If you’re on the hunt for a real smash burger in BC, this little gem absolutely delivers. The burger was everything a smash burger should be — thin, beautifully crispy on the outside, and still moist and flavourful inside. The lettuce and tomato were fresh (no mushiness here), and the bacon was cooked to perfection: crispy without being overdone. Every bite had that perfect balance of texture and flavour. The vanilla milkshake? Creamy, rich, and just sweet enough without being overpowering. A classic done right. And let’s talk about the “Messy” fries — loaded with sour cream, green onion, and stadium cheese sauce. They were indulgent, flavour-packed, and completely worth it. Definitely the kind of side dish you don’t want to share. A true hidden gem that’s doing comfort food right. Thanks COOKS Restaurant!

This place probably has the best fried chicken sandwich I've eaten. The fried chicken is juicy but the batter is super crunchy. The sauce, the bun, and all the toppings are just perfect. It made me feel $15 for a sandwich is justified. The burger is also very good. The half and half side for $7 is a great option for those who want a bit of everything. More places should offer it. I'd love to come back to Cumberland just to eat here

The simplicity of their offerings is a testament to their dedication to perfection. The menu is straightforward, free from any fusion or bizarre interpretations of the classic burger. The burgers and fries are delivered promptly, maintaining their heat and freshness, which is a rare delight in the fast-paced world of dining. Hot hamburgers; imagine that! While the experience is nearly flawless, there is one minor suggestion for improvement: the provision of more substantial napkins. Given the caliber of their burgers, a napkin that can withstand the juicy goodness would be a welcome addition. In conclusion, if there is a better hamburger out there, I have yet to discover it. Best burger I’ve ever had. Come for the cute little town, stay for the burger. Eat two, or three. I wish I had. I’m now home on my couch, eating dry tortilla chips, feelin a little sad that I’m not eating one right now. Absolutely a 10/10 for everything: service, great patio, good beer, gooooooooood burger. Love you Cooks, can’t wait to come back!

An all-around great spot! The vanilla milkshake was delicious and not too heavy, the fries were crispy and well-seasoned, and the burger was fantastic! Their "secret sauce" was delicious, and the ratio of toppings was perfect. The service was efficient and friendly. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends!

The smash burgers were amazing and the fries were delicious, especially the messy fries. We had a great time and 100% a hidden gem in Vancouver Island.

The restaurant looks unassuming and on a side street, but once we ordered food and a nice pilsner beer, it turns out this is a place you don't want to miss. Simply put , it was one of the best hamburgers we've ever had and reasonably priced as well. When we're in Cumberland next time, this will be our goto for burgers and beer.

Best burger on Vancouver island... this place is a must try. Food is from a self serv counter, so more like a fast food setup than a sit down restaurant... however the food is anything but "fast food". Everything is made in house and top quality.

Great breakfast and nice warm inviting atmosphere Music was fantastic and lighting is conducive to conversation. I will be back to grab some merchandise which i must say is very cool. Worth a visit. Fast service too!
