"The Victorian-era glass and wood structure, which looks like a sugar-coated castle atop a grassy slope, is Golden Gate Park's oldest building. It's also one of San Francisco's most splendid historic sites. Wander through five different galleries housing 1,700 species of aquatic and tropical plants along with the world's largest public collection of high-altitude orchids. The potted plant gallery featuresrare flowering plants and an assortment of decorative urns and containers from all over the world, including a leftover from San Francisco's 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. Keep your eyes open for special exhibits, including the annual Butterflies and Blooms , whichtransforms the conservatory into a magical garden aflutter with hundreds of butterflies."

We got the 3 day pass and it was totally worth it! Saves money if you want to visit the Japanese Tea garden and the Botanical Garden too. Come and go as many times as you like for 3 days. We came back to the Conservatory of Flowers twice! My favorite garden of the three, by far. Incredible plants, feels like you're in a jurassic jungle! Gorgeous exotic flowers. Benches to sit enjoy for a while. Ps- smell the brown and yellow orchid! It's intoxicating! Plants for sale and bistro tables for snacks.

What else would a plant lover want? We had gone there on a free day, so there was probably more crowd than usual. The white building is stunning. Inside is a huge variety of plants - I realized that I have most of these plants at home, because they are tropical plants, dracenas, monsteras, palms, croutons, hibiscus, but here they were much larger in their carefully grown environment. Loved the display.

Google
The conservatory of flowers has several environments, including an aquatic plants room, two tropical areas emoted plant displays. Like most conservatories, this one has orchids Another tropical flowering plants, but the aquatic space was the most interesting to me. A reasonable entrance fee gets you access to this amazing conservatory. Parking may be a challenge, so prepare to walk a distance if you don't get to golden gate park near the conservatory early enough. Open seven days a week all year long.

The staff provided great service, and I really enjoyed taking in all the unique plants and stunning scenery. There were so many species I had never seen before—it made me reflect on how much of the natural world is still waiting to be discovered. The only downside was how crowded it was; the walkways are narrow, so it was a bit of a challenge to navigate through the crowds, especially with many people stopping to take photos or admire the greenery. I’d love to return during a quieter time when the focus can be more on immersing myself in the experience, rather than trying to weave through people without bumping into anyone. That said, I completely understand the excitement—everyone wants to witness the beauty of the place. While the crowding was a slight drawback for me, it’s certainly not a reflection on the venue itself. Also, if you want to go to this place as well as the botanical garden and Japanese garden, you should buy the three park ticket deal. I didn’t know about this until I got there.

Google
Get the Golden Gate Park pass so you can visit all the attractions! I loved this place and it has some pretty interesting plants in there! If I had gotten the pass I would’ve saved some money. I had already gone to the botanical garden and the Japanese garden when I found out there was a pass.

Do you enjoy natural soul candy? Check out the Lord's great works here, then. Besides how delicious everything smells, the flowers, carnivorous plants, and aquatic plants are unbelievable. Spend an hour here in the least. Bring lunch and enjoy.

Google
Enjoyed the exotic flowers. Bought the Golden gate park pass and this was included in what I will say is a very good deal. Would advise to also visit the Japanese garden and the Botanical garden. Twise the price give access to 3 Parks for 3 days. Great deal. 🥰🙂

Google
Get the three day pass that includes the tea and botanical gardens. Went on a Sunday afternoon in July and not crowded at all. It's worth visiting if you are in the park.

Yelp
I can't believe, with as many time I've been in this area, it was our first time at the conservatory of flowers. The kids and I had a great time walking around this beautiful preserve. It also looked like a lot of people were taking advantage of the lush grounds outside as well for some R&R or a picnic. We have a gardens of SF annual membership, so it was definitely a worthwhile stop. The annual membership includes the botanical gardens and Japanese tea garden as well. If you're in the area, and a fan of flowers that have a nice selection.

