Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de Genève

This is an absolutely wonderful place - they have several green houses so even in the winter there are some beautiful flowers to see! They also have some animal displays - we saw deer, flamingo and goats. The best part is - it’s free!

Entrance opposite Geneva Schengen station (there are several) Free entry. I can't recommend this park enough. Absolutely stunning. Tbh, I was surprised how few people were there. This may have been down to the extremely high temperatures the area is experiencing (mid-August).

I like visiting botanical gardens when I go on a city break and this has to rank amongst the best. Beautiful, well tended gardens very much with a natural focus but with more formal gardens too. Lovely meandering paths and water gardens as well as a fabulous set of green houses. Definitley worth a visit. We went twice in one long weekend. Was flowering when we were there but I am guessing the wisteria we saw coiled around a frame on the path with be something!

Very nice place in Geneva. Suggested to do a walk, interesting plants and also some animal. It is free and it is perfect for families with children to learn something new, or also with some friends.

So beautiful, with plants truly from every corner of the world. While I'm no expert in landscaping, the arrangement of the plants were amazing to look at and made navigating the garden very easy so that everything could be seen. It's free, so there is no excuse not to go.

We went on a rainy Sunday. Because it was raining and it was December and cold there weren't that many people. The entry is free.

Very beautiful and really nice food. Free entrance, make a reservation to eat (real easy via their site).

We enjoyed a wonderful stroll here and visiting the green houses. Beautiful place to explore soak up some sun and just relax. Very close to the United Nations

This is a beautiful garden in the heart of Geneva. Entry is free, and the garden is not very big, so you can walk through in an hour. There were some animals to see, cool plants, and many spots to sit and relax.

First off, this botanical garden offers free entry. This is an amazing find. There are flowers and plants from absolutely everywhere, they have bee hives, a zen garden, glass greenhouses...something for everyone. The grounds are extensive - you could spend hours wandering around. This is a great spot for individuals, couples, or families. Picnics are also welcome here! If you're in Geneva and don't stop by the gardens at least for a quick stroll, you're missing out. It is easy to get here by bus from the train terminal, and there are other sites nearby like Lake Geneva.

As I like going for walks, we headed to the Botanical Gardens near the United Nations. What's nice is that this place is very big. I would imagine it'd be nice to run around and see the flowers but alas it was cold today and not many flowers blooming outside. There's a great view of the lake and the mountains on one side of the gardens. The other side has a couple of greenhouses filled with lots of different plants & flowers and *gasp* no entrance fee like in SF. Oddly though everything's very quiet and no staff around. There's also a bunch of birds, peacocks, ducks, geese, bucks, and goats. There's a playground too. It's nice to go into the greenhouses to shelter ourselves from the blistery day outside. Plenty of parking around the botanical gardens so go for a nice walk or stroll with your loved ones.

This is a wonderful area in which to take a stroll on the outskirts of central Geneva directly across the street from the Lake. There are some great trails that allow for tranquil meandering. The park is sizable and the greenery often creates compartmentalized settings that border on ethereal. The greenhouse on site is not huge but is better than most in terms of the quality and variety of plants it offers. There is a catwalk in that structure that allows one to see the vegetation from above. There are live animals kept in a section on the northern side of the park. Included are sheep, deer and aquatic fowl. There is also a resident peacock roaming around. All of this makes it a fun visit for the kids (if just being outside isn't enough). There is a set of cafe tables and benches not far from the cafeteria building. On a nice weather day, these provide a great place to hang out. There is also a small Japanese garden toward the north side of the park that provides a little change of pace in terms of the style of floral arrangement (look for the Shinto torii). In general, it is definitely worth planning to see this lovely Garden. It does not require a huge time investment and, in the end, you'll be glad you made the effort.

A nice place for an evening run, although it is annoying that they close so early. There is a little zoo where you can see some deer and peacocks. Not a memorable park but nice enough.

We've only briefly skimmed the surface of this park but we'll be going back again, and again. On a hot day it was a just the place to be, shady and cool with running streams of clear cold water. We saw a newt and plenty of fish. We ate our sandwiches while sitting in a tree (which I now know was probably against the rules that say pique-niques should only take place in authorised areas) and then we continued walking along the lake into the other adjoining parks. It really is a wonderful area of Geneva, so many parks. They have special exhibitions. The one at the moment is about maths and gardens.

If you like plants and gardens, then this is definitely a place to check out if you have more than 1 day to check out Geneva. It is a wonderful place to explore and walk around. There are several parks connected along the lake and you can walk from one to the next, without even realizing you have exited one and entered another. The botanical gardens are pretty obvious when you enter them as you will start to see the large green house buildings. In the larger buildings there are actually stairs to walk up and have a nice overview of the plants inside, the trees growing inside are quite larger so you feel like you climbing into the top of the tree. On a cold day, this is a nice escape as the green houses are kept at a constant temperature. But, to enjoy the nice flowers outside, you want to go when the flowers are blooming. From the park you can also get one of the small yellow boats that have several stops along the lake front in Geneva. It's a nice way to see the lake and the waterfront of Geneva is great from the water.

Just a gorgeous place for a stroll, a picnic, or to just sit and admire the myriad of flowers and trees. The Ville de Genève has very kindly also supplied free wifi, so if your a digital junky (like me), you can even stay connected.
