We've been going to the ones in Manhattan for years and this one may be better. The steamed freshwater Bass was amazing. Perfectly steamed and the candle to keep it warm was awesome. Snails were excellent along with all the staples. The thai style chicken feet were diffrent.. tasty, and boneless!

You really feel like in Guangzhou here, no matter of the atmosphere and food. The roasted pigeon and the chicken congee is best in classes! Highly recommended.

We been here few times and the quality/flavor of the food had gone downhill. Even my dad( who literally eats everything and usually doesn't complain about anything) said the food were salty, overcooked and chewy. We ordered 6 dishes this time, the razor clams were extremely salty and rubbery, way overcooked. The beef dish was overcooked as well, they were tough to chew( the flavor was fine). The flavor of noodle dish was fine, but when the server brought the dish out, the noodles were barely warm(even the plate is cold), it looks like pre-made. The others dishes were ok, nothing stands out. Very disappointed with this place, not coming back again.

Huge portions. Great service. The menu is pages and has any special dish you could imagine. I had goose intestines as well as 8 other dishes with my friends. Perfect experience. Price was very very reasonable.

I recently had a family lunch here, and I must say, the experience exceeded expectations. The food was incredibly flavorful, with generous portions that are perfect for sharing.staffs were friendly. One of my fav dish was the beef stew with rice rolls served in a casserole. The rich, savory broth paired beautifully with the soft, chewy rice rolls. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy!

Probably the most frequented Chinese restaurant by our family. Now this is some proper Cantonese fare!!! We love everything, dim sum great, regular dishes great. Just come for a stellar, proper Chinese meal. And yes, the congee is really good too.

Absolutely amazing as always! Every dish hits the spot every single time I come here. What more can I say? I’d give it 6 stars if I could! Wholeheartedly recommended!

This one is a sad one to write — feels like Congee Village is a shadow of its former self. Came in on Saturday for a brunch (arguably the most important meal for a restaurant like this), and it’s clear the place is understaffed: service is slow (and inattentive) and food was very mediocre. The decor and China is a nice touch, but is surely showing its age. On food - we ordered a variety of dishes: from dim sum (buns 流沙包, gluttonous rice dumpling 咸水角, and chive dumplings 韭菜饼), walnut shrimp with broccoli, conch and tofu mix, as well as a couple of bowls of congee — the preserved pork and century egg as well as sampan congee: the traditional options. The chive dumplings were the best, I’d stay away from the walnut shrimp and conch dishes, and if you prefer the congee on the savory (and candidly salty) side, then perhaps this will suit your taste. I wish I had kinder things to say but this may be the last time I come here.

I want to say this place has been here forever but this was my first time here. The restaurant itself was decent sized. There's dining tables on the first level but the bulk of the tables are on the lower level. There's a cool pond with some koi fish right as you come down to the lower level. Plenty of tables with private rooms in the back as well. The have a full menu as well as dim sum carts flowing around the dining area. You can order the dim sum right from the carts. The food was delicious and the service was good as well. I'll be back for sure

The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. How do you have so many employees on shift just to walk around and do nothing? Nothing we tried to get someone's attention worked. Not raising my hand, not saying we wanted to order, and making eye contact only made them look away. They did not even care when we got up and left; they did not even acknowledge us. There were plenty of empty tables and way too many servers with big bluetooth headsets for them to be acting like we weren't worth their time. I would not have cared about anything, not even them doing prepwork in the dining room, if we could have just eaten congee and sweet potato pancakes. But no. Save yourself the frustration and go anywhere else. We ended up going to Prince Tea House where everything was cute and the servers knew how to do their jobs.

First time visiting this place for dinner with some friends, but had been here quite a few times for dim sum lunch. Quality of food deserves a higher rating than most reviews for this place shows. Service can be improved though, as 1/2 of our dishes ordered weren't even served when we practically finished the first 1/2 of the order that did come out. Also lighten up on the amount of garlic please!

I finally visited Congee village here in Flushing after many years visiting the Manhattan restaurant only. I must admit this location is very cool! We had family visitors from West Coast and this was a convenient place to meet. The food was very great! See photos! We order classic Chinese dishes and was very happy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I love the old fashion decorations; it's look a museum! Definitely will visit the Flushing restaurant again.

Congee village has been my goto for the not so hectic dimsum place. I like it that it's not overcrowding, you can sit comfortably. For a dimsum restaurant, they don't open until 10:30 and if you want congee of noodle dishes, they aren't available until 11am. I don't understand why people have to wait until 11. For the most part, their food is solid, doesn't really stand out. I do like they're made to order steam rice rolls, the cilantro is my favorite. I think their portions are pretty decent and service is good.