Yelp
You know me...this year was a finale of tourism for me...I hadn't been to a short list of places around the Bay Area in 20 years...I visited the Conservatory of Flowers for the first time...I had seen the outdoor view of the building...walked by biked etc. so many times...I volunteered at the botanical garden...decided to visit today...it's free for residents... Actually, it's a simulation of a tropical humid rainforest...more similar to the Academy of Sciences rainforest simulation at Golden Gate Park...humid and green...the greenery is lush and resembles lush greenery in a fantasy...refers to South America...Amazon rainforest? Hawaii is more tropical. San Francisco is a concrete cement brickyard...It's worth visiting for fun...it takes 15 mins and 15 minutes to go on a walk...maybe there is a community group meeting...the plaque says it was commemorated in 1970 to connect to Kew Gardens in London...I have never visited Kew Gardens... This year I revisited the gardens at Golden Gate Park...it's interesting.

Yelp
The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is a true gem and holds a special place in my heart, as I recently held my wedding here. The stunning Victorian greenhouse, surrounded by lush gardens, creates a serene and enchanting atmosphere that was perfect for our special day. Inside, the conservatory is divided into different climate zones, each meticulously curated with a breathtaking array of plants. From the vibrant, exotic blooms in the tropical section to the fascinating collection of aquatic plants, every corner offered a beautiful backdrop for our wedding photos. The butterfly exhibit was a particular highlight, adding a magical touch to our celebration. The staff and volunteers were incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating, and supportive throughout the planning process and on the day of our wedding. Their passion for horticulture and dedication to maintaining the conservatory's beauty truly shined, making our event seamless and memorable. The Conservatory of Flowers is also impeccably maintained. The pristine walkways, well-labeled plants, and overall cleanliness made for a comfortable and enjoyable experience for us and our guests. The venue provided a perfect, tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, creating an intimate and unforgettable setting for our wedding. Overall, the Conservatory of Flowers exceeded all our expectations. It's a beautiful, tranquil haven that showcases the wonders of the plant kingdom in an extraordinary setting. I highly recommend it, whether for a visit or a special event - it's an experience that stays with you long after you leave.

Yelp
The greenhouse with many tropical plants but not worth the price for tourist. Inside you will find many tropical plants and flowers, the centerpiece was the lotus on the water. It is humid and hot inside so come here on a cold day will be perfect. It is not that big, so nothing really amazed me so I only spend about 20 minutes maximum for here. There is a restroom next to it but not inside the greenhouse. After it, you can enjoy the flowers outside the park!
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
I saw such interesting plants here! So many different species of orchids. There are a few rooms you walk through with varying levels of humidity. You can walk through the conservatory in 20 ish minutes at a nice pace. I highly recommend going here because it's right next to the Golden Gate Park!
google avatar

Yelp
The Conservatory of Flowers is like a climatron but with a Victorian-era touch. This greenhouse is one of the oldest of its kind in North America and it houses an impressive collection of exotic plants. Walking through its rooms, each dedicated to a different climate zone, is like stepping into an oxygen sauna. If you love botany or historic architecture, this one is for you.

Yelp
Gorgeous Botanical Garden! I grew up in the SF Bay Area and I only got to visit the Conservatory of Flowers a couple of months ago. The outside looks so huge but the inside is much smaller than it appears. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to an hour max to view the entire place. The temperature inside is super warm for the tropical plants, so keep that in mind when dressing to visit this place. I love how it feels like you're in the middle of a tropical oasis, I wish I had a garden like this in my backyard. Plan ahead and get tickets online, there are discounts for military and students.

