This Small Thai Island Is a Global Wellness Destination

"A remote southwestern-point resort whose villa experience includes a sapphire-tiled pool running the length of the villa with sweeping sea views; on-site food and culture offerings include Botanikka café — a raw-cement space furnished with abundant houseplants and weathered leather armchairs where “tailors” (baristas) roast robust Chiang Rai beans — and Jahn, a cosmopolitan steakhouse that contributes to the property’s unexpectedly urbane vibe. The adjacent Silapa boutique and gallery showcases Thai women artists, including Aksorn “Khing” Khumchaem’s print Fear of a puffer fish; Khumchaem’s Instagram caption is preserved: “Will I make it?” The resort’s Iris Farm, established in 2019 and shepherded by bellhop-turned-farmer Payap “Pong” Khunkayan, houses goats, chickens, ducks, quail, two piglets, a golden Lab named Kiki, and a Thai mutt, Coco; Khunkayan’s background on a durian orchard and his role in running the farm are noted, and Iris Farm supplies about “70 percent of all ingredients consumed on property.” A hands-on workshop on herbal compresses described ingredients as a Thai still life — “stippled makrut limes and leaves, galangal, ginger, tamarind leaves, lemongrass, and turmeric” — and treatment-room rituals included scrubbing heels with green pandan-leaf salt, the tying of a threadlike bracelet with a Thai blessing, and the instruction to make a wish and cut the bracelet off in three days." - Adam Erace Adam Erace Adam Erace is an award-winning food and travel writer, restaurant critic, and cookbook author. Our experience at the Conrad Koh Samui was absolutely unforgettable. The resort itself is breathtaking ,from the panoramic ocean views to the private pool villas and incredible sunsets that look straight out of a postcard. Every detail feels luxurious, peaceful, and perfectly curated for a dream vacation. But what truly made our stay stand out was Mark. He went above and beyond for us from the moment we arrived. Whether it was helping us ,answering questions, or making sure we were comfortable and taken care of, he was genuinely amazing. His kindness, professionalism, and personal touches made everything feel effortless. You can tell he truly cares about guests having the best stay possible

If you’re looking for a romantic and stunning escape with luxury “White Lotus” vibes, Conrad Koh Samui is the ultimate destination. Built on a cliff on the island’s west coast, the resort offers cinematic panoramic views of the ocean and the iconic Five Islands, something you can enjoy from everywhere in the resort, whether you’re floating in your private infinity pool, dining at the restaurants, or simply walking around the resort. The sunsets here are absolutely magical. Unlike most resorts in Koh Samui that face east, Conrad’s unique location on the west lets you enjoy golden hour right from your villa or the poolside, with colors melting into the sea every evening. The design throughout the resort gives off White Lotus vibes: elegant, serene, and truly immersive. Our villa was massive, with a huge infinity pool and terrace, beautifully designed, incredibly private and well maintained. Waking up to those endless views from the bed or the bathtub is an experience in itself. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of fresh and delicious options, and the service throughout our stay was genuinely warm and attentive. We also loved the unique beach walk area - lined with statues, tucked-away corners, and little romantic spots that feel like your own secret hideout. It’s not just a beach, it’s a whole experience. The only downside is that the resort is quite isolated (which is part of its charm), so you’ll likely have all your meals onsite. While the food is good, the prices for lunch and dinner were expensive (relative to Koh Samui) - even compared to other luxury resorts on the island we’ve been to like the Four Seasons and Banyan Tree. For such food price, we expected something more exceptional. Still, for those seeking tranquility, privacy, and a romantic luxury escape with breathtaking views, Conrad Koh Samui is a standout. We left feeling recharged and in awe of the natural beauty surrounding us.

