Visiting from Cleveland, checked out a few other shops, but this was by FAR the best! The service is incredible, which was how I came to select of couple different coffees from Little Waves. Matched my taste preferences perfectly. The baked good pair well with the food too, which I feel was intentional. It didn't feel like random offerings, everything seems thought out. The atmosphere isn't anything flashy, but again, I think that may be intentional. What they lack in flash, they more than make up for with their coffee and food. For coffee snobs, this is an absolute must. Thank you for the great coffee and conversation!

I went close to the closing time, and I was the onlycustomer at the cafe which was pretty nice. The space is rather simple, but very spacious and airy with sunlight, coming in, which makes this place very bright. I got the salted caramel latte, which was pretty interesting and not too sweet. I can’t tell you if I am a fan yet of that flavour, but it wasn’t bad at all.

Google
The cutest coffee shop with great and unique coffee options, kind baristas, and the cutest little garden!

Gina Chen

Google
Loved the atmosphere so much and all the gorgeous sunlight through the windows! Lots of people seem to know the baristas here so there was a lot of friendly chatting about coffee in the background. Not many tables but if you can snag one it's really nice to get some work done! Only complaint is that my matcha wasn't very well mixed so it was a bit gritty, but I'll definitely stop by to try a latte soon :)

Google
I'm quite positive there's magic in the air and in the coffee. My friends know I think Constellation is the best coffee shop in Pittsburgh so I figured I might as well offer my opinion to the larger public, too. The baristas are dialed tf in, whether you want an espresso, pour over, or drip (their menu includes more, I'm just naming a few). More of a traditionalist? You'll be impressed with a carefully crafted cup of coffee. Or maybe you're more adventurous? They'll have something brewing that will delightfully surprise your taste buds. If you're interested in the notes in your coffee or the processing techniques, you'll especially enjoy this place. The baristas are highly knowledgeable and willing to share their their knowledge. The environment here is calming, so I wouldn't recommend coming in with a boisterous crew. Just bring peaceful energy and add it to the collective. Oh! And their garden beside the shop is lovely. A perfect spot to slow down, sip your espresso in the sun, and listen to the birds sing.

Google
Best coffee experience in Pittsburgh and beyond. This café deserves 5 stars and nothing less! It has absolutely amazing and very unique roasts, the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly and the place has a wonderful and calming vibe 🥰☕️

Google
Absolutely amazing. I got the blackberry latte iced. Service was fantastic. I'll totally be back!

Google
What a great coffee spot! We stopped in on the way out of town after a brief visit to Pittsburgh, and we were thrilled to have picked this place for our caffeine fix! The espresso was easily the most flavorful and enjoyable espresso I have ever tasted. The staff was friendly, they conversed at good length with all of their regulars which is always a good sign, and they were very knowledgeable about their beans and drinks. They told us about this Columbian vandola, and that they use these exclusively with their Columbian beans. We will certainly have to try that pour next time, and if we’re ever in town this is where we will be for sure! Thanks again p.s. they will murder your thirst (in the best ways)

Yelp
Small local coffee shop, hipster vibes. Some tables inside. I got an iced latte with oat milk. Really good quality coffee, smooth and well balanced. Comes in quite a small cup though. And the price is pretty steep. A dollar extra to get non-dairy milk, oat is their only option. Nice service and great coffee, just a little pricey.

Yelp
Great coffee selection! Love all the Espresso, iced coffee and hot drip I've tried. The owner is patient with all my questions about the flavors and coffee brew techniques.
google avatar

Yelp
Really great coffee! The moment you walked in you knew it was going to be good. The barista really took care in making our drinks and the espresso in the latte was really well curated. Would for sure recommend, vibes were quiet and relaxed.