4.5 Stars, rounding up to 5 Stars! I honestly don't know why Congee Village has such a low rating! I've been here several times, and each time, the food & service was fantastic. Now I have to admit, some of the prices are outrageous!! Barramundi Sea Bass (2.5 lbs) was a whooping $95!!! And a big plate of Snow Pea Leaves w.Garlic was $26!! Crazy high prices but the food is delicious! The Barramundi Sea Bass dish was a large portion, and has to be one of the best fishes dishes I've ever had in a Cantonese restaurant. Other restaurant also serve this dish but Congee Village's version is outstanding. (It better be at $95!! lol) Customer service is excellent. The servers are always friendly and attentive; very accommodating to my senior relatives. Note that there is a parking garage in the same building as Congee Village but does NOT offer a discount to Congee Village customers. Rates are $12 for 2 hrs; $15 for 3 hrs...not too bad! You can take the elevator straight up to the restaurant from the garage. This has been the most requested restaurant for my relatives from San Francisco. A visit to Flushing is not complete until they get their Congee Village fix! Hahaha

Came here with a huge group of people which was great because it allowed us to try a bunch of different dishes. To start off, I always love the Sautéed Snow Pea's Leaf with Garlic and Lobster with Sticky Rice. They were definitely a table favorite along with the Pork Chop in Peking Style. It was a couple of people's first time having frog was that was fun to watch as well but frog honestly just tastes like tender chicken so we all enjoyed that as well. The only dish that I thought could've been done better was the Honey Walnut Jumbo Shrimp. It was just okay because I felt like the breading was too thick and it wasn't crispy at all and overall was just lacking in flavor as well. The honey walnuts in that dish though were still delicious. I will definitely be back here again. Probably with a big group as well next time because I do want to try quite a few more of their dishes and probably some dim sum dishes as well!

Service here was okay. The dishes we ordered were great and got to the table very soon after ordering. I came with a group of 3 and we sat comfortably. The tables weren't super close together like what you'd get in the rest of Flushing and the AC was flowing. I hadn't known this gem existed for years. The sampan porridge ($8.50 per order for 4 small bowls) did not have the usual ingredients, but it was delicious nonetheless. I added a deep fried dough to go with the porridge for $2.50 and was happy with the portions. We got sweet & sour pork for the table and it was fried and flavored to perfection. I couldn't stop eating it and the portions were huge. I would definitely order this again. The fried filet fish dish with salt and pepper was disappointing because the ratio of fried fish was less than the saucy side. There was complimentary fruit after the meal and desserts too. Looking forward to ordering more of the sweet & sour pork next time and trying more dishes.

Despite low Yelp ratings, this place is legit especially for late night cravings. Food meets the Chinese grandma criteria, affordable ( cheap), gives lots of food, and tastes good. I recommend

Weekday lunch was quiet in the huge space. We ordered a beef congee and seafood fried noodles. The congee serving felt small but the noodles were delicious and generously sized. There were dim sum carts being pushed around but we weren't in the mood for that. Service was ok.

First time at congee village and I really enjoyed my meal! It was a gathering for my family and we order so many dishes - we got soup, lobster stir fried sticky rice, fried mantou, sweet and sour pork, and of course the Peking duck Service was super quick and responsive, we had dinner around 7pm on a Saturday and there was a good amount of tables open but still busy. Great place for the locals and older folks to gather for dinner. I really like the interior and how spacious it was compared to other restaurants. My favs from tonight were the Peking duck with the bun and the sweat and sour pork. I did wish the buns were slightly thinner or the duck was sliced thicker but delicious nevertheless.

My friend and I stopped in while waiting for a shop nearby to open and it paid off! We didn't check the reviews until after we had sat down and the low rating had us worried, but our experience was great. It's a surprisingly large restaurant with lots of cool decor and plenty of seating. There were also a ton of people there which speaks to the quality of the food I think. The dim sum cart stopped by several times and we had more than enough food. Everything we tried was really good and I definitely would go again, even though I hadn't planned to go on the first place!

Tried to eat here yesterday, and I say tried because after rudely being pointed to a table and given menus nobody seemed to want to take mine and my friend's orders. It was not busy and there were plenty of waiters walking around with their hands behind their backs doing absolutely nothing. I have eaten here before a few times and while it did take a little while to get service those times it was nothing like this. We ended up just leaving to go to a different place that actually cares about customer service. If I could give zero stars I would, never wasting my time trying to eat here ever again. It's sad because I do really like the food from here but there are plenty of other places in the area you can get the same stuff

I came here with my family as a really large group. My uncle had already arranged a private table and paid for this 11 course meal that came in at over $1000. The majority of the food was not good. It was just bland. The thing that really bothered me was some of the higher priced menu items were not served. For instance, we were supposed to get duck. There was no duck. We did get an extra soup. But soup and duck are not in the same tier whatsoever so I don't really think that's a fair trade. I wouldn't really recommend this place.