Yelp
Golden Gate Park has a lot to do outside so it's easy to forget about things that are inside. If you want to see lots of flowers and plants but want to see them all together in the same place, this is such a place. The Conservatory Of Flowers is one of the park's top attractions, and the building itself is impressive as well. A crap ton of native plants are here. You can even host events in one of the many rooms including banquets, weddings, and other stuff. Cool place to check out flowers. It has a lot of history. This was completed in 1879, making it the oldest building in the park. It was one of the first municipal conservatories in the United States and is still the country's oldest remaining municipal wooden conservatory. The Conservatory was made of wood instead of the iron which was common in the later 1800s because wood was plentiful in the west. It seems it was constructed of indigenous California Coast Redwood, so it was an appropriate choice. The Conservatory is the oldest wood-and-glass conservatory in North America that is open to the public. In the building are several rooms with unique conditions. The Aquatic Plants room has similar conditions as the Amazon River. Many carnivorous plants that thrive in hot, humid environments grow in here. The Lowlands Gallery has plants from the South America tropics. Also there's plants that produce products such as bananas, coffee, and cinnamon. The Highlands Gallery has native plants from South to Central America, an area known for higher elevations. Its plants collect moisture from the air, and from water that drips from the trees above. The Potted Plant room has various unusual plants. A cool thing is done here. The pots and urns were made by various artists, so it's a good way to show off talents. Have to go for a visit if you like flowers. It's got lots of these, as well as many interesting plants. The Conservatory is free for city residents, and it's closed on Wednesdays.

Yelp
So tropical! And relaxing. About 30 mins to walk through. Free with SF address on ID; about $10-12 for adults otherwise. Lots of signs up to read more about different plants. After walking around inside, there's usually people picnicking and hanging around outside on a nice day!
google avatar

Thien H.

Yelp
Cute place to bring visitors. Free for SF residents, show your ID. They've improved their merch a little bit. I would love to see some more cute, locally designed postcards, t-shirts, totes, jewelry, plants, and pottery added to their "gift shop." The last room with the fish tank seems like an afterthought. It would be great to add a little bit more seating and plants. Otherwise, the majority of the rooms are really cool. On some occasions, they have some plant experts/plant biologists who will answer visitor questions. Depending on how fast you walk through the place, it could take you about 30 mins or an hour plus if you like to stop and take a closer look at the plants. I love the building itself. It would be nice to have more information on a plaque that tells visitors about the history of the building and the people who built it.

Yelp
Been here several times and the Conservatory of Flowers never ceases to amaze me. It's definitely a must-see spot when you're going around the Golden Gate Park. Depending on how much of a fan you are of nature, you can spend a good two to three hours here just taking in the view. While it's not as big as some conservatories I've been to, it's still an enjoyable spot. They also host some events so do be sure to check out their social media to be on the lookout. Parking nearby can be difficult. I highly recommend to come here early if you want to snag a spot close by. However, not all is lost if you don't snatch a spot nearby. As there is a lot to see around the Golden Gate Park. I usually park by the entrance and then take a walk or bike over. So while parking can be difficult if you don't come early, the Conservatory of Flowers is located in a great spot where you can hit up other sights. The workers are also very polite and if you have any questions, they're always happy to answer. There's also a little gift shop section if you'd like to purchase any plants. Overall, a pleasant experience and will continue to come again.

Yelp
Stopped by here on my trip, and did not regret. Amazing plants species and overall knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
For some reason I never knew this was in SF until like super recently (like wth, I've lived in the bay my whole life but I guess I'm also living under a rock?¿?). After seeing so many beautiful pictures of it on other peoples photos, I finally got to check it out when I did my own tour of Golden Gate Park's Gardens. If you're not an SF resident, I highly recommend getting the Gardens of Golden Gate Park Pass for $28. You get unlimited visits to all 3 gardens (conservatory of flowers, Japanese tea garden, & botanical garden) for 3 days. So much more worth it than the $13-$16 entrance fee for each park. The conservatory feels much smaller on the inside than it looks on the inside but that's prob because it's so full of greenery and flowers. The pathways and rooms are small so when its busy, it does get pretty crowded. There was still a good amount of people there when we stopped by near closing on a Saturday and we were all slowly walking through the paths. People were looking around, naturally, but some paths were too small to even pass others. They have a handful of different rooms with different kinds of plants. I liked the lily pad room and the middle atrium. We got through the whole place pretty quickly, maybe 30 minutes. Though, if you are very interested in seeing each plant you can def spend an hour or more here. Not sure if there's any parking very close to the conservatory but it's easily accessible by walking from any other parking area in Golden Gate Park. The park also has a shuttle if you'd rather not walk from attraction to attraction. Looks like it's also a really popular place for picnics! Lots of fun photo ops outside the conservatory too!
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful and surprisingly smaller than it looks from the outside, but just about every nook and cranny is filled with amazing plants of all kinds. So much beautiful color and texture and interesting items like a cacao tree and giant lilypads and such. Be sure to look up, look down and all around. There's lots to see. We went in November 2023 but I'd love to go back in the spring or summer and see what might be blooming inside and out on the expansive front lawn area.
google avatar

Diana B.