Yelp
I am blown away. Cliff is awesome. This was my favorite part of being in pittsburgh by far. I dare say this may be the best cafe I have been to in the whole world. He knows what he's doing and he loves sharing his passion.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent coffee in a cozy atmosphere. This place has been pumping out the best coffees for years, always consistent and the customer service is warm and inviting. The baristas really know what they're doing. I appreciate the basic menu. It can get very crowded at peak hours so studying can be hit or miss but it's always worth storing in to grab a coffee room or not.

Yelp
I stopped by here yesterday with my wife for our morning coffees. We are trying new local coffee shops every Sunday and on this day Constellation Coffee was our pick. It's located on Penn Ave in the area that always confuses me whether it is the back side of Bloomfield or upper part of Lawrence. In any case the inside was somewhat small and still set up for Covid. They had their menu on the wall and then some individually wrapped bake goods and single origin coffees from 4 roasters which I had never heard of before. In addition to that they had some pour over stuff for sale, so v60s and chemex filters. That combined with the single origin coffee definitely speaks to a place that is serious about their coffee. For our coffees on this morning I decided to go with a hot maple spices latte while my wife went with an iced mocha and I added on a almond rhubarb scone. Both of our drinks ended up being quite good and we both loved that even though they were drinks with milk, they were much more coffee forward than we have had recently. I will also say the same about the maple spices in my latte. They were subtle but added a nice little bit of sweetness if you were thinking about it. The scone from here was also good and flavorful. I don't know that I could have told you that it was rhubarb flavored but I did enjoy the scone itself and loved the sanding sugar on top which provided bits of sweetness. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. Both my wife and I really enjoyed our coffees and I liked that they were selling micro roasters coffees.

Peyton M.

Yelp
I came here for a quick morning coffee after treading the reviews for this cafe. I immediately knew this experience would not be like the reviews. The staff was extremely unkind and harsh. I asked for 2 cold brews and the waiter began to fill our cups up with water. 0/10 experience and biggest waist of $11.
google avatar

Shiquala D.

Yelp
Stopped by for a coffee and decided to try the maple spice latte instead. Great customer service and fair pricing model. I'm satisfied with my latte. Will recommend and return.

Yelp
If you want a great cappuccino, pour over, tea or cold brew etc- this is your spot! I've tried tons and tons of coffee shops in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas, Constellation is the best imo. Give it a try. Nice spot to chill, have a delicious coffee and enjoy the patio, five stars.

J L.

Yelp
Amazing coffee spot. If your a purist you need to check this spot out. Great variety and tremendous selections.

Clara P.

Yelp
Got a cappuccino and it was so good! Great atmosphere too. Would definitely recommend

Mark C.

Yelp
Honestly surprised by the high reviews. Bland coffee almost as good as gas station coffee. Only sugar no other sweetener options, milk or oat milk only, two options for flavoring and neither is sugar free. Considering not cheap coffee more should be offered. I tossed it and found another coffee barista. Service was ok, she was cordial.

Yelp
Constellation is the best at what they do - offering high quality artisan made beverages without compromise. You can tell each drink is made precisely, to the exact specifications that will draw out the optimal flavor. They put a lot of care into their craft. The coffee is great, but I've really been enjoying iced tea this summer. It may take a little longer for them to make, but it's totally worth it. The flat whites are also fantastic. Take your drink a few lots over and enjoy it in their outdoor garden. It's so peaceful! The array of well curated small batch beans they carry are all winners. I love that Constellation has a strong and unwavering vision of what they are offering the community, and we are lucky to have them!

Yelp
Very nice and clean space, aimee makes the best coffees, definitely recommend dropping by if you are in the area!

Yelp
Beautiful, clean interior! Immaculate drinks :) tasty pastries ! The perfect coffee shop :)) for stopping by or sitting in.

