spice and pepper salt pork chop was fine but not outstanding **** turnip patties were good as usual *** snow peas with garlic sauce tasted okay flavour-wise but many of the snow pea leaves were too tough and probably shouldn't have been sold Ambience- so-so. We were seated near the kitchen and the clanging of dishes was very loud -- it made it difficult to hear conversation Service was good, very responsive 3.5 stars overall

Gerald W.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night after board games. This place is fairly new and very busy. There was eight of us and they joined two tables together. We ordered the House Super bowl congee, Cantonese chow mein, fried turnip patties, Yeung Chow fried rice with shrimp and bbq pork, and beef with mushrooms on sizzling hot plate. The dishes came out fairly quickly one at a time. The best dishes were the congee, chow mein and beef with mushrooms. Great Cantonese food and the price is good as well.

Wayne Y.

Yelp
This is our go to Cantonese in Toronto. Their congees are always delicious and come in many varieties. Other favorites include the noodle dishes and bbq meats such as their charsiu roast pork.

Dru C.

Yelp
Literally a late night Chinese Canto food place in the middle of Downtown Toronto. I love that they have such a LARGE selection on their menu, and it is your typical Canto food place as well. Their whole staff speaks Canto and some can speak mando as well. Literally walked into a typical diner for Chinese people. Me and my friend came in to get some late night eats, and we got the pan fried noodles and some congee. It is truly authentic as well when they make the food because it has a HOT sear feel to the food when it comes in piping steaming hot hot hot! And the best thing is that the congee was boiling and delicious. Gotta love a staple within the Chinese community, and located at literally the tourist spot of Downtown Toronto.

Zi C.

Yelp
We have been to other congee queens and are usually satisfied after the meal. But this location is pretty disappointing. The place itself is pretty big as it has a main floor and basement. We were seated in the basement and it gave a really depression feel to it as there light is dim. The service here is pretty bad. The staff don't check on you. You have to flag them down whenever you want to make adjustments. The food itself lack flavours. We had a crispy chicken and the chicken itself was so dry, and it was cut in big chunks. The sweet and sour pork also lacked flavours. The only thing that was sort of good was the eel fried rice. But the rice itself lack some seasoning too. Won't be back.

Jessie L.

Yelp
Worst congee queen I have ever been to. The flavours were so bland and needed more salt. I ordered the beef congee and fried rice noodle with soy sauce which were both extremely tasteless. The spice & pepper squid was difficult to chew and unpleasant. The turnip cakes were the best item there. Very disappointed and well not be returning.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Wow authentic chinese food and affordable too! You really get your bang for your buck here. I got SO much leftovers because i ordered several dishes and I have zero complaints on any of the dishes. Silken tofu was on point, perfect flavor, cooked the way I expected. Their porridge with salted egg and century egg was SOOO GOOD. and the portion came out HUGE. It was packed with pungent goodness and is so worth it. Their XO pan fried rice roll noodles were amazing. Lightly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Lastly the donut roll with beef came with sauces on the side but i liked the flavor as it came. Everything i had here was perfect and I wanted to eat here everyday. Food was quickly served and service was attentive. I loved it here and I highly recommend. I'd eat here everyday honestly.

Cici L.

Yelp
I stopped by this place during business trip. I try its congee. The Congee is pretty good but the beef chow fun is a bit disappointing.

Nana T.

Yelp
A bit pricier than other locations whoch is expected for a downtown location but still nice ambience and service is fast quick and friendly. Food was made fresh and tasty! I tried the salted fish, pork and eggplant dish which was nice and saucy with salted fried squid and rice. It complemented each other so we I highly recommend ordering these! My usual go to is the fried radish cakes, or fried eel rice!

Reshmi M.

Yelp
Perfect place for ordering Congee (especially when under the weather) online - I have yet to go to the one my friend recommends - it is in Richmond Hill and has a plethora of choices. Very tasty and very generous portions!

Cin V.

Yelp
Clean. Simple yet beautiful modern decor. Service was extremely fast. Love that you can order via QR code without waiting for a waiter. The food was hot and fresh. The portions were perfect. Price was not bad either. This was our first time here and won't be our last.

Emma H.

Yelp
I've always been a big fan of congee queen and I was really happy they finally opened up a downtown location I didn't have a big group of people to go with so I decided to order through delivery apps I ordered assorted Chinese BBQs with Char Siu & BBQ ducks, XO sauce Turnip Cakes & Beef Brisket I was disappointed the BBQ ducks are mainly just bones and neck area :( which had way less meat, the BBQ pork portuon was generous the turnip cakes were salty and heavy on MSG that i had to drink crazy amount of water to feel better the beef brisket was also too salty, taste wise was okay, nothing too special maybe dining in is better but I don't recommend ordering for takeouts or delivery

Hanna H.