Wonderful spot for a family or group meal. Friendly staff. Very busy and so it may take a while for the food to come out. I've previously come here for Sunday DimSum, definitely check it out for an expanded menu. Food is fresh, piping hot and flavorful. I especially loved the fish (can't remember the name, but it had dried radish, this dish was the definition of umami.) Nice place for dinner after a lot of shopping and exploring in the area.

We had a team lunch here and reserved a private room in the back, which was perfect since it also came with karaoke. One of my teammates took the lead and ordered for us, which made the experience even more fun. I'm a big dim sum fan, so I was excited--and the spread didn't disappoint. Everything we tried was tasty, but the duck was definitely the standout for me. The only thing I would have liked was for the staff to be a bit more engaging, but overall it was a great time and a solid spot for a group gathering.

congee village has been a staple since childhood. the food is always gas and huge portions. the service is always yum and it's very classic canto dishes

Dim sum for brunch. Everything was tasty and hot. The cart lady was not super attentive; there were moments where we had to flag her down. A very nicely furnished dining room, but noisy.

Food is average but the services is bad. We have to keep chasing our order. The head waiter with a bad attitude to respond our request. Never again!

My husband and I love the food here, so we decided to dine here again on a Friday evening. Food is delicious as always, and staff are busy but very friendly. We look forward to dining here again!

This Congee Village in Flushing wants to do too many things, and ended up mediocrely in everything it does. The place was somewhat busy and noisy while we were there. You can find dim sum, rice & noodles, hot dishes, bbq, and even Peking duck ... etc . We went because of the congee and it was very ordinary and average. Don't let the restaurant name fools you. We will not repeat as there are many choices in the general area. If you plan to patronize this place, have some cash on you because the waitress will tell you they prefer cash for gratuity .

We used to frequent their other restaurant in Allen St in Manhattan. The food is always good. We always get the Garlic Chicken. The restaurant is very clean. The staff dressed in proper uniform. Good restaurant for Chinese meal.

wandered in here on a sunday afternoon and it looked so pretty so we decided to dine in. we were in between meal times so we just missed dim sum but they have crystal shrimp dumplings and rice cakes on the regular menu so we got what we wanted. i am glad i didn't see the yelp reviews and just went in because it was a 4/5 star experience, definitely not as low as the average on here. party of 3 so we just got a few little things to share. the entree plates are meant for family style so we only got one and still had leftovers. this was nice trad cantonese food. we got bitter melon with beef and it was delicious, however needs more beef. just was too tired to point it out to the servers after a long nyc day. the servers are helpful once you get their attention. and the classy vibe inside keeps you distracted. i would come back with my parents or something. it's good for groups inside.

Congee Village is my family's go-to restaurant for family dinners. As many times we've had dinner there, I can't believe I've never wrote a review. Food is always delicious. I've recently realized that the portions haven't been as big as previously but the food is still good. The wait service is usually great. The main waiters who take the food orders can be a bit pushy and hard to get a hold of. I guess the lower you are on the totem pole, the nicer you are. Wishing Congee Village continued success in 2024!

Had a great dinner party here yesterday! We got a private room for 13 of us, and it was a great experience! The servers were attentive, changing plates often, and most of the dishes were delicious! Some of the group's favorites included the crab, lamb chops, and salt and pepper pork. The soup dumplings were very underwhelming, and the lobster was okay, but would recommend most of the other 20 dishes we ordered

Great for big family & friends dinners in Flushing with private dining rooms and good service! Their rooms also have karaoke as well! My family has been coming here for a few years and my most favorite dish is their salty egg yolk Dungeness crab & their oysters with garlic sauce & vermicelli.

Best place for dim sum and ginger. Service was a bit slow. But the atmosphere was energetic I would go back again

The congee village is a nice place to have a dim sum/ congee brunch or a special dinner. You can have a private room or eat in the main room. They have prefix menus if you are undecided as to what you want and money is no object. We had a wonderful time at dinner and the service was excellent. The wait staff was attentive and changing plates as needed. Look forward to coming back for brunch'

Definitely one of the better dim sum places in the flushing area. It's also very clean (including bathroom). The fish pond is very pretty and they have a horse statue next to it also. Love the decor. The food is good, their beef rolls are the best I've had in queens. They're huge and soft. Their pork chop dish is big and one of the best also. I definitely recommend congee village, we come here often. Service is good, wait staff is attentive.

