Contigo Ranch

"__What were your first impressions when you arrived? What did you notice? __ I immediately breathe in a natural sigh of relief. The star of the show is the Hill Country landscape. The lodging is new but doesn't distract from the scenery. Wait—did I just spot a deer? Yes, yes I did. What's the backstory? The ranch name Contigo "with you" speaks to the owner Frede Edgerton's, deep conviction that people will come together for good on land that is managed with tender love and care. This is still a working ranch but that's a little hard to tell when you're inside appreciating the interior design choices from Frede's daughter-in-law, Ann Edgerton. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book?I was immediately drawn to cottage #15. I really enjoyed all of the outdoor seating options which are perfect for visiting with friends. The whole place has a ranch modern feel to it that looks like it belongs in the feed of your favorite traveler's Instagram feed. And the service?Contigo Ranch is also a wedding venue and event space, so that means they've dealt with large groups making lots of demands. They can handle whatever you throw at them. What's the feeling being here?Happiness radiates from the ranch. Whether it's a blushing bride walking happily to have her picture taken or a weekender out to do some wine tasting, there is real joy from visitors. I can't prove it, but I think that feeling is even rubbing off on the Watusi cattle. Is there anything you'd change?More options for on site food . Currently there is a continental breakfast delivered to your porch each morning, but that's it. Any other hotel features worth noting? It's location gives you both privacy and convenience. You can be in downtown Fredericksburg in 20 minutes and easy get to the more than 20 wineries sprinkled around the area. If you are craving a wine weekend and want to avoid the crowds, this is an excellent option for peace and quiet nestled in a divine Texas landscape. Bottom line: Why are we choosing Contigo Ranch? It is simple yet stunning. This ranch is worth the drive."

4 Best Day Trips from Houston

"Happiness radiates from this working ranch that doubles as a wedding venue. The accommodations are a series of cabins and cottages done up in a ranch modern style that makes them look like they belong on the Instagram feed of your favorite traveler (they may have, in fact, shown up there). This is a place to come to enjoy the vast Hill Country landscape, away from any big city troubles. But it's still close enough that you can hit downtown Fredericksburg in under 20 minutes." - Diana Oates

Contigo Ranch was just the getaway we needed! So peaceful and secluded yet not too far from downtown Fredericksburg. The unit we stayed in was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast delivered to the room in the morning was delicious. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The entrance to Contigo Ranch is so inviting. We loved our stay!!

Our stay at Contigo was a perfect little getaway. The location and view is absolutely stunning - it is in the middle of nowhere, that is true, but if that is what you seek, it's the best place. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the bed was super comfortable. We loved the breakfast baskets, only thing is that you need to know that breakfast is only brought to the cabin between 8-8:30 am and unfortunately there are no changes to an earlier time possible. Also the wifi connection was unstable but ok. All in all, a very nice accommodation - we will definitely come back next time we are in the area.

I recently spent two nights at Contigo Ranch, and I have to say, it was absolutely breathtaking. I truly believe this could be the next big destination wedding location after viewing The Bluff. The Bluff is on a hill top, has a flat top, fluffy grass, and 'omg pinch me' views. If you're guests are coming from out of town, this feels like the perfect place to see all of Texas Hill Country. What stood out most to me were the little moments. Bees buzzing through wildflowers, butterflies floating past, birds singing their hearts out. The sunset you could cry over! Even the longhorns felt magical in the way they moved through the fields, calm and majestic like we're at their home and curious to their new visitors. Whether you're planning a wedding or just need a getaway, Contigo Ranch is a special kind of beautiful that is perfect for hosting.

Spent 2 nights with my fiancee here. We loved the seclusion of not having neighbors right next to us or above us. We liked the breakfast baskets a lot it was a cute idea and had tasty stuff! We enjoyed our couples getaway very much and will be back

Wonderful property to get away from everything. Literally only downside is not close to any food options, except the winery down the road. Bring water and snacks for the mini-fridge. Coffee maker was below average. But, bedding and mattress was amazing!

We stayed in Cabin 1 for a wedding onsite. The setting is idyllic and relaxing. Beautiful and enjoyable place to stay. Friendly staff. Gorgeous venue for a wedding. Taylor Bible weddings did a fantastic job of coordinating everything and put together the most beautiful flower arrangements and tablescapes. The guided skeet shooting was a great time and a memorable bonding experience for the wedding party.

