Cook's Boathouse Restaurant

We had a wonderful dining experience with a beautiful water view that made the meal even more memorable. We ordered the catfish sandwich and the fried seafood platter, and both dishes were excellent. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and crispy, while the seafood platter was generous, fresh, and cooked just right. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food with a scenic backdrop!

Really enjoyed myself her very laid back small hole in the wall. Priced very decently Sandra our waitress was pleasant had a great sense of humor and was fun to talk to. Be warned that the food does take a while to cook but it's worth the wait. Got the open roast beef sandwich and my dad got the catfish. We shared a side of shrimp. Everything was excellent 10/10

Fried green 🍅 were tasty. Light music on the deck would have been a nice touch. Service was good.

My husband and I love this restaurant! We have never had a bad meal. We take my mother in law here for lunch a couple of days a week! The staff is amazing! We will be back!

The burger was really good, fries were good. Shrimp and mozzarella stick were not great, not terrible. Sweet tea was okay. Service was great, our waitress was super sweet. The pricing seemed high for a lot of the dishes, over all I would go back for the burgers but not the other dishes we had.

My family and I went here today and we were incredibly happy with our whole experience. I unfortunately do not remember the names of the 2 staff members that surrounded our son with love and kindness. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The gentleman from the kitchen came out twice to speak to our 6 year old son. It made his day. Our waitress was just as kind and I would love to be able to give credit where credit is due, but I am terrible with names and I did not catch them. But I just want you 2 to know that today was undoubtedly the best restaurant experience we have had with our son. When we left, he even referred to it as the loving restaurant Lol and to us, that is what it will be known as from now on. Thank you all again, and God bless you all.

This little gem is absolutely fantastic! If I lived near, I'd have breakfast here every single day! Stopped in for breakfast on our way through and we were delightfully surprised. Food was fantastic and the staff were even better! Extremely friendly and happy staff! Thanks for the great food and excellent service!

A pleasant experience with views of Cherokee Lake and some mallards on the grounds. The food was good - club and hamburger were good. A friendly atmosphere. I will note that it's easy to miss the sign for the restaurant unless you look closer.

I ordered the Senior slider and fries. Good meat, dressed out perfectly although the roll was a brick! Fries not grade A frozen but tasty. Great service and lake ambiance.

This was the worst catfish that I've ever had. I got grilled catfish with green beans and a salad. It's canned green beans literally just out of the can no seasoning no salt no nothing. The catfish could've had at least some salt, pepper, or seasoning of any kind. It literally tasted like they boiled it in water and then threw it in the pan for a minute. In a picture on here it looked good and it looked like it had seasoning on it. I guess they forgot it this time.

Just had another wonderful experience at the Boathouse! Best burger on the lake. The waitstaff is always pleasant and attentive. It's always more like eating at their home instead of a restaurant; you are actually treated like a guest.. nice view of the lake and there is always a witty conversation to be had with the owner. That would be "the old guy at the register" or the "dude" who has to deal with folks who haven't come to grips with the lakeway pace of life.. Good place to eat and a chance to spend some time with some genuinely nice folks. Stop in and relax, it will do you good

First time - went for lunch. Server JoEll was great! Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. With the exception of french fries, the portion sizes were quite small. I had pickle spears as an appetizer for $6.40, which was the smallest I've ever gotten (photo attached). My husband ordered the catfish, which was 3 maybe 4 ounces max. It wasn't breaded, just sautéed and plain. He consumed it before I could get. photo. His green beans were out of a can so nothing special. Our food wasn't cold or hot but warm to luke-warm. But the portion of French fries was very good.

They really deserved 1 or 2 stars, but I will give them grace because it was Father's Day, plus I've visited this restaurant before and enjoyed my meal. It took about 20-30 minutes to get seated, which was understandable. Once we ordered, it was almost an hour later when the server came out and said "Is French fries okay, we ran out of baked potatoes?" The food was coming out one plate at a time. People all around us were griping. Nobody really apologized for the wait, or the outages. What I found most disturbing was that the man at the cash register, who I assume was the manager, was doing nothing but sitting in a booth, pecking on his phone, and doing absolutely nothing to help out--either in the kitchen, or with service recovery with the customers. Once all the food finally got there, the portions were pitifully sparse. It's like they'd ran out of food and were rationing it. All in all, it was a bad experience. This is really sad because it's a lakeside restaurant, in the middle of summer, with a busy marina behind them. They should be crushing it, business wise. Not sure I'll be back.