Yelp
Great space to walk around, look at flowers, and take pictures. Located in Golden Gate Park. They have some pretty knowledgeable staff, who love to educate visitors about interesting plants Takes about 30-45 minutes to walk through
google avatar

Alex D.

Yelp
Beautiful conservatory! Highly recommend if you love plants! Even if you don't, it's still very beautiful. Every room is a different temperature for the specific plants, so make sure to keep the doors closed behind you! Wonderful place with educational signs around, telling you plant names and facts. It would also be a cute place to go on a date or even a calming stroll/sit to enjoy the plants and sounds here.
google avatar

Rachel Y.

Yelp
I thought there would be more flowers hence the name, but it was more plants! However, I was amazed how many plants there were because the outside view looks so small! The place inside gets stuffy pretty easily so be mindful of that! There is a small section where you can buy plants! Tip: Free for SF residents with validation, adult $13 for entrance
google avatar

Sylvia Y.

Yelp
Came here on July 4th and was able to see Scarlet, the gorgeous corpse flower, in full bloom! The Conservatory isn't huge and doesn't take a lot of time to see everything. Meandering through at a leisurely pace, it took me about 40 minutes or so to walk around. It's lush and well maintained all throughout. Lots of photo opportunities at every step. Admission is free for SF residents, and free to the general public every 1st Tuesday of the month (including when I came on July 4). Worth checking out!
google avatar

Jerry J.

Yelp
Great place to visit for plant lovers! I was concerned about bringing my family along but they had a good time too, so I would also recommend this place to the general public. Huge selection of plants to observe. Pitcher plant fans will especially love this place. Fairly priced entry free. I suggest going on a non weekend day to avoid the crowds as I could see this quaint place getting very crowded, very fast. They also sell basic general plants here but they tend to be over priced in my opinion, hence the lack of one star, in addition to limited parking and I wish this place was 100x bigger! The entire tour can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on your level of interest. In conclusion, highly recommended but probably only good for a one time visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great little nature adventure located on the heart of Golden Gate Park! Being the plant lover that I am, it was so fun to walk through the different greenhouses in the conservatory where you'll find thousands of plant varieties and some pretty rare ones, too. Despite the name, I did not see as many flowers as I had hoped, but the poppies were blooming, so I was a happy gal. This is such a peaceful place with lots of history of this building dating back to 1879. There were many great photo-ops and a chance to discover some unique botanicals. Admission is $13 for adults and free is you're and SF resident (with valid ID). We spent maybe 45 minutes exploring and it was a nice little stroll as we wandered through the park.
google avatar

Binh P.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I can't believe I wasted 20 years of my life never coming back to visit after my first field trip here in elementary school! This place is gorgeous! And free for SF residents, so don't sleep on it! There's 5 rooms with different biomes, but my favorite is the low tropics when you first enter. I spent so much time taking in all the greenery, smells, and sounds. You can also purchase some plants in one of the rooms. There's a few benches inside, so if you need a bit of shelter to relax or read, I imagine this would be a perfect hideout.
google avatar

Marjan M.

Yelp
This was my second visit at the conservatory and you can definitely get lost in there and spend a good amount of time if you enjoy looking at or learning about flowers! They're just beautiful! Visited July 2023 and it was $13/person for adults (non SF residents).
google avatar

Mimi L.

