Commencing our tour of Lima Central, we started at Convent of Santo Domingo. What is striking about the architecture is the beautifully constructed bell tower with its bright blue, white and yellow hues. Inside, the walls are also lined with brightly coloured tiles which reminded us of the tile museum in Lisbon – which coincidentally is located inside a convent as well... You could spend hours inside exploring the intricate architecture and artistry. The staff are incredible and the love they have for the property and grounds really shows. The chair the pope sat on in the 80s is kept here. Guided tours to the tower every few hours is a must! The 360 views across the city and beyond and breathtaking. Shout out to the ginger cat Tobias for the best cuddles.

A beautiful building with stunning architecture, paintings, sculptures and decorative tiles. The central courtyard is atmospheric especially as we visited with the Christmas decorations in place and carols being gently played in the background. The catacombs beneath are eerie yet peaceful and reinforce further the historical value of the monastery. I preferred this to Lima Cathedral.

It's worth the visit if you're downtown. The catacombs are fascinating and the church has a lot of history and is quite impressive.

Beautiful and historic, the Convent is rich in appointments, articles, paintings, and sculptures. Well worth an hour or so visit. And glance at one of the oldest libraries in the world. The gardens are beautifully kept and inspiring. One room was all about Mary and Jesus as a child. Another room had a very short doorway, so my daughter went in and took some pics. Must have been a crypt since one of the pictures she took was a window into a circle of bones. One large mural of an angel was a popular spot to take pictures. Maybe to see how you might look like with wings. Of course we had to do it also.

Really interesting church, especially the feature of the 3 Peruvian saints. It is definitely worth a visit and observation of all the history inside.

I liked the way the tourist guide showed us the history of this convento a lot of people was buried there and you will feel some vibe if you are a sensitive person there is also the remains of Santa Rosa de Lima and San Martin de Porres our very own saints the restrooms are very clean by the way

We found a guide just outside the cathedral. The library, chapel and catacombs were worth the visit.
