I recently visited Conrad's Crabs & Seafood Market in Parkville, MD, for the first time over the weekend, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing across the board.
First and foremost, the customer service left much to be desired. The young man at the register was neither welcoming nor accommodating. As a first-time customer, I was hoping for a bit more guidance or at least a friendly attitude, but instead, the interaction felt entirely transactional. When I asked for clarification about the menu, I didn't feel like my questions were valued or addressed with any kind of enthusiasm.
Additionally, I inquired about a price discrepancy between what was listed on the website and the price shown on the television screen in the store. The young man asked a coworker about the difference, and her response was simply that the website hadn't been updated. She made no effort to adjust the price or even notify a supervisor, which struck me as unprofessional and dismissive of the situation.
Despite the lack of customer service, I decided to go ahead and pay the listed price. When I received my food, it came out in less than 4 minutes, which struck me as odd--especially since I expected the crabs to be cooked fresh. The young lady behind the counter explained that they had just had a batch come out, and since they had been busy all day, they were anticipating a rush. However, when I got home and tried the crabs, they were cold and clearly not fresh, which was a huge letdown.
In the end, I was completely disappointed with the overall experience, from the lack of customer care to the quality of the food. Given how many other seafood spots offer both better service and fresher food, I won't be returning to Conrad's, and I can't recommend it to others.
