Super fun cooking class!! I didn't really pay too much attention to the leveling of classes but was informed we had signed up for the beginners course which was so surprising because there were quite a few technical tasks involved!
We started at the Cooking Lisbon kitchen and then walked as a group to the market. We had about 5 minutes or so to explore before getting a chance to taste test some cheeses, breads, and roasted pork. We then walked around and bought our groceries and seafood for our group meal before making the trek back to the kitchen.
When we returned there was a wonderful spread of cheeses, bread, jams, and nuts for us to snack on while we cooked. There was also unlimited wine, juice, and water available to us as we cooked and later with our meals. As a group we chopped up vegetables, minced garlic, peeled oranges and prepped the seafood. All remains went into a simmering pot that would become our soup. We shucked oysters and ate them raw, we filleted about four fish and prepared the clams. It was such a blast and everyone was so much fun to be around. Our instructor Paulo and his assistant Fernanda were so kind and patient, it was truly such a great time and intro to Portuguese cuisine!