Yelp
My word. I will say that the iced tea and the service I received last check in was superb. I got an amazing explanation of the tea. I was a little concerned with picking a white tea since it's not my favorite, but the barista talked me into it by explaining the subtle differences in taste. And assured me I would be pleased. And I was. I got the purple iced tea and it was subtle and just refreshing. I put in just a drip if sugar but really I could have left that one drip out. If you are looking for a quick grab and go iced tea this might not be the place for you. But still try it. They brew the tea individually so its honestly a lot better. You dont get a batch that sits all day and gets bitter. Each cup I'd it's own flavor combo. Take the time to allow for the steeping of the tea. It will relax you and your day. And if you do enjoy the flavors they sell the tea in shop! Go, get a cup!

Yelp
I had a meeting over at Children's and figured I had time to kill and wanted to sit at a place that was something different from the hospital Starbucks so I decided to come here. My chocolate chip scone was devoured in minutes and my chai tea latte was too pretty to drink but I had it anyways and it was pretty good. Vibe of the shop was great, very simple, great natural light and somehow I felt super productive for the two hours I sat there to work. I will make sure any time I have a meeting over this way that I stop in for a drink.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try this coffee shop for a while! I was surprised that they had more seating than I expected. There is an additional room in the back of seating. I ended up going with a latte and enjoyed it. Overall, a nice coffee shop with an ample amount of seating. Menu is pretty limited but covers all the basics.
google avatar

Kristen E.

Yelp
What a cute little shop for refreshment, getting a little work done, or a conversation. There's only street parking, but it is just steps from Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. I thoroughly enjoyed my blondie brownie and hot chocolate for just $5. The staff are nice. I'll be back.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the service and quality of drink ordered. I order Iced matcha lattes regularly and would think that a coffee establishment such as Constellation Coffee would deliver, yet it was given as lukewarm milk with the matcha powder chalky and not mixed well. The matcha powder tasted very low quality. Rude service when drink was taken back and was not offered compensation for the $5 drink, but a unnecessary comment "maybe you are used to sweet drinks, do you want sweetener added." As a local, I go to Constellation for single origin roasts available for purchase but was disappointed to find only a selection of blends. When I asked staff for a recommendation she seemed very uninterested in providing the same and little idea of what each roast is. This place is not what it used to be and will not be returning as my go-to coffee shop anymore. Will not recommend.

Yelp
After a very filling breakfast I decided to "work it off" by hiking up here for some coffee and treats. Their pastries comes from 350 bakery in the Southside. I learned that 350 bakery is a catering establishment. Others come from one of my favorites Mediterra bakery. I got to sample the coffee of the day which had a bit of a fruity taste so I went with it and ordered a cranberry orange scone from 350 bakery. Both were very good. I already know the quality of Mediterra and believe me they also make great pastries and breads you can find most anywhere or in their home base in Robinson Twp. The salesman told me he could make a pour over if I didn't like it or settle for a regular blend. I thought that was very thoughtful of him and was glad with the my guatemala coffee with the fruity notes. They too sell it but at a hefty pricetag. Yes, there is a gender neutral restroom here. This place offers free WiFi since many students come here with their laptops. This is another very good coffeeshop I want to revisit on my future trips to this area. I am anxious to try out some of the other baked goods from 350 bakery since they are a catering establishment.

Yelp
It's a small, cozy place, has a good location. My cortado was delicious,I liked the taste of coffee beans also. The service was great, parking on the street. Highly recommend this coffee shop.

Yelp
I ordered a cappuccino with an extra espresso shot. When I asked for sugar the man made a comment, saying there's a reason he doesn't have it out. So I figured I'd try it this time without sugar. It was delicious!! I would never use sugar again if I were always guaranteed such a delicious cappuccino.

Yelp
Amazing Expresso & coffee, great people. I went to constellation with my wife off a recommendation that their Expresso was top notch & it was. Moreover we had a great conversation with the barristas, I pop in every once and a while to discuss my coffee making experiences and get tips from them. Truly worth a visit!
google avatar

Kyleigh H.

