Nice and quiet campground. The area is well-maintained, plenty of space between sites. Toilets are clean.
I booked for a tent site#9 but the ground was too wet to set up a tent, so I ended up sleep in a car. Anyway, I really enjoyed my time there. It’s a good campsite for a night stay.

We stopped here for our lunch break. Great looking camping area with flushing toilets, grassed areas, trees and vehicle parking bays (will need to bring own drinking water). The sites are numbered so require a booking before arriving. Coochin is located a short drive off the Pacific Highway along Roys Road. Being this close to the city the camp area will be very busy on weekends and school holidays. Probably best to pack the ear plugs if noise is a problem.

Not happy at all with our experience. Came to our campsite and when we got there there was someone already there who had no car just a trailer and a tent when we kindly excused ourselves and had a conversation with the guy who was by himself it was clear is was smoking something and under the influence he stated that apparently the rangers told him that he was aloud to stay there and we can can go camp in the day area. We didn’t know what to believe he said he was homeless and the rangers said he could stay there for 21 days himself and his friends which were all camped around him again no car. After being on the phone for 45 minutes there wasn’t mist that could be done that lady said on the phone that it is against the rangers policy and that should not be allowed she also said that we are definitely not allowed to camp in the day area. We asked for a refund but she couldn’t do much about that either just got out booking cancelled and told we aren’t guaranteed a refund. For a claimed to be “family friendly” campground this is far from it. If I could give it 0 stars it would be. We have had this booked for 1 month in advance and it just goes know we have to try find somewhere else to stay as who would feel safe at a place like this there is 4 of them all messy and scrappy DO NOT COME HERE we are leaving for our own safety.

Level parking and sites! Flushing toilets and river closeby! Site 6 & 7 would be best for river frontage and shade. Sites inside the circular road have firepits and good sunlight for tents or solar on small vans, but less privacy. See our photo of the site map. We went paddleboarding up the river to the boat ramp. Fishing is popular along the river here.

It was amazing despite not having showers, drinking water and electricity. New toilets, quiet and not overcrowded! Easily access to water activities (but no swimming). Must bring your own firewoods and drinking water. Be careful with the birds, especially the turkeys, otherwise it will take your foods. Also, a booking is required!

Very beautiful area. Easy to get to by car. We used our sedan.
Each site is well spaced from it's neighbour.
The firepits are nice and big; each spot gets its own.
Only downsides are that swimming is not allowed and not having any proper walking trails. But it's ideal if you plan to just relax and fish/kayak.
The toilets are close by, and are wheelchair accessible.
We booked our spot online.
Overall, I'd definitely come back again.

Nice enough camp site and fishing access, however it has the most disgusting toilet facilities I have ever used in my life. Sanitary bins full and overflowing, all toilets disgustingly soiled and just gross.

Love it here. Been a few times. Not much to do but relax and fish. Boat ramp 1km away. Toilets are clean enough. People camping are an interesting mix. Young ones seem to leave their rubbish as there are no bins. No Ranger so you have to enjoy who turns up.