Very good food. One of my father's favorite restaurants- authentic Chinese food had the dungeness crab and a lobster fried rice and roasted pigeon. Came back a couple days later had veggie dishes and soup. Wonderful meal on Holliday of November 2024.

Seems to be pretty popular spot for lunch for asian groups. Loved the internal decor. The servers were very nice and very willing to help. It was easy to request more food / dim sum items. Food was okay, but overall very salty. For the lobster rice, the lobster was delicious but the rice was dried - and it was just too much rice. I would recommend ordering a plate of lobster with ginger and scallions and a different type of fried rice to balance out the meal. The noodles were yummy and vegetables tasted fresh. The salted fish, chicken, and eggplant dish had a watered down, salty flavor. The mini pineapple buns were delicious, just make sure you eat them while they are warm. Be careful when eating the custard buns, the filling was more liquid-y than anticipated. Lastly, I thought the chinese sticky rice tamale was nasty so probably don't get that. Otherwise I had a good experience eating there with my family. Although with all the amazing food spots in Flushing, I probably won't come back to this one.

Ambiance is amazing. But not enough crab meat in the e-fu noodles with crab meat. It shouldn't be costing over $20 when it barely has crab meat. The congee are all pretty affordable. The guilinggao is ok. The tea has a deep earthy and herbal flavor. Service was pretty fast. They gave me the check asap when they saw my hand up. It wasn't slow. Tables are too big for just two people. I recommend groups of 4 or more. But you don't have to worry about space to place your bags. The free watermelon was nice.

Don't expect the best service here (you really have to go out of your way to flag a server to ask for anything), but the food has always been consistently good. My favorite/go to's are the scallops. For less than $30, you get a plateful of scallops and sugar snap peas cooked to the perfect crunch.

We really don't drive to Queens unless we're visiting 2 of my sisters who live by Kew Gardens for the holidays. So when one of my husband's ex-colleagues and her husband invited us to dine here on a Saturday in early May, we couldn't say no. Hubs' friend's initial plan was to hit the Bowery location but scratched that to avoid chaotic Manhattan traffic. Their '36-36 Prince St' entrance looks more like an office building than a restaurant- so exited and turned the corner. Congee Village is grand- at least I think it is. It opens to the main floor, walkway leading to a dining room and stairs for their main(?) dining space below where you get the full scope of their open kitchen. Since hubs' friend and her husband frequent this location, they actually ordered for us- especially when I told her I'm a Pescatarian and love vegetables. Plus, she talked to the servers fluidly throughout our meal and requested anything in particular. Beverages were great and everything else went uphill. Hubs' and friends enjoyed the crispy boneless pork chop dish and the sautéed beef chunks+veggies. She raved about the lobster sticky rice she usually orders for her family and ordered it for the table- except, she'd asked our server if it can be prepped without the bacon(?). Negative. Hubs and his friends enjoyed it. The fish+veggies was great and so were the vegetables dishes I ate. Service was pleasant and so attentive. I'm not even going to try and figure out why the low rating here because hubs' friend fed us well with Congee Village's fiery delicious meals.

went for dim sum and sat down immediately here. The ambiance inside was lovely and refreshing to see in Flushing. There are definitely a lot of restaurants that have underwhelming storefronts and when you're seated, you are wow'ed. The dim sum we had was amazing and the flavors were great. We did notice that the dim sum dishes were a little different than the classics that we know and love but they still do it so well. Be ware that you will indeed need to flag down staff to order your food because the restaurant can get quite busy.

I discovered this place by accident. It was next door to my hotel so I went here for dim sum. It was great. A lot of variety. I also ordered egg drop soup to go. This is my new favorite place for dim sum! I definitely want to go here again in the future.

Congee village is our go to spot for family dinners in downtown Flushing. It is one of my dad's favorite spots because he claims the flavor is always consistent and we definitely have a few go to orders: garlic roasted chicken, walnut shrimp, lamb chops, beef ho fun and any of their soups! We always end up over ordering and having leftovers but I will say the portions are pretty good, can be a little inconsistent sometimes depending on the day you go. They are very busy during key holidays (CNY, Mother's Day, Autumn Moon Festival, etc.) and the dishes can feel a bit rushed from the kitchen with smaller portions sometimes. They do offer a cash discount if you pay with cash but I've found this to be inconsistent too, sometimes they offer you 10% off and other times they remove the tax from your bill which is closer to 16% but we usually do try to have some cash on us to take advantage of this as cash is king in Flushing. The ambience is slightly elevated from your classic Cantonese restaurant and they have ample tables and seating downstairs once you enter the main entrance. I haven't tried their dim sum yet for lunch but would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an authentic Chinese meal.

