Hello fellow travelers, are you looking to camp out? You happen to be in Belize City?. This place will do. I say this place fits The backpacker far better than the suitcase traveler. Are you looking for upscale amenities? Look elsewhere?. Here you'll find simple accommodations. What do you get with your hotel? You get a key. You get a bathroom complete with toilet paper, hand soap and a shower. Be careful with the shower curtain. Mine fell down a couple of times. I met the owner. She's a lovely lady. Very personable. This is an old house which was converted to a hotel. It's got charm. You're near everything! My personal stay here was with a group who was traveling to do some ministry work in the country. This location was able to accommodate the group of 18 for the time we were staying. At night the streets are peaceful. If you need some action you have to go across town near the casinos. My final impression is you get to do hotel camping here with the basics like TV and a mini fridge.

I stayed here for 16 pleasant days, very nice if your working on a budget. |The service from the staff was faultless, and you get that feel of home away from home. The AC was super cold which is definitely needed and room was comfortable. Its very central to local shops, eating places and banks which makes it quite easy to maneuver around. Whenever i called on staff for any request i was always greeted with a smile and zero attitude. Would i stay at Coningsby inn again? Most definitely and i would also recommend it to anyone who's taking a trip to Belize city.

First of all, very good location for anyone that wants to be near the buzzing city while also being in a calm region. It's just 1 block from the governor's house and one block from the seaside. Next, the service is great thanks to the owners who's trying to help with any inquiries and is always more than glad to provide interesting spots or local insights. The rooms are pretty good but maybe a little bit worn out from time. Considering this is a small business that had to suffer from covid and then government's gold standard, the state of the building is good enough. The Wi-Fi is good across all the rooms and facilities. There's a nice balcony on the upper floor and a kitchenette. While on the ground floor the reception has several seating spots. Finally, considering the price, this is a great option for some days in the city.

We liked the hotel well enough to return for a second stay. Very friendly and helpful staff (owner arranged for an early-morning taxi to the airport). Our rooms were very clean, good-sized, and the TV, Wifi, and bed were all good. Good breakfast for $5 US. Better than average coffee, but it was hazelnut or some other flavored coffee. During daylight hours, it is an easy walk to the bus station; everyone says, don't do the walk at night. It was $5 US for a taxi to the bus station.

As we were spontaneous, this was the cheapest available place, but I won’t recommend to stay there. We booked the queen size bed but got a small one, the room wasn’t very clean and the staff didn’t seem to care, as they left both a trashcan and a bucket of dirty water right in front of our room (?!) and let it stay there until we left. We left after one night but couldn’t get a refund for our second night.

Booked to go on a tour and this was the starting point, the owner was awesome as she let me check in at 6:30 am and this was greatly appreciated. Tea etc was offered and also if I wanted to purchase breakfast - room was pretty basic but the water was hot and for that reason it’s 3 stars. |Breakfast was ok, not value for money.|Staff there that we met were so lovely and that was why I also gave it 3 stars. |If you want a basic hotel that’s value for money in Belize standards with friendly staff go here.

There is no security guard in property or no staff stays in property in night. When I arrived the door was locked from inside till 30 minutes I was waiting outside in sunny weather it was to hot. In morning there was no water in shower to take bath when I complained this to the receptionist she was like I was only one who have complained about there is no water. She was like she can't do anything if there is no water in shower. My booking was for 7 days from that 4 days I was alone in the property no other guest was there and also there were no staff in night nor security guard was there. Then from 5th Day wifi was also not working again same reason from receptionist that only your wifi is not working all other rooms wifi is working no one complained. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone from my friends or family. This is the worst property I have seen. As I am from the same industry. It's not at safe to stay year they mentioned that they are 2 star category hotel but in my point of view this property do not fall in any star category hotels list.

Coningsby Inn is in the historic Belize City and directly water front. Affordable rooms and delicious meals. The owner and staff are great. I’ve now scheduled two events at Coningsby with guests from across the world and across Belize. And everyone has a great experience. This is a real Belize gem.
