Sweden's oldest hotel, of course renovated. But small rooms, although we had a superior one, the bathroom was very small and old-fashioned and the shower even smaller. Not really 4-star standard with not even a safe deposit box in the room for a relatively high price. Highlight was the breakfast buffet with a very large choice including regional products.

We stayed three in one room with an extra bed that was rock hard with a flat pillow. Luckily, it was only for one night.||The bathroom sink was clogged, which is unhygienic and should have been fixed before guests check in.||Having to book a breakfast time that cannot be changed because it’s “full” is unacceptable—guests shouldn’t have to adapt to the staff’s schedule.||Dinner in the restaurant was also disappointing: the entrecôte was okay, but the French fries were burnt and hard, and at 425 SEK per dish, that’s not cheap.||Positive: Friendly receptionist and nice décor.|Negative: Guest comfort clearly isn’t a priority.

It started badly when I tried to book a single room via the hotel's web site. Unless I added various packs I was unable to continue the booking process. So I phoned the hotel and told them what the problem was and wondered if I could book a single room by phone. I was told they had no single rooms and I was offered a double for 2500 SEK. So I went to Booking.com and found a single room for 900 SEK less. Once checking in, I asked for explanations but received none, only being told the price I paid via Booking was extraordinarily low. The room was really small but had all you need as an avid traveler on his 16th hotel night in a row. Breakfast was up to the star rating. Overall, the experience was not really positive and value for money was on the low side. There appears to be room for improvements in the administrative routines beyond boasting this is Sweden's oldest hotel opening in 1829...

Fantastic old building in a good location. Looks like a high end hotel. Reasonable parking costs in own car park with electric chargers. About £10 overnight to park. Breakfast had home made jam and a lot of other specialities.

Fantastic hotel really convenient and very Central. Very friendly staff. Great bar in a superb setting. Really feels at Market and luxurious. The bedrooms are a good size and shower. Hot and works fine. Highly recommended to start here. Here are some fabulous walks along the boat key and towards the harbour really worth going

This hotel is one of the kind,it sticks out. It is the oldest railway hotel in Sweden. I can really recommend you to visit/stay here. I KNOW,becouse I have,been working there in the kitchen. I love the atmosphere and wings of history.

Great looking old decor in the 1st floor and modern rooms.

4+ stars. I spent two days and one night in this hotel for a conference, and I really enjoyed it. As the oldest hotel in Scandinavia, the building is big, and the interior maintained its charm despite modernization. The overall is really pleasant, with a special mention to the beautiful bistro area. The room was really spacious and well decorated, with all the necessary amenities. The food was good, And some dishes were really delicious. I particularly like the breakfast, together with the friendly and relaxed service.