We recently stayed at the beautiful Contigo Ranch (5/6/25) at cabin #3. If you’re looking for some beautiful landscape, some peace and quiet, look no further. This place is beautiful, it kind of makes you feel like you’re somewhere in Italy. The cabin is spacious, clean and well decorated, however there were a few things that stopped us from giving it a 5 star rating. The living room could use a sofa in addition to the two chairs and a coffee table. The coffee bar only had sugar available. Stevia would have been nice. There was no side table on the side of the bed I slept on. Also a bigger TV would fit the space better (living room), and a TV in the bedroom would have been amazing! (We usually watch a bit of TV before bed. Again, we are picky but these are things that are important to us. Regardless, we truly enjoyed our stay and would come back to this beautiful place.

Contigo was the perfect venue for our son's wedding. The entire experience was fantastic, and the staff were accommodating and responsive to all our needs throughout the wedding weekend. A special thank you to the housekeeper (whose name we didn't catch) who went above and beyond in helping us with some last-minute printing. The ranch's beauty provided a magical setting for the celebration, and it easily accommodated all of the guests. We loved that it was just a short drive from Fredericksburg but felt wonderfully private and secluded. We highly recommend Contigo for any wedding or event!

Yelp
I stayed here (in cabin one) for my aunt's wedding. I really enjoyed my stay & the cabin was adorable! My aunt's wedding was also so beautiful despite the heat and although a barn wedding was initially planned the hall ended up being the perfect venue and we all had a blast! the ranch is so aesthetically pleasing and the breakfast was yummy! Would definitely stay here again or for longer! Cabin one has plenty of entertaining space as well as sleeping space. My sister and I shared one bedroom while across the way my brother and cousin shared another with two double beds, and we all shared a bathroom. Downstairs there was the master and master bath. Kitchen with a small table, dining room table area, living room with comfortable couches, and a foyer. outside in the back of the cabin there were benches and chairs for people to sit and enjoy the cool night breeze. The downtown area was also super cute and had plenty of cool spots to grab coffee, tacos, etc just was a 20min drive at the least.

Yelp
HORRIBLE ! Do not stay here unless you want to get locked out , they'll give your cabin to someone else last minute & take no accountability, never received a call back an apology or ANYTHING !!

Yelp
Our stay at Contigo Ranch was thoroughly enjoyable. We stayed in Cabin 6, which was spacious and comfortable for my husband, daughter, and me. The grounds are beautifully manicured, surrounded by lush greenery, and feature some short hiking trails. The cottages were impeccably clean, with modern fixtures and updates. A highlight of our stay was the phenomenal breakfast delivered to our door daily. Each day, we enjoyed different homemade meals, including hot sandwiches, muffins, nuts, and more. The portions were generous and very filling. A few minor critiques: the bathroom in Cabin 6 is only on the second floor, which made it a bit challenging to keep our little one asleep when we needed to go upstairs. Additionally, I would suggest rearranging the furniture downstairs, so the couch faces the TV instead of the two accent chairs. Lastly, the parking area a little far from the cabin, making it somewhat cumbersome to carry all our baby gear. However, we were very appreciative that the property provided a pack and play and a baby gate.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. What an incredibly refreshing way to spend a wedding weekend!! We had the pleasure of staying at Contigo Ranch (cabin #2) for my brother in law's wedding last weekend and still buzzing from our stay! Contigo is a family-owned working ranch about 10 minutes away from the mountains (hills) of Enchanted Rock. I have no idea how many acres it consists of...but this place is huge. It is surrounded by different styled cabins, some as traditional looking as ours, where you feel completely lost in time...and some are crafted to have a more modern exterior. Either way, this place makes you feel like you're actually escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life. No cell service as well which some can find irritating but honestly we need a little silence every now and then. The wifi does work for the most part though! Our little weekend home came with a living room area, kitchenette, master bedroom suite and large bathroom with bathtub and shower. While the exterior truly felt like a scene from Little House on the Prairie, the interior came with modern finishes with a perfect touch. Fireplace, but also central heating and cooling. Windows in every corner, but also ceiling fans. You get where I'm going here. The center of the ranch holds a gorgeous event hall perfect for a wedding weekend or party. Depending on what you're looking for, you can choose from the different types of cabins on site to stay. We loved it. I will say, it is on the pricier end (our cabin ran about $350 a night). But you're paying for the convenience and beauty of the ranch. Take a morning stroll for a chance to hang with the cattle or enjoy the complimentary morning breakfast left on your front porch. Either way, you'll enjoy your time.

