We stayed at Constance Sakoa as a couple for five nights after spending time elsewhere in Mauritius with friends. ||Hotel & Setting:|The hotel is charming, intimate, and ideally suited for a romantic getaway. Set right on the beach, it offers breathtaking views throughout the day and into the evening—especially at sunset. While the pool is quite small (and appears larger in photos), it wasn’t a concern for us given the direct beach access. This is, without a doubt, a beach-first hotel.||Service:|The reception staff were outstanding—friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. From arranging taxis to delivering a corkscrew to our room and answering our questions, nothing was too much trouble. Every interaction was met with a smile and genuine hospitality. Truly excellent service.||Activities:|We took advantage of the complimentary glass-bottom boat ride, which we highly recommend. We were lucky enough to spot a turtle, which was a highlight! The skipper was knowledgeable and welcoming—an all-around great experience.||Dining – Oak Restaurant:|Our stay included breakfast, which we enjoyed daily at Oak. The first morning, we experienced a wasp issue (as did other guests), which led us to eat on our balcony, but thankfully this was a one-off.||The breakfast selection was impressive for a boutique hotel, combining a buffet with made-to-order options. The eggs Benedict didn’t quite hit the mark, but that’s being very picky.||We had lunch at Oak on our first day. I really enjoyed my Caesar salad—filling and fresh—while my partner found the chicken shawarma wrap decent, though a bit small. We also shared a delicious prawn quesadilla.||On Saturday night, the restaurant hosts a BBQ with live music. The music was lovely and created a great ambiance. We had assumed the BBQ would be held on the beach, which was a bit disappointing when it turned out to be indoors—possibly a misunderstanding on our part.||The food itself was delicious: a range of fresh salads, mussels, and a BBQ selection of fish, chicken & beef skewers, lamb, and more. While we enjoyed it, the 2,500 rupees per person felt slightly overpriced.||Service in the restaurant was exceptional throughout our stay. A special shout-out to Joana, who went above and beyond with her attentive and warm service—we were sad not to see her on our last day to thank her properly.||Rooms:|Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered plenty of storage. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Having stayed at a 5-star resort earlier in our trip, we both agreed the rooms at Constance Sakoa were even better.||The balcony was a perfect spot to relax in the evening with a drink and a game of cards. Without question—5-star rooms.||Overall:|In our opinion, Constance Sakoa is a 5-star boutique gem. Every detail—from the service to the setting—was thoughtfully executed. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.||Thank you to the entire Constance team for making our stay so special. We hope to return!||❤️