If you get a chance to go here, jump on jt. This is a wonderful resort with excellent friendly service, wonderful food, incredible views and luxurious rooms. We absolutely loved it, and had a wonderful 5 star experience. Getting the buggies around is necessary, but also fun and the concierge team, especially Chompu and Marvin were super helpful and friendly and very responsive over whatsapp. We could walk to and from our room to Aow Thai for breakfast and diner, but otherwise called a buggy to go anywhere because it really is very steep. I was worried about needing to go to Aow Thai every day before the trio, but once there I was so sad to leave because it was so good. I could happily eat at Aow Thai every day. In fact, we cancelled other bookings so we could spend more time there. Both breakfast buffet and dinner were superb. The breakfast buffet has everything from English breakfast, pastries, fruits, thai curries etc. The dinners were really good, especially the red curry, bbq night and lobster curry. Minnie, Nok and Martin were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, providing excellent service and helping us learn some Thai phrases. Same again at Jahn with excellent service and some of the best steak I've ever had, cooked to perfection. The rooms are big, luxurious and have amazing views, with very private balconies and pools, we weren't overlooked at all. We had a premium ocean view villa at 218 and it was perfect. The beds are really comfortable and the pillow menu has some good range too. The huge rainfall shower is really good and the massive bath was very relaxing. It was so peaceful and luxurious. At the Spa, Pennie was really welcoming and friendly on our first day, chatting with us while waiting for our buggy. Pui and Nan provided really excellent massage and spa treatments, I've never been so relaxed. The beach crew (sorry missed their names) were friendly and helpful with jetskis and just offering to take pictures for us when we went for an explore. The staff at this hotel are a real credit and make it a genuine 5 star experience to match the beautiful environment. I can't say enough good things about the friendliness, welcoming smiling nature and high quality discreet service from everyone we interacted with from cleaners to buggy drivers to restaurant staff. I'll definitely be going back, we loved the Conrad Koh Samui!

Third time staying at this terrific property. The views, food and service are as good as it gets. It is nice being welcomed back in subtle ways, such as a door mat saying so on arrival to your villa, stuffed animals with your names printed on their shirts, and staff that remembers you and your preferred foods and bevs. Despite a number of staff being rather new to the resort, they all performed their work with utmost care. Ni in the breakfast restaurant is a total gem and exemplifies hospitality at its best. Only one thing management should address: the glass rails in Aow Thai restaurant have some smeared fingerprints that can be easily cleaned. Looking forward to the next visit....

This is an incredible property - and has become an annual destination for us as each year. Despite staying at many other resorts around the world, this Conrad continues to remain my favourite. For me, a stay here is about a serene escape with incredible views, a place where privacy and connectedness merge. You have privacy in your villa, and elsewhere at the resort you have whatever type of community and connectedness with the team and other guests that you’d prefer. Your needs are always exceeded, and service is both top notch and anticipatory. This was our first trip traveling with our infant, and the resort made every aspect of this as easy as it could be. Before we even arrived, they helped arrange everything we needed in the villa and throughout the stay found ways to include someone who couldn’t even crawl yet into various activities such as the farm tour. There’s even a great baby menu at all of the restaurants. The villas have incredible views - the sunsets and views of the moon and islands are stunning. The food is also excellent and the resort offers a unique set of activities which we appreciate - spanning the farm tour to coffee/kombucha workshops at the cafe. We’d recommend participating in some of the special dining experiences, such as the Moo Kra Ta. Throughout our most recent stay, we had an excellent experience across all of the team members we interacted with. But, a special thanks goes to Toey, Nuch, and Marco. Despite being home for only a few weeks, we’re already starting to plan and think about our next visit!

first of all I would like to thank the staff, that was always friendly and helpful and made our stay just better. we had the sunset villa and it was just a great place to wind down, relax and decouple from the world for a few days. weather (end of November) didn't allow us to do much activities so we mostly enjoyed our villa, a stroll to the next village, the gym and the food.

The Conrad Samui is a wonderful property. Despite some front desk communication issues the service was wonderful. Marco does a great job. Zue and Penny in the spa are fantastic. The villas re wonderful. And service is generally great. Breakfast is top notch and dinners at the property restaurants were always faultless.