Yelp
NOPE! For people who have visited The Huntington library and botanical garden in LA? This green house like garden was not good to visit! Lots plants were just tropical house plants and my sister's plants on Catalina island are so similar to those! Outside was a good place to hang out and have picnics, inside was very underwhelming for the entree fee. Entire place takes less than 10 minutes to see and hardly any photo worthy spots. Only good spot was occupied by three young women who were taking instagram photos for a good 30 minutes! Why?! And I almost had a heat stroke from wearing wool clothes and Sherpa hat! Yeah it was that bad! LOL Skip this garden, not worth it at all!
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Quick take: oldest building at GGP I believe this is the oldest building inside Golden Gate Park. Please correct me if I am wrong. I cannot remember where I read this bit of information. Everything is well manicured and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. It kinda like a little escape from the rest of the world. If you are into flowers and plants this is a great stop if you are inside the park.
google avatar

Ling Ling N.

Yelp
This is a great place for dates and family. SF residents get free tickets and 1 adult ticket is anywhere from $11-$13 depends on the month you visit. It's not as big as I thought it would be, took us 20 minutes to walk around the whole building and taking pictures. There are a lot of flowers and special plants and you can listen to the audio tour if you want. We came on a Sunday and there are about 15 people in the building. It's a little crowded at some area, but it's not too bad. Overall it's a great experience, and I would come again in the future!

Yelp
This plant conservatory is a lush haven for nature enthusiasts, particularly those captivated by the allure of aroids. The diverse collection of these botanical wonders creates a mesmerizing tapestry of shapes and shades. Wander through this green sanctuary, and you'll encounter a plethora of Philodendrons, Anthuriums, and other charismatic aroids. The conservatory's design invites contemplation, allowing visitors to connect with the fascinating world of tropical foliage. Whether you're a seasoned plant lover or just starting your botanical journey, this conservatory stands as a verdant showcase of aroids, making it an enriching and visually stunning destination for anyone seeking a deeper connection with the plant kingdom.

Yelp
I have never been here before, and what an amazing experience I had. There was a wedding about to happen so I had to stick to the outdoor area and I didn't mind at all. They have so many dahlias to look at. I personally do no tknow much about flowers, but what I can say is that it was a trip to heaven for my eyes. The colors and smells were a mix of sweet and spicy all in one. I walked around for over an hour, looking at plants I had never even seen before. I can only imagine how beautiful the indoor area is. I will be back. Handicap accessible as well.
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
Very lovely. Has controlled separate greenhouse temperature rooms to showcase different collections. One room was highland plants, another room was lowland plants, and another was potted plants. For the entry price I had expected more but it was still beatiful and enjoyable. From carnivorous plants to orchids to velvet moss. A serene and calm place.
google avatar

S K.

Yelp
Lovely variety of plants! Was fortunate to see Scarlet the Corpse Flower bloom. Serene environment. Enjoyed browsing the plants you can buy to take home. Bought the "Pokla-Dot" for $8, nice addition to my plants at home. Free entry for "Museums for all" EBT & Medi-Cal cardholders, free for San Francisco residents with ID. Enjoy!

Yelp
The Conservatory of Flowers is a greenhouse and botanical garden that houses a collection of rare and exotic plants in Golden Gate Park. As a member of the New York Botanical Garden, I was able to enter for free. I've been to a ton of botanical gardens and conservatories before in the past and this one was absolutely outstanding. There was such a great selection of tropical plants that I have never seen before - and for plants that I have seen before, the variation of colors in the conservatory was remarkable. The entire conservatory is laid out in such a way that it's so easy to get lost in the plants. You just wander and wander and keep discovering beautiful and amazing new plants. My favorite was the room with all the aquatic plants - all the lily pads and lily blooms! I also loved the way that they simulated a tropical rainforest in the first room. It truly felt like I had walked into a rainforest in Latin America. Staff were super nice here and very happy to answer any questions that you had about the conservatory or other attractions inside Golden Gate Park. If you have even an hour, please consider checking out the Conservatory of Flowers!
google avatar

Ry T.