I do like this place. We had to stop going here because we have gluten intolerance. They offer gluten free buns. But we can't tell the difference between the regular ones and gluten free unfortunately. We have gotten really sick twice, even after telling them. The food here is good (of what we can eat.) If you're from out of town and looking for good food, try it out. But if you have gluten issues, move on.

Had a weird experience this weekend at the Boathouse, which I usually like. Brought in some friends from out of town for dinner. When the waitress approached, my friend asked what were the soups of the day and which would she recommend. She made a face and said honestly, I wouldn't recommend any of our soups. Seemed like a very strange comment for someone working there. And it just set off our choice of restaurant like a bad choice. We ended up ordering dinners. One of our party ordered crabcakes and they came on a plate with no sauce, so she asked if there was tartar sauce and the waitress said "oh well we have crabcake sauce." I don't understand why that wouldn't have been offered or put on the plate. We were raving about the homemade desserts so when it came time for dessert and we went to order she said "we don't really have much left". We were interested in what was called "Pig Pickin Cake," so we asked about it. Again, she made a face and said not one of my favorites. But then she did describe it. She didn't mention peanut butter pie, even though it was listed on the board as a special of the day so we asked. She left and came back and said yes I do have a couple of slices of that left. All in all it wasn't a bad meal, but I'm sharing this because the waitress really should be trained better. I'd think you would want her to be an ambassador for your restaurant, not someone who makes the offerings sound bad.

Spent a week in Tennessee and was thrilled to find a place I could get some decent gluten free food at a sit down restaurant! My friends eat here often and the love it... they weren't wearing! Great food!

Great place to stop for a bite to eat by the water! My husband and I had the moonshine burger and the patty melt!! Very good and cooked perfectly. Friendly atmosphere! Our waitress gave us a sample of onion rings to try bc we never came here before. GOOD!! Also make sure u try the boat sauce with them!

Went for breakfast. Staff were friendly and our server Betty was attentive. We enjoyed a patio table outside with lake view. Biscuits and gravy were delicious and the pancakes are 10/10! Did not disappoint and the price was right.

Me and my wife went here one morning just looking for something different I gotta say the food is good home cooked food we set on the back deck and looked over the water had great conversation with two other women were down home for it down to earth very good food waitress was phenomenon. I would recommend going here.

Great view of the lake! Wonderful customer service! Top notch Reuben and a special for the CatFish all you can eat!! Totally worth the stop as you are driving through! They even helped to prepare a specific shellfish free grilled catfish special for us!! We loved our waitress Mandy-- she was so personable and on top of everything we needed the entire experience!

Don't waste your time, waited over an hour for food. The tables around us turned over. When asked to check, the owner lied claiming the kitchen was backed up, with a very disrespectful attitude. When in reality they lost our ticket in the kitchen. The same guy also attempted to over ring our ticket, and when this was pointed out, it was met with that same attitude. The way it was done wasn't like mistakenly ringing up something that wasn't on the ticket. But inflating each item on the ticket.

Great food with terrible service . Dude running the register up front its the most dreadful person I have ever met . Talks to the servers like dogs and was plum hateful to me for just getting a to go order . Makes me sad we absolutely love coming to the lake and eating here but won't be back until something is done about him and we will be making sure everyone else knows to . What a creep

This was a fantastic establishment to visit. Great atmosphere, great ambiance, great service, hot food service. Overall experience was amazing. Would highly recommend to all my family friends.

Great friendly service! Food was good, nice size portions and the price was reasonable. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck and watching the boats on the water and feeding the ducks. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a good meal.

Being new to the area my husband and I came here for breakfast today ! Our server was amazing and very kind , food was delicious and the prices were reasonable ! Our table over looked the beautiful lake ! I highly recommend this amazing establishment!

