Constanzer Wirtshaus

We can enjoy nice German meals and beers here in either of inside glasshouses or outside. There are relatively large tables in the room that is supposed to be an original building. Stuff is so polite and friendly. We came to here with customers 2days in a row!

This is absolutely the best German food restaurant you can visit! With an amazing vibe and delicious food you will definitely have the best experience. The food service is also appreciable.

Service was very friendly and the location is lovely, which makes it a popular and often crowded spot. You don’t have to reserve, but it’s definitely recommended if you want to be sure to get a table. The food is solid—nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable.

The restaurant is nice, but the service terrible. We waited 20 minutes the check, and tried to pay twice with card and the posnet did not work. Therefore I payed with cash (I recommend everyone to bring cash, just in case). The food is okay, and the beer is authentic from this brewery. If the service were better, I would put 4 stars.

The restaurant offers a stunning view and a cozy atmosphere by the banks of the Reno River. Delicious food and draft beer brewed on-site. It’s the perfect spot for a lunch on a sunny day. Great experience in Constance! Definitely worth a visit when visting the city!

Nice break for lunch in our way to Germany, steak dish is delicious.

Ich hatte Oxen Fetzen, was bereits 4 Minuten nach der Bestellung serviert wurde. So schmeckte es auch: aufgewärmt und zäh. Zur pikanten Bratensauce wurde noch Kräuterbutter gereicht, was sehr verwundet. Auch das panierte Schnitzel am Nachbartisch war sehr schnell zubereitet und musste mit dem Messer zersägt werden. Service war nett. Fazit: nicht empfehlenswert.

Prepare yourself for for some good good food. The children were so satisfied. Fish filet was yumilicious! And their cheesecake is superb. We'll Be again Germany!

This place is beautiful! It has plenty of outdoor seating right by the river which is really lovely in the summertime. The building is also very special because there is a large section inside but with all windows, so I'm sure it's really nice to eat there when the weather is a bit colder. The options for food are also really great. I was happy with the wide variety of veggie options. It was nice that there was one veggie option that wasn't covered in cheese. ;) The beer, food, service, and ambiance was all great. I'd love to come here again.

Well, you have to give this place a try for sure. Why? It's in a historic and majestic building, it's on the water, so during sunny days of summer it has to be the place to have drinks and food. For me the limited draft beer selection was a little disappointing. Although they had one of each between pilsner, wheat beer, and dark. But I wish there was a larger selection. The food was just ok. I had the fish dish with vegetables. The service and prices where very good. For me during this visit the best part was my side mixed salad.

It has a nice view on the lake and is pretty fancy on the inside. However the food is neither good or bad. In my opinion, they could have done better. The vegetarian dishes were pretty heavy on carrots and kohlrabi. And also I am not sure, if they really thought through which dish should go with which sauce. If you are really demanding on your food, this restaurant should not be your place. But you can have a nice dinner with your friends. Paid 22 euro for (1 beer, 1 starter and 1 veggie maindish). Service is pretty good and friendly.

It's a nice place to pop in for tea or coffee at the fireside on a cold winter afternoon, but I don't like traditional Bavarian food and would never come here for dinner.

A consistently good selection of typical german food and high quality beer choices, paired with a beautiful setting in a small old waterfront château make this Wirtshaus a great place to visit all year round. The only drawback is that there is no parking nearby and it's a bit far to walk there from the old town, about 15min. But well worth it once you get there, ideally by bike ...

We were so happy to find Constanzer Wirtshause! Not only is it in a beautiful location overlooking the Rhine, the service was wonderful. They have an English menu to help with your food selection. Great beer and wine. We had tried a few places in the Alt stadt of Konstanz the day before and found most places to be very touristy and not overly friendly. Quite the opposite here.