Yelp
This is your average coffee shop. It does have a bigger back room which is nice because there is limited seating up in front of the store. I appreciate that they don't charge extra for soy milk, however their coffee prices are a bit overpriced.
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
The coffee is good! only a few options available so you won't spend too much time wondering which delicious item to go for. I don't quite recall what I ordered here.... not sure what that says about myself, ha! I DO, however, recall that I paid nearly $6 bucks for said coffee. The shop itself was cool. Minimal on purpose and it works for them. Barista was friendly. Location is great. I'll go back, maybe.
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
A really nice spot! They had a pretty bare-bones menu: coffee, tea, espresso drinks, plus a few specialty drinks and pastries. The environment was peaceful and kind of sparsely decorated, but they had nice touches like zines that you could read while you enjoy their coffee. There was plenty of seating and outlets, and that plus the mellow atmosphere made this a great study spot. The staff were also extremely friendly!
google avatar

River S.

Yelp
I'm visiting from California (the land of great coffee) and recently stoped into Constellation to be greeted by two smiling faces (apparently a rare commodity in Pittsburgh). They were very informative on the menu and all of the many other questions we had. I finally settled on a pour over and my friend got a cappuccino. The espresso way balanced and the milk texture was perfect!! My pour over was JUICE!!! It was complex and sweet with a light body and super smooth finish. The first great pour over I've ever had brewed in a chemex. They also had this crazy cool ceramic contraption on display that's made by one of their coffee farmers. It's used exclusively to brew the coffee that this guy grows, sadly they were out of stock when I was there. No doubt I'll be back to this spot, hopefully to try that crazy cool looking ceramic drink.

Yelp
I like it here for a number of reasons: -local -small -cute -quaint -clean -modern -nice staff -great coffee -great tea -neighborhood spot
google avatar

Caroline D.

Yelp
Really really good coffee, wow. I had a traditional espresso macchiato and the espresso was so so so smooth. I loved it, not tangy like a lot of places these days. It's expensive here, but there's a reason. Nice spaces to work, and everyone seems really friendly. It can get a bit busy on the weekends, just a heads up if you're trying to work here.
google avatar

Yelp
This place reminds me of all the reasons I hate Portland, OR. Mega rude, definitely way too cool for me, and a really uncomfortable arrogant vibe that makes you feel like you're inconveniencing them by being a customer. Setup. I really wanted some relish doughnuts because I had just had my second biopsy in a month. I happened to be by constellation and HUZZAH it was relish's delivery day. I stop in. One barista sort of smiles at me and then does a pretty sweet movement of pretending to be busy but is really just shifting stuff around. Second barista stares at me. I'm assuming she had no muscles in her face because that broad doesn't have the ability to smile. I ask if there were any relish doughnuts left and second barista points at a stand. Oh ok great. I ask if those were the flavors they have left. She again points at the stand, rolls her eyes so intensely I'm surprised she didn't fall over, and tells me the flavors they have...in a tone so damn annoyed you would have thought I asked her to read the phone book. This lovely interaction follows up with, "so which one do you want.." and then, "is that it? No coffee?" Feeling bullied into a god damned coffee, I ordered a cold brew. Oh cool...burnt dirt water that tastes like it's roughly six months old. Badass. I tipped way more than I should, threw away the coffee, and inhaled the doughnuts in my car. This coffee shop is garbage and I will never understand why some service industry people choose to be jerks to customers that haven't given them a reason yet.

Sophie L.

Yelp
Fantastic cappuccino and tasty almond croissant this morning. The staff suggested sitting in the outdoor seating area so I did. It was an overall really nice experience. Haven't had such a good cappuccino in a while + they sell Ceremony coffee.

Punk R.