Yelp
All inclusive crap to eat, rooms are large but ask for more towels to clean the floors and the ceiling was dripping on me when it rained. Takes awhile to go anywhere and take plenty of cash so you can tip the people who drive you around. Go to Jamaica instead. Negril was a 10 and this would be a 1.

Yelp
Great Hill Country getaway. Really good for an event, but also just a great place to get away from it all. I have stayed in both the cottages and the cabins, both have a really different feel. For cottages think Martha Stewart, for cabins think rustic hill country with a modern twist. They are clean, cozy and welcoming. I highly reccomend either.

Yelp
This is an amazing place to stay. You'll be able to see so much wildlife. If you stay on a weekday you may get even more seclusion. The breakfast tacos were also awesome!! Will be back again!!

Yelp
Wow! We fell in love with Contigo Ranch! The serenity you feel staying here is like no other. The ranch is very secluded and about 20 mins from Fredericksburg. The road there is definitely something different compared to what you see in a big city. Our visit was during the week so we were the only folks on the cottage section of the property which we loved. We stayed in cottage #14 and we loved every minute of it. The views from the room were stunning and there is a bit of separation between this cottage and the others. As far as the room, it was very clean and had more than enough space for all your needs. They have light colored curtains so it was bright during the day which we didn't mind but if you need a dark room to nap/sleep please keep this in mind. The room has a small sitting area so you can comfortably eat breakfast inside the room or you can head to the porch area where they have rocking chairs and a table set to hang out outside. A light breakfast and coffee was provided. The food was yummy. The property has a lot of offer. You can walk around the property and take in the views of nature and the wildlife. They have a nice fire pit area with chairs. At night we walked around and saw a lot of stars. We went on a new moon so it was very dark and you can see a tiny tiny bit of the Milky Way. I'm sure if they didn't have so many lights on you could clearly see the Milky Way. The staff was very friendly and helped us when we had a question. It was very easy to make reservations online. Price point was a bit on the higher end of my budget but was worth it. Enchanted Rock is about 12 mins away and the wineries we visited were about 30-45 mins away. We had to drive into town for lunch and dinner since there aren't restaurants around. So keep in mind that you will drive a bit to get around.

Yelp
Wonderful and beautiful stay at Contigo Ranch. The scenery is breath taking, especially on top of the hill where we enjoyed watching the sunrise, sunset and the stars. We stayed in the cabins which were cozy and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast left at our door every morning with a whole kit to take it for a picnic if you wanted to. They also had orange juice in the room to have with breakfast. The drive to downtown was a scenic drive so we didn't mind the 20 mins it took to get there. We loved everything about our stay and look forward to the next time we can escape back to this place. Thank you to Kim and Cynthia who were very helpful through the whole booking process.

Yelp
We attended a wedding at the facility. It was an incredibly hot weekend. The wedding was entirely outside. The ceremony was up on the bluff where there was no shade at all. Three people either passed out or got sick from the heat. The facility should have provided some sort of shade for guests. I realize the bride might not have wanted that but the facility has the liability if guest are getting ill. The reception was also outside that was really uncomfortable. The first course was preset on the plates when it was over 100 degrees. Not appetizing at all. I just feel that the facility needs some requirements for weather issues for the health and comfort of guests.

Yelp
Charming place. The cottages a like Austin's San Jose but in the country. Cabins look adorable. Quiet quiet no Hwy for miles. Just nature and the faux creek and crickets. Excellent breakfast. Solid WiFi. FYI At&t cell service was soft to absent in parts

Yelp
We were one of the first weddings booked at Contigo Ranch when they opened in September 2017. We booked for the following September--one year in advance before they had hosted even a single wedding. We happily paid the $4,000 deposit. Unfortunately, three months later, my father passed away unexpectedly. In the midst of my family's devastation, I decided that it was best to call off our planned wedding, as it felt like the right thing to do both emotionally and financially. While I understand that Contigo Ranch is a business and this is why they have deposits, they did not work with me at all, even though I released my date NINE MONTHS in advance. They offered me $0 in return, even when the rebooked my date. I was so disappointed because I felt like Contigo Ranch was a family owned establishment with family values, and they did not offer so much as a condolence.
