Food:
Tender beef with spätzle -
Beef was not on the tender side, more on the beafy/tough side. I liked the spätzle, perfect texture to me, compliments the sauce (could be abit too salty on its own or with the beef) liked the caramelised onions and fried onions on the spätzle. Spätzle outshine the meat in this dish.
Square pasta with potato cucumber salad -
Everything is more on the vinegary side. Pasta tasted fresh but the fillings inside were also on the vinegary side. Not my kind of taste but others might like that.
Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream -
Texture of the cake was nice, more on the sweet side. I think the ice cream is the failure of this dessert. Ice cream was too icy, not creamy. Taste like some vegan ice cream I got back in Malaysia even though there’s milk and cream used in it. Also tasted way too sweet couldn’t identify the vanilla taste much.
Service - service was okay. The guy who took our order were acting abit cool I guess. The other guy who helped with our payment was great, attentive enough to give us another spoon as we only got one pair of spoon and fork for our dessert when we were sharing it.
Atmosphere - still a nice place to have dates by the river. I would come back for its ambience hoping they could also make better food to enjoy.
