Great staff! Everyone was very nice and organized. Expect a wait of half an hour if you’re there on a weekday morning. And if you haven’t print your receipt, make sure to ask for some paper and copy down the transaction number. They can’t process your passport application otherwise. May also be a good idea to bring a book :)

I visited the Consulate to renew my passport. The application download, the payment, and the appointment booking have to be completed on-line. I visited a studio for the photo for the studio’s address stamp. I arrived early for the appointment but was told to come back 15 minutes prior to my appointment time. No electronic devices (mobile, watch, laptops) are allowed and a locker is provided for safekeeping. I waited for around half an hour after my appointment time. The process is quick and took around 7 minutes. I signed back page 2 of the application. The new passport would be couriered back to me my HK Post. It was a pleasant experience and the whole event would be perfect if there were no delays in my appointment.

Fast and friendly service but only if you have a valid appointment. And all your electronics goes into a locker

You won't get any help or response from the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong. Even as a citizen, I left voice messages and emails stating my passport problem and my concerns a week ago, but there has been “ZERO” call back and email reply until now. What a shame to be a Canadian in Hong Kong.

Applied for a new passport for my child through mail. The process online and through post was very straightforward. I received confirmation of receipt of my package on their end, then received all my submitted original documents and the new passport in 3 weeks time (quick turnaround for Canada!). Everything was well packaged and in pristine, original condition. It was a very smooth and painless process! 👍🏻

I’m surprised by the number of negative reviews, as my experience was positive. I needed an emergency temporary passport, and the service I received was prompt and professional. As long as you arrive prepared with all the necessary forms, payment receipts, and required documents, the process is handled efficiently and courteously— reflecting the Canadian standard of service. I’m very grateful for the assistance provided especially during a time-sensitive situation!

Website doesn't mention it but if you have your passport renewal documents all ready, you can simply drop it off on the 9th floor. Make sure you've paid online and printed out the receipt! You don't need to make an appointment to drop off your renewal. Security guard was friendly and helpful.

Appointments are required so it sucks for those who have tight schedules. No electronic devices allowed inside yet they put up QR codes for you to scan with naked eyes
