Coniston Hotel Wollongong

After having an amazing lunch in the bistro a couple of weeks ago, it was decided to go again to celebrate a birthday. Food is amazing! honestly it is really good, just the waitress was the let down. She was so rude, whether i asked a question about the menu, ordering or collecting the plates. If you don't like your job, quit. No need to be off putting or rude. Other then that, atmosphere is lovely, food is amazing!!

Very nice, clean and modern rooms. Quiet room, despite view over the neighbours backyard and carpark. Couldn't hear the bustling pub and bistro downstairs (with seriously great food) at all. Power split system air con in the room was very nice. No room service, and bistro closes at 9pm - so plan to eat early.

I had not been to Cono Pub in a million years and was a little apprehensive when my partner booked us for a night when we were coming down from Newcastle (I’m Wollongong born and bred, him not!)||I was thoroughly surprised at how great this place is. The decor of the hotel was so modern and fun, the food at the restaurant was fantastic, staff really nice and the accomodation really is no less than 4 star quality. The owners should be really proud of how good this place is now. Would 100% stay here again.

Recommended! Wednesday Night for $20 Steak and Thursday Night for $1 Chicken Wings! Hotel : The hotel is clean, with a good shower and a comfortable bed. The Wi-Fi is acceptable as well. While the room is small, it's not too bad. However, the only downside I experienced was the AC/Heater position, which is too close to the bed, making it either too hot or too cold. Additionally, there isn't much room to move around, and I don’t have a proper desk to work from in my room. I also found that the room isn't very soundproof; I could hear other people's alarms at 5:30 AM and footsteps in the hallway. Overall, I still love this hotel. Bistro : I love all of their food and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion sizes. On Wednesday night, I had a steak for $20, which was more than enough for me. On Thursday night, I enjoyed chicken wings for $1 and sweet potato chips. I was surprised because I thought the $20 steak would be small, but I mistakenly trusted the picture, which made it look like a snack. The taste was excellent and very flavorful.

I spent 3 nights here on a recent trip to Wollongong. It's right over the road from Coniston Station - so you can either walk into the CBD (about 2 km) or take the train (2 minutes). The train into Sydney takes about 90 minutes. My room was a good size and was warm, clean and comfortable. I was a bit concerned about the possibility of noise with my room being over the pub ... but I did not hear a thing - so the sound-proofing must be good. I ate in the bistro every night and thought it was excellent. All the staff seemed cheerful and helpful. I'd certainly come back here next time I'm in the area.

This place had it all. Restaurant, bar lounge, banquet facilities. A family friendly place and warm & friendly welcome from staff. Our room had a balcony where I enjoy my coffee! The meals were amazing and were a big serve.

I stayed for one night due to a business trip, and this is the cleanest bathroom I've encountered in Australia over the past ten years. Additionally, the room was remarkably quiet. Thank you very much for providing such a perfect place for relaxation.

I stayed 4 nights last week, here at the Coniston Hotel. The Hotel itself is very nice, the menu is great and the staff are very friendly. I stayed in a king size bed room and it was perfect. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and immaculate.
