The Red Cottage was great. The rooms are spacious and very welcoming. The bar in the main Virginia hotel (Ebbitt room) is cozy and the server, Danica, is excellent. She was both efficient and truly a pleasure to interact with. All of the staff was excellent and great and making us feel welcome. We go every President Day weekend and have never had a bad experience.

Cozy warm, extremely comfortable and clean room. Breakfast and Dinner at Blue Pig Restaurant each day was delicious. Guitar performer one night, and pianist the next in the Brown Room. Hotel smelled fresh and looked bright and cheery. Service staff were all so accommodating and sharp. |Off season in Cape May with all the amenities you need right at Congress Hall makes for a relaxing and elegant and pampered getaway.||Thanks to All who made me feel this way

I absolutely love this hotel. It's the oldest seaside resort in America. It's absolutely charming. It has a restaurant, The Blue Pig, with excellent food. There's also a coffee shop with bakery goods and sundries, along with a couple of small gift/clothing/souvenir shops. I asked for a quiet room on our 3rd visit, and the request was not honored. Also, we were shut out of the fabulous Thanksgiving buffet, and I firmly believe there should be a spot available for everyone staying at the resort over the holidays. The decorations are amazing, the lobby is welcoming, with a fireplace and cozy seating. Two bars and a beautifully decorated yard round out the experience.

Another wonderful stay at a perennial favorite. Taking advantage of the mid week off season rate booked a room ocean front with a balcony. The room was such a pleasant surprise as it was really large. The windows were Victorian walk through type with wood sashes, a nice touch of old and new. The balcony is narrow but large enough for two rockers and a table and faced the great lawn and the ocean. Out bathroom had both soaking tub and large glass shower. Everything was just perfect! Large walk in closet great for two women on a friends get away. Valet and hospitality from the front desk was great and they even sent a fruit tray for a celebration we were having. The Brown room had the fireplace lit and was full both nights and they had music also mid week which was great to find. All around this stay just sealed the deal that staying at Congress hall is a splurge well worth it.

First time here and it won't be the last. Great location, decorations, staff, restaurants, bars, and service. I had occasion to dine alone at the last minute and Dave, the host, seated me at a lovely table in a great location where I could enjoy the beauty of the room and all the activity going on. I also had a need to go to CVS for meds, and Greg, the Night Manager, was kind enough to drive me over in the golf cart so I could make my purchase. Great customer service. Overall great experience. Can't wait to return.|

We did not stay or dine at Congress Hall, so I can only comment on it as a site-seeing attraction. The Hall is located in the area where you'll find Cape May's acclaimed Victorian homes, so it's easy to take in if you're in the area. For us, the most interesting aspect of our visit was the history and photographs in the hallway leading away from the lobby, where the shops are. That took us about 10-15 minutes, but we like to read everything, so . . .||We're not shoppers, but I suspect that if we were, the few tiny ones inside the Hall might have had little attraction given that there was so little in them. We did however enjoy resting in the rocking chairs behind the Hall and taking in the sites. We also enjoyed relaxing for a few minutes in the bar in front of the fireplace. Those gave is a small sense of what it might have been like to visit the Hall in its heyday. All in all, for us, we wouldn't recommend going out of one's way to see it if your time is limited. Riding bikes through the neighborhoods to take in the stunning Victorian homes was the highlight for us.

Not only is this hotel steeped in history and the tradition of the east coast's first seaside resort town, they know hospitality! The hotel is located perfectly near the ocean with views galore! Our room provided the unique opportunity to see BOTH sunset and sunrise through the same window! Fireside couches, a cozy upscale bar setting and dining/shopping options on site make for a complete vacation experience. We will return!

There is no better spot than Congress Hall in Cape May. You are in the middle of the action so you can valet your car for the weekend and walk to shops & restaurants, not to mention the beach! That's if you even want to leave. Between the Brown Room and the Veranda, there is always something going on. The food and service at the Blue Pig are always top notch. It's the perfect home base for exploring all that Cape May has to offer in any season!