Yelp
We've not been back to visit here in many years but came twice this year. Residents with ID get free admission. It was a free day at the Conservatory which coincided with the bloom of the Corpse plant named Scarlett. It last bloomed around 2019, or every 4 years. Earlier this month, we took a walk thru to see all the plants, many were in bloom. The corpse plant had not yet bloomed until 2 days ago. It was pretty cool to be able to see this plant which is endangered because of harvesting for palm oil. Only about 1000 are left in the wild. The line to get in was really really long and took an hour just to make it to the front door as the line moved along. If you like plants, it's a nice place to see some rare species.
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Breathtaking. I have visited the Conservatory for 4 years running, every trip down to the bay must include a stop here. The organization and signage of the flowers and foliage is inspiring to all other gardens. From rainforest to potted plants, all your dreams of being amongst the flowers come to life. With helpful "in bloom" plaques you can further understand the natural beauty around you. Nestled in Golden Gate Park, this is a no brainer when picking an excursion.
google avatar

Pranamee S.

Yelp
This place is known and also popular but I have stayed in the Bay area for 10 years and this was my first visit. I had expected this to be a boring little place for tourists and I was surprised when I walked in because it was an exhibit of flowers and plants from different regions, the space has many microclimate sections to help with each class of flora here and I loved the little open area with some tables and fishes. Once done you walk outside and you have a beautiful view of the gardens where you can grab some picnic chairs and relax. It's the place to forget your stress and refresh your energy.
google avatar

Elisa B.

Yelp
I have lived in the city my whole life but never stopped to visit the conservatory. I took my grandma as a gift as she loves flowers and we were both in awe at how beautiful everything was! Lots of rooms and information on the different climates certain flowers need and the price was great. Paid $20 for one adult and one senior. Definitely visit if you need something to do! Lots of beautiful, colorful flowers!
google avatar

Roger E.

Yelp
The Conservatory is always a relaxing and much needed reprieve from the sometimes hustle and bustle of people in Golden Gate Park. My phone is always overloaded with photos of the beautiful plants and flowers inside the conservatory. No long review needed, just go check it out. Be mindful of their hours of operation. SF residents get in for free! Bring proof of residency.

Yelp
I was excited to visit here! There are tickets if you plan on visiting two places in GGP (worth it), but I didn't take advantage of that option and I just visited this green house. Once you enter you will feel the humidity and depending on the weather outside you may or may not feel comfortable inside. I really enjoyed my visit here because I got to explore the many plants I wish I had at home or wish my plants were as plentiful as these. You do not touch the plants, but you can touch the huge philodendron. My favorites were the monstera, bat flower and calatheas. There is also a much cooler area with several ponds. There is also a small section to buy plants. While I enjoyed my visit there was hardly or no flowers at all.
google avatar

Regina C.

Yelp
A must visit in our itinerary! It was so pretty and peaceful inside. A must for someone who loves planta and is very knowledgable with them but if not, you'll still enjoy the variety of plants :)
google avatar

Lorissa W.

Yelp
I was here when I was a young child. This time I'm an adult with my husband and elderly mother. We loved how much more they have added to this conservatory. Several rooms packed with beauty, wonderful organic fragrances, sounds of birds and monkeys, blooming flowers, tropical plants, lily ponds, trees and orchids. Our favorites were the cacao trees, Japanese lantern flowers, corpse flower and Hibiscus flowers. You can even buy plants and orchids here. Gorgeous little pots of plants for as little as 8 dollars! Since I already have a plant collection a bit like the one here, I stopped myself from getting a plant. If you love plants, then come here! We spent an hour walking around and it was just magical. Highly recommended. It's probably the most beautiful place in Golden Gate park. : )
google avatar

Christiane F.

Yelp
Really liked this place. It's a great stop as you're strolling through GGP on a weekend or as a casual date spot. The plants are so aesthetically pretty and they have people around to tell you about the plants if needed. It's also free for SF residents! Absolutely loved the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Very cool date spot for after brunch in Haight /Ashbury Free for SF residents Next time: Gotta ask what plants smells so good in the Potted plants section
google avatar

Yelp
5 stars IF: - you go on the first Tuesday of the month (free admission): not worth paying money - you have other things to do in the area (de Young Museum also offers free admission to everyone on first Tuesday of the month) - you don't mind being dripped on in an extremely humid environment. Wish there was a warning for this, but it makes sense because you're literally going into a massive greenhouse to see tropical plants. It's about a really quick 20-30 minute self-guided tour. You can pay $1.99 to get the audio tour. Labels on most plants. They had a massive leaf on display for you to touch and take pictures with! They sell some plants. It's amazing though, and it seems like their plants are well taken care of. Koi fish in some ponds too :)
google avatar

Shirley N.

