While the wine selection was impressive and well-curated, the overall experience was unfortunately let down by the service and food. Our meals arrived lukewarm/cold at best. The staff seemed distracted, disengaged and this is clear and evident in the aggressive response/s given by the owner to an honest review. If the staff were approachable we would have raised our concerns regarding the food. However, the table next to us had provided honest feedback to the staff and they were met with hostile staff. Read all past reviews carefully as this is and has been an ongoing issue for years, it appears. Wish we had seen the reviews earlier. Our feedback was passed on to our tour company. It's a shame, because the wine itself was excellent — but it deserves to be enjoyed in an environment that matches its quality. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. With a little more attention to detail and care for the customer experience, this could be a truly great spot. As it stands, I won’t be returning!

Whilst it is frustrating to get rude responses from the company completely trying to turn our honest review into misleading lies, I believe the truth can clearly be seen in the constant hostile responses by Coolangatta Estate to every lower review by all who read. ** I also cannot believe that this company is so upset about a few bad reviews that they are now posting fake reviews trying to negatively put our group down. I want to confirm, we were not drunk nor trying to get drunk, In fact we were simply sitting around a table talking to each other. This is disgusting from this company. This stop was part of our tour for lunch and wine tasting. The wine itself was great, and Bailey, who did our tasting, was awesome. He offered to give us history about each wine, but we could see he was juggling a few tables, so we just said we were happy to enjoy the tasting as-is. At no point did we say anything rude, which we’ve now been accused of. After the tasting, we bought a case of wine. While paying, we mentioned our lunch had been cold, and Bailey kindly gave us a free bottle to make up for it, which was a lovely gesture and very appreciated. Unfortunately, while Bailey was great, the same can’t be said for the some of the staff, not only on the day but seems also in replying to google reviews. We also chatted with a few other groups who had similar experiences, and we saw a staff member talk down to another table after they gave feedback in a pretty condescending way. To top it off, a truthful review was responded to with accusations of being dishonest and misleading, which just adds to the poor experience. The wine and Bailey’s service were definite highlights, but overall, the visit was let down by some really disappointing hospitality from other staff.

We visited this winery as part of a hens party and were left incredibly disappointed. What was meant to be a fun and memorable day turned into a frustrating experience due to poor service and lack of attention to detail. First off, the food was stone cold when it arrived — not just lukewarm, but genuinely cold. For a venue that promotes itself as a high-end winery, this was unacceptable. It seemed like it had been sitting out for ages before being brought to the table. Service was slow and inattentive. Staff barely checked in with our group, and it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. Given that we had a booking and were a large group celebrating a special occasion, we expected at least a basic level of hospitality, but that was clearly too much to ask. Overall, the whole experience felt poorly managed and underwhelming. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for group events or celebrations. Ps Bailey was fantastic with the wine tasting but was so busy dealing with all the different groups as they were understaffed as my daughter Rhiannon mentioned above,

We stopped at Coolangatta Estate as part of a wine tour for a hens party (the tour itself was fantastic), but this venue was a huge letdown. There were 13 of us, and the food served at lunch was cold and stale, honestly inedible, we didn’t touch it. We weren’t the only table complaining either. The wine tasting that followed was just as frustrating, with only one staff member trying to manage all the groups. Service was painfully slow and clearly under-resourced. Beautiful setting, but the experience didn’t match. We won’t be back.

Liam was an incredible host for wine tasting! So knowledgeable and lovely - would recommend anyone to come here. Great to hear about the history considering it’s a family owned vineyard. The wines are also very tasty which was a bonus

Bailey was fantastic with our wine tasting. Couldn’t have received better service. Definitely went above and beyond. If we return we will definitely request Bailey to serve us.

Edited after reading previous reviews. Had a unwined picnic with 18 girls. Service was really disappointing. Location was beautiful but after paying over $2000 we had to ask for our wine after over an hour , toilet paper and was told too busy when askes for a knife for a cake and was given a butter knife. Really disappointing Adding : we were told when asked about our wine that we were supposed to do a wine tasting.. we didn't do one and by the time they noticed everyone was eating and in swing of a bridal party so they just choose wines for us. We have sent them a email prior to this review so that they were aware of our dissatisfaction. We have asked for a deposit back which was only non refundable if terms and conditions werent breached (they were not ) The only staff memeber i could find on the day was a lovely lady who was contracted to them which she then told me she doesnt work for them and she went and done what the staff should have ).

Excellent wine tasting and great knowledge from Bailey who helped us out. Winners for us were the Tempranillo and the Verdelho which was hands down one of the most unique and delicious tropical kinda tasting white wines we've ever had. Beautiful location and scenery - we ended up on a self-guided tour because we couldn't get enough of it all. Can't wait to return next time we're down the coast, couldn't recommend it enough.

Yelp
Alexander's Restaurant at Coolangata Estate. Not impressed i'm afraid. Dined here on a Saturday night, the clue was in the number or diners, not many of us, perhaps only 7 tables all night. Slow service, disinterested waitress and average food. I had a steak, it was tough, no steak knife given or offered. We had three courses, all of which were average and didn't justify the price tag, approx. $30 per main.
