The church of St. Clara shows a beautiful testimony of her life and is an excellent dedication to her, as are the relics which can be seen just after you visit the church area.
There is the main altar area, the inside chapel, and the old altar piece. In the Santa Clara Convent there is still a rich amount of carved wood decorated with gold leaf as well as Baroque styles. On its walls, it displays Hispano-Arabic tiles dating from the 17th century. In turn, the ceilings are worked in wood.
These facilities also house a collection of restored 17th- and 18th-century canvases.
Each one provides a different atmosphere in which to pray or to simply be present, and all are wonderful. Definitely do not miss this church in Funchal.