Yelp
Came here for a midday snack after strolling around Yonge Dundas Square the other day and knew we had to come back after seeing the packed restaurant! This restaurant really surprised us because we were a little skeptical at first due to the modern name and modern interior of the restaurant itself since great Chinese restaurants are usually not known for this. However, the food was actually SOO good, super authentic, and well made, and can I say the interior and feel of the restaurant was just so nice too?? Service was great, and the presentation of the rice noodle rolls was SO cute too with a little container for sauce on the side and the little sauce container they had for the soy sauce, which had us melting inside! Probably one of the best congee and rice noodle roll dishes I have had at a restaurant. If I lived closer I'd come here every week! What we ordered: - Shredded Pork, Preserved Century Egg, Salted Egg Congee - Beef and Dough Fritter Rice Noodle Roll

Thuha N.

Yelp
Fantastic late night find!!! We came for a warm bowl of congee and ended up with a few additional tummy warming, palate pleasing, and wallet friendly dishes. Giving the location (stone throw away from Eaton Center), it was not as touristy as I expected. The service is no nonsense... order online, food appears, and empty plates cleared.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Food was great. Authentic Chinese. Big serving wow enough for 5 people. We were hungry but we still has leftover. Service- fast and attentive Ambiance- very Chinese with modern decor . We order pork congee hit the spot . Love the broth. Fried tofu vegetables was the bomb. Serving was big . Braised pork with rice was so soft and juicy. They give you free hot tea on the side. Try their boba drink too.

Michael R.

Yelp
The food was ok. However the service was lacking. The server who took our final payment stormed away after mentioning that we did not give him a tip. He refused to give us our condiments with our leftover food that we were taking home.

Angelia C.

Yelp
It was so good. The turnip patties are where it's at and they came out pretty fast. Definitely would get it again.

Jamie K.

Yelp
Having been a regular of the Don Mills location I cannot express how exciting it was to see it downtown. Easy week night dinner after work that yields leftovers for lunch the next day. Fast service and ordering via mobile. Tight space but that's to be expected in the location!! No complaints!

Armen Y.

Yelp
Overall was good experience. The food was big portion, quality was average. Price was reasonable. It was very crowded but we were seated quickly on a Sunday evening. Service was good as well.

Yoland E.

Yelp
I have always passed by Congee Queen and decided to finally give it a shot (and try congee for the first time). I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here! The menu was quite extensive and some items were surprisingly inexpensive. I tried the minced beef congee and chicken & mushroom rice noodle rolls. I really enjoyed the congee, while the rolls were just ok and a bit bland. We had golden milk pudding for dessert, which was quite tasty. The service was pretty good and we were given our food in a timely manner. Inside it was quite lively and spacious. I'm looking forward to coming again, particularly to try new flavours of congee!

Anson C.

Yelp
Great food. Horrible service. Didn't come by a single time except for when I had to ask for tea and water.

Yu H.

Yelp
Wait: none for Saturday evening without rsvp Services ; nice and friendly Ambience : spaceful, two floors, a bit loud coz of busy time Good: plenty of choices for congee and the portion is big for two ppl ( small size). I've ordered a bunch of items and they all are cooked well. Wish I have one in my neighborhood

Alvin L.

Yelp
So many options!! When we finally settled on our order (order from table w cell phone and APP), the food came out quick and was hot. We tried a few things including pork and century egg congee (so good!), egg tofu on sizzling plate, brisket rice (very hearty), and chicken noodles. Portions were good! All food was delivered quickly, hot, and did not disappoint. So many things that we didn't get to try but I would definitely come back again to try more things from the menu.

Gayan P.

Yelp
Congee queen! Congee queen! YES YES YES. Hundred and fifty percent YES! There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING that is not good here. The food is FANTASTIC, the place is NICE, the service is GREAT, and the prices are SINCERE. You don't have to know Mandarin or Cantonese either. Beautiful menus with honest depictions of the food. I will keep going back to this place over and over again. JEEEEEZUS! Thank you lord JEEEZUS for Chinese food and thank you lord for Congee Queen. LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! P.s. I'm a buddhist, but I had to thank someone for the miracle that is Chinese food.

Gerald H.

Yelp
We were expecting a great congee meal, and was definitely not disappointed, the congee was flavorful and very delicious with the salted egg. The fillings in the congee was the most we've ever seen. The fried fish with broccoli was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing, tea as soon as your seated, and there was a nice vibe. This is a hitting on all cylinders.

