This winery once offered visitors a wonderful experience for adults and children. There were rides for the kids, a golf course, a restaurant serving three meals each day including big buffet breakfasts, (the final lunch only offerings from the restaurant closed during 2025). Losing the restaurant negatively impacts your stay because most rooms have limited to no real usable kitchenettes so now you have to leave the vineyard to eat. There are no more live music performances, or a bar to get a drink. You no longer get a bottle of wine upon on arrival in your room. Wifi isn't available anymore. There were no tea towels in the kitchens so we had to use hand towels to clean. The air conditioners struggle to keep the rooms cool. There were cockroaches running around our room. Dirty glasses in the cupboard that couldn't be used until we washed them.
The oven didn't work and our room is one of the few rooms that have one. The rooms are full of really dated fittings and furniture that are quite old, uncomfortable, or low standard at best. Coolangatta vineyard is historical and the buildings, from the outside at least, still have charm. The insides however are in desperate need of renovating and invigoration just like the warm atmosphere and services that no longer exist...
