"Constitution Bridge, as it’s called in English, stretches across the Grand Canal and is almost twice as long as the famous Rialto Bridge. The Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava was tasked with the design—it resembles a whale’s backbone and is made with steel, bronze, glass, and concrete."

We arrived at the bus terminal, and the first thing we saw of Venice’s old town was from this bridge – and it was just: wow. The view from here gives you a fantastic first impression of the city. You get a great overview of the canals, the buildings, and the atmosphere that makes Venice so unique. It really sets the tone for what’s to come. In our opinion, it’s one of the top bridges in the city – and surprisingly, it’s not overcrowded, so it’s also a great spot to take your first photos without being pushed around by the crowd. Highly recommended as your first stop when entering Venice!

Venice is an absolutely gorgeous city. The architecture, colours, vibrancy, the restaurants and bars. It is a tourist mecca and I can see why the city fathers have a tourist tax, but what a feast for the eyes. St. Marks Square and Basilica is aweinspiring. Only took a short tour around, but WHAT A PLACE. Photos don't do it justice.

"Nice modern contrast to the rest of Venice. The design is sleek and the views from the top are great, especially at sunset. That said, the glass steps can be slippery, so watch your step—especially with luggage. It's not everyone's favorite because it feels out of place in such a historic city, but I actually liked the bold mix of old and new

Constitutional Bridge (aka Calatrava) is a cool modern vibe in the middle of old Venice. Sleek white design that pops, and the Grand Canal views are solid. Yeah, the steps are a bit of a climb, but hey, free leg workout with a nice view at the top! Worth a quick stop for some different city pics. Four stars – stylish and great views!

One of the four main bridges crossing the Grand Canal, the bridge—also known as the Ponte di Calatrava—is a striking example of contemporary architecture in Venice. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the bridge was completed in 2008 and spans approximately 94 meters. It is made of steel, glass, and Istrian stone, and stands out for its modern curves and transparent materials, in sharp contrast to Venice’s historic surroundings. While visually impressive, the glass flooring has drawn criticism for becoming dangerously slippery in rain or snow, leading to frequent accidents. In response, recent renovations have begun to replace sections of the glass with stone for improved safety.

Really, really nice bridge. Spanish from the car district over the grand canal to the main part of Venice. Great view, large bridge so it's not too crowded.

Fast-paced, lots of people pushing and shoving on the public transport. Gondolas worth the wait and a great memory .
