This would be a very good hotel if not for a few drawbacks. In my opinion, the biggest downside of this hotel is its size and location. It’s really a tiny little hotel, just a dozen or so rooms, located right by the street – and that’s a problem because you can hear the cars. I understand it’s a boutique hotel, but it really is very small, and for me that’s a minus. The pool is basically decorative, since it’s so small. The beach is another big drawback, as there are lots of motorboats around and that ruins the atmosphere. Breakfasts were fine but nothing special, though we never went hungry. The rooms were clean, overall OK.||What’s definitely a big plus is the staff – everyone was very nice and helpful. Another plus is the opportunity to use snorkeling and the glass-bottom boat free of charge. In the hotel grounds there are little yellow birds living in the trees, which are a real attraction. Nearby you’ll find a few restaurants, decent street food on the beach, and a shop.

We had a great time. The hotel is wonderful, and the highlight is definitely the kind staff and the delicious, gourmet dishes cooked with care and passion. We really appreciated the family-like welcome. The breakfast was varied and high-quality.|One day we had lunch a la carte at the restaurant on the beach, it was delicious.|The hotel also has kayaks and pedal boats available for guests. You can watch a breathtaking sunset directly from the beach in front of the hotel.

We stayed at Constance Sakoa as a couple for five nights after spending time elsewhere in Mauritius with friends. ||Hotel & Setting:|The hotel is charming, intimate, and ideally suited for a romantic getaway. Set right on the beach, it offers breathtaking views throughout the day and into the evening—especially at sunset. While the pool is quite small (and appears larger in photos), it wasn’t a concern for us given the direct beach access. This is, without a doubt, a beach-first hotel.||Service:|The reception staff were outstanding—friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. From arranging taxis to delivering a corkscrew to our room and answering our questions, nothing was too much trouble. Every interaction was met with a smile and genuine hospitality. Truly excellent service.||Activities:|We took advantage of the complimentary glass-bottom boat ride, which we highly recommend. We were lucky enough to spot a turtle, which was a highlight! The skipper was knowledgeable and welcoming—an all-around great experience.||Dining – Oak Restaurant:|Our stay included breakfast, which we enjoyed daily at Oak. The first morning, we experienced a wasp issue (as did other guests), which led us to eat on our balcony, but thankfully this was a one-off.||The breakfast selection was impressive for a boutique hotel, combining a buffet with made-to-order options. The eggs Benedict didn’t quite hit the mark, but that’s being very picky.||We had lunch at Oak on our first day. I really enjoyed my Caesar salad—filling and fresh—while my partner found the chicken shawarma wrap decent, though a bit small. We also shared a delicious prawn quesadilla.||On Saturday night, the restaurant hosts a BBQ with live music. The music was lovely and created a great ambiance. We had assumed the BBQ would be held on the beach, which was a bit disappointing when it turned out to be indoors—possibly a misunderstanding on our part.||The food itself was delicious: a range of fresh salads, mussels, and a BBQ selection of fish, chicken & beef skewers, lamb, and more. While we enjoyed it, the 2,500 rupees per person felt slightly overpriced.||Service in the restaurant was exceptional throughout our stay. A special shout-out to Joana, who went above and beyond with her attentive and warm service—we were sad not to see her on our last day to thank her properly.||Rooms:|Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered plenty of storage. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Having stayed at a 5-star resort earlier in our trip, we both agreed the rooms at Constance Sakoa were even better.||The balcony was a perfect spot to relax in the evening with a drink and a game of cards. Without question—5-star rooms.||Overall:|In our opinion, Constance Sakoa is a 5-star boutique gem. Every detail—from the service to the setting—was thoughtfully executed. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.||Thank you to the entire Constance team for making our stay so special. We hope to return!||❤️

We recently went to Constance Sakoa, Mauritius, located on Trou Aux Biches Beach in February 2025, for 8 nights. We had such a warm and hearty welcome at 8.30 am after an overnight flight from Cape Town and were pleasantly surprised at the layout, location and cleanliness of this small Boutique Hotel. How welcomed we felt and we were given a hearty breakfast with great coffee and warm, friendly service. We felt right at home from the first minute. Food is very good, varied and fresh all round. The rooms are freshly refurbished, extremely spacious, comfortable and ALL the staff are EXCEPTIONAL, very polite and willing to make your stay memorable. The soft sandy beach is lovely as is the sparkling warm sea. Plenty of loungers and beach bar service should you require. We LOVED every minute at Sakoa, so much so that we have booked to go back in December. ||Thank you Thierry and all the staff. It is hard to single out anyone as you are all exceptional. ||Well done team Sakoa!! We really look forward to coming back in December for our 25th Wedding anniversary. What a dream place and location celebrate.||Best wishes and thanks,|Peter and Catherine RECK, Cape Town, South Africa.

I chose this hotel because I wanted a clean, upscale location with direct access to the beach, a good restaurant and bar. Constance Sakoa did not disappoint. The rooms were exceedingly clean and beautiful, as was the property. I was a solo female traveler and I felt very comfortable and safe staying here. The staff were amazing and always willing to answer any questions I had, including how to make the Mauritius Curry on the dinner menu. The beach is clean white sand and you can swim in the ocean directly from the property (this is not the case for many resorts on the island sue to the volcanic rocks). The breakfast buffet was delicious and has a menu of hot items that are cooked to order (eggs, pancakes, bacon, etc.) I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful resort right on the beach with a pool, bar and restaurant. Live music now and then. Service can be a little slow, but drinks are really good! Has their own craft beers exclusively made by a local brewery. Try the Pina colada weiss!