Yelp
It's been eleven years since my last visit. What inspired me to come yesterday? Two reasons- it was Mother's Day and I wanted to take advantage of free admission for San Francisco residents. Thanks to Mayor London Breed who introduced legislation and Board of Supervisors who passed the ordinance. Hubby & I showed ID at the front entrance. That's all it took. We were advised not to touch the plants. We decided to turn right into the first gallery. We went counterclockwise. It wasn't long before I noticed someone touching a plant. What can you do? Folks just do what they want to. We quickly went through the four galleries enjoying each one. We plan to come more frequent now that it's free admission for us. Also free admission for veterans as part of the ordinance.

Yelp
This place was SO amazing, I don't even know where to start! If you want to walk into a green, lushish/tropical fantasy land of plant wonderment this is your place! I'll be honest, out of all of the touristy places to visit in SF this was my jam. From giant philodendrons to tropical flower blooms from far away lands the variety of rare and beautiful plants is astonishing. The entrence fee is minimal, I believe $10, and this place is absolutely beautiful where you feel like youre stepping into another country or magical land. For kiids or adults I highly recommend!!

Yelp
One of the nicest botanical gardens I've been to. It is pretty big and not super expensive. It smells amazing in there and the waterfalls provide a serene atmosphere There are some tables and chairs in one room if you'd need them There are over 4 rooms of different types of plants The aquatic plants were one of my favorites Great place to snap some pics!

Yelp
Oh my goodness, when I tell you. I recently visited yesterday 9/28/2023, with my boyfriend to enjoy the conservatory. We entered and when it came to paying, the white older lady asked where we were from without an explanation and I let her know we were from Richmond CA. She then offers for me to pay with EBT(my boyfriend and I are Hispanic). I was caught completely off guard. It was very rude, disrespectful, and demeaning for her to jump to the conclusion we were going to pay with EBT. I looked at the older lady in shock and let her know I would be paying with a debit card. Once entering the conservatory, we noticed there was a bride and out of courtesy we weren't walking were she was taking pictures and at some point we couldn't walk through out a place we paid $26 to be in only to be informed that they were closing in 10 minutes. Keep in mind we had just paid to walk inside. I called their phone number listed online to speak with a manger or higher-up to report how this lady racially profiled us; in what's supposed to be a welcoming environment for ALL. She clearly wasn't being considerate of our time as guests and failed to inform us they were closing VERY SOON! Or that there was a wedding event even planned for that specific date and time. There is no extension # to make a report with the phone number listed online. I've worked customer service for years retail, Starbucks, you name it. She either needs to retire or find somewhere else to work. Having her at the entrance ruins the experience and quality of this conservatory.

Yelp
Beautiful. Went here for my birthday and even in the winter everything was beautiful! It was pretty crowded though, so if you're planning on taking pictures I'd probably recommend earlier in the day. + Has a giant area outside for kids to run around full of grass, I saw gardeners working hard so I'm assuming theres flowers outside as well in the spring.

Yelp
The oldest wooden greenhouse in the US! So many beautiful plants and flowers. Was $14 to get in and you do a self guided tour thru their various 'rooms'. Look up, down and all around so you don't miss anything. Strollers are not allowed thank goodness!

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous, a nice escape from the city :) A few different rooms with stunning flowers wherever you look. My favorite part is that wherever you're standing and wherever you turn, you get a brand new and super pretty view. Also perfect for a date -- pretty quiet and romantic, but also educational, so there are endless talking points ;)

Yelp
Purchased the $28 3 park pass for the Botanical Garden, Zen Garden, and Flower Conservatory. This was the best of the three. Would recommend. All of the flowers and plants are beautiful and the smell inside is great! Go here!