We had a mini reunion here with an aunt and cousin while vistibg Tennessee. There were six in our party and everyone enjoyed it. Hubby had the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes. He said it was like granny's. Daughter enjoyed the BLT with fries. Aunt devoured the 8 ounce ribeye. We teased her about having any fingers left. Cousin and her husband enjoyed the fried cod. They said it tasted really fresh. I had the chicken fried steak. It was so tender I could cut it with my fork. We all left saying how good it was and how we wish we had found it sooner.

Lovely spot with beautiful lake scenery in Bean Station outside Morristown, TN. Enjoyed sitting on outside patio. Enjoy their Catfish but go early to miss the crowd! Friday night is all you can eat catfish.

Awful food and even worse management!!!!!! We definitely won't be back. My food was disgusting and I did not eat it. The waitress said it would be taken off the ticket. When we went to pay, the rude old man kept ringing numbers up to get it to the total he wanted. This was after "removing" my meal from the ticket! That's theft to me!!!

Probably the best place around for grub. Yelp directions take you to the opposite side of the road. When you end up in someone's driveway, shoot across the highway and you'll see the restaurant. Great view of the lake, very reasonable prices. Staff is very welcoming. Lisa was one of the best servers I've ever encountered in my foodie travels around the world. We sat on the back patio where the football game was playing and the bugs were serenading us. Definitely set the mood since we don't have bugs in Vegas. I put a hurt on a blue cheese bacon burger with a side of pickles. Thankfully, our server caught me in time and told me to save room for the pumpkin pecan pie. Holy smokes. This dessert will knock your socks off. We ate it so fast I couldn't even get a photo. My group had the seafood platter and country fried steak. Everyone was very happy with their choices. Highly recommend the Boathouse if you are looking for good food.

If you can, sit outside. Beautiful view. The food was excellent and the service was on the spot. One of the few restaurants out of a town that serves beer!! We will definitely be back !

I would say that the food is fair but, not worth the price. My wife got chicken tenders that were from the freezer not made from scratch. I got a burger that was supposed to be on a grilled bun, instead it was on toast.

Love this adorable spot. Good, solid food...nothing fancy. Owners who recognize you quickly after your first visit or two, which I love! They have started making vanilla and chocolate frozen custard...best I have had, including the Jersey Shore which is downright famous for this delicious treat! Breakfast is my favorite meal there, but the dinner specials are lovely, too. Butternut squash soup is fantastic and the broasted chicken is divine! Come by boat or car and enjoy this lovely little treat!

Great Service & Awesome Food! We ate the Catfish dinner, Country Fried Steak, and a Bacon Cheeseburger. Everything was cooked perfect and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend!

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and the food is reliably good. The service is efficient and friendly and the prices are reasonable as well. They have dock if you arrive by boat and if your lucky enough to find an open table you can sit outside and look at the lake.

Visited here on a late Friday afternoon. Ordered the all you can eat catfish that includes hush puppies, Cole slaw and fries. Friendly service, delicious catfish dinner and a seat on the deck overlooking the lake. Great experience and will definitely return here again.

Have been there twice now, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Food was very good both meals. Staff is very friendly. Views of the waterfront are always nice too!

This place was recommended to us from a lady at a store several miles away. We are so glad we stopped and didn't keep driving. Had the fried catfish and it was well prepared. The onion rings were good as well as the hush puppies. The servers were a delight, great personality.

All you can eat catfish on Fridays, so worth it. Excellent service, great desserts and they make their own ice cream on site!

First time here. A nice place, with good food, at a reasonable price. My friends had the all-you-can-eat catfish, all all said it was great. My dish, hot beef and gravy, on bread, was very tasty, and the portion was big enough to take half home.

Had breakfast on the porch this morning! Watched the fish jumping it was great !! The food was fantastic,it's hard to find good gravy and biscuits! It's just as great as dinner it doesn't seem to matter what you get it's great ! My compliments to the chef !!!!

Just went for dessert but those were great! Nice to sit outside and watch the lake. Not fancy but laid back and comfortable. Friendly staff. Will definitely go back.