Yelp
I would def give no or negative stars if possible. Coffee is average, but holy hell, hands down Rudest service I have ever encountered. LOL i ordered a cup of coffee with milk on the side and proceeded to be berated by the so-called "barista", some stringy-black-haired hipster kid who had obviously run out of cocaine that morning, and recommended that i "go somewhere else" cause there were "plenty of other coffee shops around". Happy to take that advice kid. Have a nice life Constellation Coffee. I've watched Amy since she was cutting her teeth as a barista, but she obviously needs to make better hiring decisions and get some kids that aren't strung out assholes, and that can maybe even manage milk on the side. Hey he was right about one thing... there are plenty of other coffee shops around.
google avatar

Krystal M.

Yelp
Visited Constellation Coffee today for the first time and figured since I was in the area might as well stop in for some espresso. After buying 2 espresso drinks & hot cocoa I sat down and began to watch a YouTube video on my cell phone. That's when a lady with long black haIr had the nerve to ask me when the video I was watching would be over? I asked why and she said that because my vide eo Is throwing off the vibes of the coffee place. You serious? Wtf does that even mean?. After I was finished I figured I'd let them know exactly how I felt becauuse I just came here for a good drink and wanted to relax but felt disrespected only to be told off by a guy who I'm guessing was manager? He told me To piss off and write a 1 Star review because he didn't care and told the lady to stop explaining to me why they said what they did. Deffinately would not return and the staff can shove it. If I could vote 0 stars I would

Angelina S.

Yelp
This is the worst experience I have ever had. I ordered two shots of espresso over ice then asked for two pumps of vanilla syrup. The the man working rudely said, "You don't get to make your own drinks here. If you want to get that you can go somewhere else!" If they don't do that there he could have nicely said so
google avatar

Yelp
This place is bomb! My fiance and I came by on a weekday to get some work done while we were visiting Pittsburgh for a day. He got a latte and I got a dirty chai and we both split a banana nut muffin and cherry chocolate chip scone. The drinks were made perfectly and the pastries were delicious. They also have an awesome back area with tables, which made working super easy and convenient. Service was super as well. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Brittany C.

Yelp
Quaint coffee shop close to Children's hospital. The interior is generic, but provides a modern and polished ambiance. There is a decent amount of seating with tables to fulfill guests' needs. FANTASTIC baristas! Hands down best service I have had in a coffee shop in a long time. Perfect stop for a strong iced coffee on a morning stroll down Penn. Constellation is a solid choice!

Kevin B.

Yelp
Constellation makes the best coffee in Pittsburgh, full stop. Coffee as complex as fine wine and people who genuinely care about what they do.
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
Constellation was great! Coffee is my thing. Coffee shops are my thing. If both are good, I'm quite happy. Constellation is good. Real good. I like the vibe inside! The baristas were very nice and chipper. With the cloud coverage we get in Pittsburgh 10 months out of the year - we need genuine chipperentalities in our baristas. Seating is sometimes hard to come by at this shop, but there are quite a few of them! I got a regular cup of coffee. I have to say, it wasn't pour-over (I just ordered a reg coffee for kicks and giggles), but their coffee is great! It really is. I'll update when I try a mocha. Wifi works well. A major con for me is the hours of operation. 7am-6pm Monday-Friday and 7am-5pm on Saturday-Sunday. I get the area. I get people want to drink at night. But as a coffee shop lover...a shop closing before 9pm (at earliest) is just terrible to me. Espresso a mano sees the demand up through the evening hours, working with a similar demographic. I wish Constellation followed the example! The shop is clean! Location is great! Music choice was good. I'll be back and probably with friends.
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
Constellation Coffee is a modern and minimalistic little coffee shop, and it works really well for them. I've been wanting to come here for quite some time and I'm glad I finally got around to it! The atmosphere is more clean and simplistic than it is warm. That being said, it still has a really nice aesthetic and I think I would enjoy hanging out here for awhile. There are a few tables near the front of the store by the large windows, a few tables near the bar area, and then some larger tables and bench areas in a back room. I wish we had been able to get one of the tables at the front of the shop, but it seems like these are the ones that probably go the quickest since there's so much nice natural light there. There are not many paintings on the walls, and everything feels really clean cut and contemporary. I absolutely love their branding - the font they use for their logo is beautiful, and I like the way they put stars on the hand stamped cups. I had a hot chocolate here this time - I don't really know why, I was just in the mood. The cocoa itself was not really anything special if I'm being honest; it didn't seem chocolatey or flavorful enough for me, which was kind of a letdown. However, the presentation was beautiful and it put a huge smile on my face when I saw the colorful marshmallows on top of the drink. They reminded me of my childhood and I thought it was a cute touch. I definitely need to come back again to try more of the drinks. While the hot chocolate wasn't my favorite, I did really enjoy the atmosphere and the clean vibes. Hopefully I'll be back soon!
google avatar