Jane W.

Yelp
First Time visitng this place was last weekend for my husband's 57th birthday., the food was absolutely delicious! Portions were big and the staff was very friendly. 10/10 will be coming back again.

Kerry W.

Yelp
Went for a walk and came upon this Congee Queen restaurant. What a pleasant surprise!!! My friend and I decided to give it a try, and we liked the food we ordered. Cantonese chow mien had a nice amount of seafood and meat. And the tofu vegetable dish was a good size. Service was fast. You can ordered the traditional way with the servers, or you can scan the barcode to order on your phone. The food came out fast and hot. Yum! The only thing i didn't like was the narrow space between tables. I felt uncomfortable watching people turning sideway and felt like their butts were wiping down the side of my table. Other than that, happy to have Congee Queen downtown Toronto.

Chuan C.

Yelp
This is the only Congee Queen in downtown Toronto. It is their newest location; opened 2022-07-29. They don't take reservations online or over the phone. You go there and they will text you when your table is ready. If you use their app, it will show you where you are in line! We ordered the following: H1. Empress Fried Rice ($20.50). It contains eel, fish roe, crab meat. The addition of the eel in fried rice elevates the taste of a typical fried rice. CQ11. Stir Fried Sirloin with Rice Noodle Roll in Satay Sauce ($17.50). The steak is tender. The rice noodle roll is really good too. K34. Fried Bean Curd with Vegetables ($18 25). The tofu was briased just right. The vegetables were Chinese broccoli, carrots, and Shitake mushrooms. The decorations are beautiful and modern artistic. They also serve alcoholic drinks. There is seating on the ground floor and downstairs. Service was as expected. If you pay by cash, you getv10% off the after-tax price. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.  There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs and one gender-neutral wheelchair accessible washroom on the ground floor. There is paid neighbourhood parking and several parking garages in the neighbourhood. There are booster seats. Review 2022-091

Yelp
The food was really good. There is an extensive menu but mostly seafood-based so for those who don't like seafood just be aware of this. We ordered mushroom tofu congee and pumpkin/crab meat/vegan shark fin congee as well as vegetable noodle soup and chicken hofun. The portion sizes are huge! But really good food and it was cold-ish the day we visited so the food helped warm us up.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this! We were seated immediately and food came really fast. Portions are really big, even the small congee we could barely finish. However, we found it very refreshing and authentic. I loved the mixed seafood we got but some of the fish was a little too gummy for me and hard to swallow. Otherwise, scallops and shrimps are really on point. The mango cake pictured was great top off to everything we ate. Loved the condensed milk with it

Yelp
Overall food was decent but huge portions. We could have easily feed 4 people. We had pumpkin, crab meat and imitation shark fin congee, satay beef fried noodle and fried grouper with broccoli. You have to ride via a QR code. Seating was quick and food was delivered quickly.

Yelp
Prices here are definitely on the higher side compared to other Congee Queen locations we've been to. Service is also worse especially your food taking an unusual long time to arrive. Came here on a Saturday at 11 am opening time and we were seated immediately. Server took our orders at 11:08 and we didn't get our first dish until 20 mins after. 15 mins after getting the first dish we flag down a server and inquired about our orders. That's the only time we got our second dish. In hindsight we finally got all our orders around 12 noon and by that time was already hungry and frustrated. I get it that this location is busy plus it's a weekend, but to wait for your food for almost 50 minutes is totally unacceptable in my book. In the end, we just have to pack our food to go since we already lost our appetite from waiting. We normally enjoy our food when we dine in other Congee Queen locations but this time the food we ordered in this downtown Toronto location are mostly hit and miss. Cantonese Chow Mein ($20.25) - crispy, saucy and packed with lots of seafood and veggies, this dish is not bad. Soft shell Crab Fried Rice ($20.50) - fried rice on the salty side and soft shell crab which should be the star of this dish has a lacklustre taste and not crunchy enough. Spice and Pepper Salt Squid ($15.50) - squid is rubbery, tough and chewy. This is the last dish that came from our order and you can tell it wasn't cooked properly and definitely was rushed. Spice and Pepper Pork Chop ($16.50) - the wonderful combination of spicy, salty and crispy that you normally taste in this dish is lacking in Congee Queen's version. Just a mediocre and blah dish and didn't enjoy. Red Bean with Black Jello & Ice Cream Freeze ($7.25) - surprisingly enjoyed this drink as it has right sweetness to it and very refreshing. We paid cash to get 10% of our bill which is the only good thing about dining here. I don't think I'm coming back again in this location even though it's closer to home.
