We really enjoyed our stay. The location is picturesque and centrally located to the best part of Salvador. Our checkin was very smooth and accommodating our language barrier. The front desk agents also helped us book some tickets swiftly before a sold out Friday night show. The room was spacious and clean and when we had a problem with the shower flooding they immediately gave us the keys to a fresh room next door. Breakfast buffet was generous leading to us being overall very pleased with the stay

Located in the historical part of the city. It used to be a convent and took 5 years to renovate into a hotel. It has maintained the convent's character, dim lighting, vintage furniture, etc. Rooms are spacious, no two rooms are the same. The restaurant is run by renown chef of Bahia. I organized and event here for 50 people. The staff was very professional.

Great building with a lot of history. It was originally a Carmelit Convent. The room are very nice (stayed at a loft room with two floors). The hotel is lacking some maintenance. The green ceramic used in the pool gives an impression that the water is not clean. The breakfast is ok. The staff is friendly and professional and is there to help you if nay issue.

It is a very decent place with friendly staff and a very good location at the historical center of Salvador. The environment here is amazing and I also very much like the monastry/church architecture in which this hotel is placed into. However, the furniture is quite old and my AC is constantly doing some weird noises. Also my blankets were smelly and had some unappetizing stains. All in all, still a recommendable hotel

Very average to be honest. The building is amazing and steeped in history, but everything else about the hotel is middle of the road. The rooms are dark and ours smelt damp, the restaurant is awful and expensive, a bad combination. We ordered lunch one day and it took a whole hour for the food to arrive and it was poor quality, my advise would be to eat at one of the restaurants in town or opposite. The bar is poorly attended and extremely slow, we ordered a bottle of wine and a mojito and it took 30 minute's for either to show up. Bar and breakfast staff also seem totally disinterested in helping customers. All in all I'd stay elsewhere, especially for the price.

We went for drinks and didn't stay at the hotel. The caipirinhas were really tasty with exotic local fruits which were presented to us by a very nice waiter. We also had a really good taste of fried manioc - a must have even if you had in other places. Sit by the pool and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere!

Stayed here for 3 nights. The building is great. The staff is very friendly BUT... the hotel needs a lot of work. It is frustrating to see that management does not care about the basics. Here some advice: - The elevator smells damp (like a wet dog died in it): remove old smelly carpet. - The old (decoration) pillows and blankets on the beds are stained: could better just be removed. - The breakfast is very basic and all products (bread, cakes etc) come from packaging: hire someone who can bake some home-made bread, make home-made jams etc. (Because of the bad breakfast we did not dare to have lunch or dinner at the hotel) - old art on the wall looks dated and neglected : work with local artists to create some big (instagram worthy) modern art pieces. the combination of old and new will create a beautiful experience. - a lot of the “public” space/ rooms are empty: allow local artists to showcase their work in the hotel. Creat a space that is not just a hotel but a community. These old walls should be alive with art, music and laughter. And it will give guests an unique experience that will make them want to return. (See what Ace Hotel in New York is doing.) OVERALL: Every detail (from the logo stickers on the reception glass doors to curtains, pillows, chairs etc) looks like it has been neglected for a long time. The building is so beautiful and could be easily turned into an amazing hotel. But for that management needs a better eye for detail.

It could be a great hotel but it is not because it missing the basic quality in the important things like the breakfast which is so far the worst I had in an hotel in Brasil and the fact that in general the hotel is not clean. Too bad for a place so beautiful that can host conferences and have many guests.