Zachary D.

Yelp
Had a great pour over and cold brew here today. Quiet, minimalist (but not obnoxiously so) environment, pleasantly warmed by natural light. Very relaxed vibe with a separate back room that seems more suited for conversation/meetings. Seems like a great shop for reading or studying as well. Overall a great spot with top notch coffee. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Katie T.

Yelp
Constellation is a cool spot and located in a great part of town. The latte I had was quite good and I could tell it was made with love :). Two pretty huge drawbacks here for me are the chairs and the temperature...it is freezing in the back room and I had to wear my coat while I worked from my laptop. Call the waaambulance, right? But really though...y'all need to think about a space heater and some comfy chairs! Multiple people were here working and I know I would stay longer if these things changed. A friend who came here a couple weeks ago actually warned me about how cold the back room was. Maybe in the spring/summer it will be better.
google avatar

Eugina N.

Yelp
I love the aesthetics of Constellation - minimalist. And their coffee is great too! I usually order the iced vanilla latte. The baristas are quite hipster and friendly to all their customers. They keep the shop really clean every time I come. One thing that hesitates me from coming here often is the seating. It's a hit or miss. They have two large long tables and a couple other small tables. Also, not many outlets for those who want to work with laptops or tablets. There's free wifi!
google avatar

Jesse A.

Yelp
Chemex for pour-over! Lots of bean selections! (Not a roaster, tho.) Cliff is awesome, really knows his coffee. Nice place, two large rooms, combination of long tables and small tables. Might need to ask for a stronger brew on the pour over (less water), depending on your taste. Big front windows. Traffic on Penn precludes calm seating outside.
google avatar

Nikolaus S.

Yelp
I don't visit Constellation as often as I'd like because it's at least 3 coffee shops away from me [ the travesty of living on Penn Ave dead center between Voluto, Artisan, 4121, and here ]. That being said, I always enjoy my trips, love the manual brews and espresso equally, and find the atmosphere to be appealing for all manner of visits [social, work, just stopping in]. They source an interesting array of Ceremony Coffees and are, as far as I know, the only Pittsburgh source for said roaster.
google avatar

Olivia A.

Yelp
Great place to grab a coffee and get some work done. They have plenty of room inside. I tried their chai tea latte and loved that it was not sweet at all ( some chai concentrates are the way too sweet). Parking is street parking but you can usually find a spot!
google avatar

Alia D.

Yelp
My husband & I have been frequenting Constellation for the 3 years we've lived in Bloomfield. He loves a good pour over coffee & I love a cappuccino. It tastes just like Italy. The owners are really cool. They're willing to have a conversation about coffee if you're curious. You can tell they're passionate about it. They have snacks for sale too. You can't go wrong with an oatmeal cream pie. There's a board next to the line that you can give or take a drink. You can leave a note for a stranger or your neighbor. It's heartwarming to see the community interacting over a nice cup of coffee. Next time you're looking for a coffee shop to work for the day or meet up with an old friend, Constellation is your spot!

Yelp
Had a nice maple latte last weekend. Cute spot, with nice natural light and quality espresso options. Plus, they support Planned Parenthood! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This was the best coffee I had in Pittsburgh - and we explored a lot of different cafes!
