Convento de San José (Carmelitas Descalzas)

I love seeing relics, but I prefer the Monastery. I was out of cash and it's the only way to see the relics. Each section of relics has a light, and there was another group seeing them. I walked in not knowing I had to pay and the lady there is not very nice. She asked what I wanted and I said to look around, she proceeded to turn off the lights of the unused sections and tell me it had a cost. I asked if I could pay with card, and she said cash only and signaled at the door. Didn't feel very catholic, I usually pay, and these places are typically voluntary, so it doesn't limit people. It felt wrong but I might be wrong :) Just my experience-make sure to have cash. But if you don't there are many other places to visit.

Alba de Tormes, where we can see the heart and hand of Saint Teresa de Avila. And the room she died too...a reall blessings to enter in and see the place...

Very quiet and not much visited. The lady who takes care of tourists is not very friendly so that could be the reason why visitors are rarely found.

Primer convenio fundacional de las carmelitas descalzas. Es pequeño. Tiene la iglesia primitiva y otra más grande de estilo de los Austrias. Con capillas laterales , algunas de valor artístico. También tiene pequeño museo con el primer féretro de la Santa

Sólo se visita la Iglesia, que no el convento, que ya te lo recuerda contundentemente la señora que atiende las visitas. Es una Iglesia pequeña pero muy bonita, el museo también es pequeño pero muy difícil de ver, porque las obras se miran a través de unas ventanas con cristales que además tienen rejas. Hay una pequeña tienda. Recomendable si te gusta las huellas de Santa Teresa.