Five stars for the authentic Cantonese cuisines! They are the foods that I remember being Cantonese style. I have been there 3 times. Have not been disappointed !

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant. The chicken was very tender and even though it was fried pieces (sesame chicken) it was very light to chew. The staff was extremely accommodating, we had a time crunch to get to a museum and the hostess pushed together a small table and bar stools for us in the bar. The restaurant is the most beautiful Chinese restaurant I've ever been to.

Thankfully, it wasn't an elderly person or a child who bit into the wire. The piece of wire was inches long, extremely sharp, barbed, and completely different from any dish-scrubbing wire we use at home. tried reasoning with the manager, what if someone ended up in the hospital. The manager replied, "Just send me the bill." No concern at all for the safety to customers!!! This place is horrifying !!!!!!

Have been here a few times now, didn't know they have dim sum as well, great for sharing! They have deboned chicken feet if you like that. Congee didn't have much flavor so you can ask for salt and pepper. Other dishes are pretty standard.

Razor clams, sizzling beef, and snow pea leaves dishes were good. Lobster with ginger and scallion was dry. Xiao long bao was terrible. The skin was super thick. Portions are very small for the high price on all the dishes. Service was ok.

Thought the food was pretty well seasoned and overall not bad. I don't particularly love the food besides the flavor and didn't take that many photos. Favorite dish was probably the long intestines. Service wasn't bad and there were a lot of people there for dinner. Overall, mixed feelings about this place.

Food- food is decent and basic Chinese style so can't go wrong usually. I use to go to the Chinatown location as a kid with my family and get the bamboo rice but it tasted different when I had it recently. The food here is usually decent but the salt and pepper pork chop was extremely salty but we had it with rice so it worked out ok. They actually gave us two desserts on the house after our meal which was a pleasant surprise. They gave use the classic red bean soup and a scallion almond cookie? The cookie was warm, and sweet and savory. The cookie was my favorite. Overall food is decent. Service- I saw a lot of people not liking the service but when I came all the staff was very nice. So all is good ~ Vibe- it's a standard Cantonese atmosphere. The decor is a little random at some parts but overall is nice. Definitely a family vibe and I can imagine it can get loud when the place gets full but this is the atmosphere I grew up with so I feel at home. Overall, it is good :D

Last time I was here was two months after they had opened. Stop coming because the service was so bad for both dine in and take out. Unfortunately, not much has changed. The restaurant receives a two star rating because the food, decor and value are all decent. Some of the food was even really good, like the Clams in Black Bean Sauce, Steamed Oyster in XO Sauce, and Fried Squid with Salt & Pepper. However, I could not give three stars because how bad the service was. Where do I start? How about waiting over 45 mins to be seated when we had reservations. Then another 15 minutes to order after I told the waitress that I was ready. When she did come, she kept pushing expensive live seafood when I told her that most people are meat eaters only. As the meal started, we received some wrong food, and some without serving utensils. Then beers that were at room temperature and ultimately over charged us by at least half a dozen beers. We tried to argue but ultimately just wanted to get out of there. I will not be going back again.

Food was okay, service was slow to get basic things like drinks and water. The large oysters were good, but other seafood dishes left much to be desired. The fried whole chicken platter was delicious as well.

Been craving for good decent congee for a while. The ones I had were either too watery, not enough meat and flavors in there or just don't taste right. But this pork and century egg congee's the bomb! They say NYC's the land of food, bunch of hidden gems out there for you to explore. I've tried a lot of dimsum places but I actually like the har gao from Congee Village best. It's packed with shrimp and the skin is actually soft and thin! Unlike the other ones I had where their skin's too thick. Oh! Not to mention bitter gourd!! It's a hot or miss dish, either you're a fan or you hate it. I can't say much about it as only lovers would know the love for it. Pretty much like durian. Well, peeps do check out congee village if you're craving nice congee or part of the bitter gourd fan! ;)

The ambiance and atmosphere is very classic. I also really liked that I was able to walk in without a reservation. The food was excellent and definitely Asian comfort food style. The lamb chops were my favorite dish since they had a nice crispy sear on the outside but were still juicy on the inside. Would recommend that for the snow pea leaves to be cooked with whole cloves of garlic for extra flavor, but they were still very fresh and tasty. The squid was slightly over salted to perfection and crispy without having thick batter. It would have been nice to have more clams, but the flavor was on point with the black bean sauce. Definitely going back to try a few more things when I get the chance.
