This is a beautiful white washed walls convent encrusted on the top of Serra da Arrabida, south of Lisbon, overlooking the ocean, with a fascinating history of its foundations and of the capuchin priests who lived there. They were part of a reform movement within the Franciscan order, 16th century, known for its emphasis on simplicity, poverty, and a contemplative life, focusing on serving the poor and marginalized.
