Coolidge Corner Guest House is a lovely change from big hotels. The rooms are small but homey. The location was great, in a cute neighborhood. It is good to be aware, though, that there are some steep stairways, no elevator. It is an older house! The earplugs left for us on the end tables were a bit concerning. It was easy to hear people in the hallway, but the guests were all considerate and there was no noise at night - earplugs not needed. The breakfast was more than enough, including bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and tea. In the dining room we met some other travelers and the living room was a comfortable place to spend a bit of time outside of our bedroom. We had a room with a private bath, but not all the rooms do, so be aware of what you are reserving. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Second time staying here for local visit, vastly preferred over the nearby Marriott(and its noisy in room air conditioner) and the Arcadian (because if it's more generic giant hotel space). ||I don't mind the Arcadian and have stayed there twice, it's just a very different feel than being in a Victorian style home with small stairs of room with whatever furniture they've chosen to furnish it with, old, wooden dresser, etc.. it's homey, because it was a home. The breakfast is nice, the stair spaces are compact, but the rooms are plenty big, the beds were comfortable. It's on a quiet little street about six minutes from central Coolidge corner. ||If you are seeking more standardized hotel features, desk clerk, hotel lobby, hallways and doors etc-- stay at the nearby hotels. If you are seeking a guest house experience, this is place, Next visit to coolidge corner, I'll be back here.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Coolidge Corner Guest House. It was amazing being so close to shops and the train. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Sharing a bathroom was not bad at all. I will definitely stay again when I come back to Boston!

I was disappointed with this experience. It basically brought me back to my college days traveling abroad and staying at hostels. Our room was ok in appearance but I was shocked that we had to share the bathroom down the hall with the entire floor. No water in the room or drinking water. It was stated that the room had ac but our room had a small night stand plug-in unit the size of a coffee maker that made a lot of noise and smelled but didn’t cool so we turned it off. Ear plugs are provided which I used because the office/ living room is literally on the other side of a blocked off door separating the two rooms. The cleaning ladies and guests hanging out in there early were talking all morning which sounded like it was in our room so I was forced to get up early. I didn’t sleep but 2 hours. The room itself burned my eyes and nose all night with some kind of old smokey, chemical smell like an ashtray that was cleaned with chemical but couldn’t get rid of the smell. Breakfast was kind of basic- muffins, packaged bars, coffee, tea, yogurt. The other thing is that we paid for parking except they park on a thin strip driveway (with literally about 6 inches on each side of your door)in a line so you have to leave your key so your car can be moved if someone else had to leave. No thanks. I paid too much for my new car to let someone else navigate that driveway. If that sounds like an adventure to you, and you like random people preparing food in the kitchen, steps away from where you are going to the bathroom or showering (truly), this is your place. Otherwise- most other places would be more ideal.

Nice quiet neighborhood, old house, rooms are on 2nd & 3rd floors, no elevator.|Room was basic, but clean, good A/C, good shower, didn't eat breakfast food. |T line stop 5 mins away, 2 supermarkets nearby, about 15 mins by train to downtown Boston.|Good place to stay for a short time.

The perfect place to stay for dropping my daughter off for college at MCPHS. Comfortable bed and all the amenities you need. The shower is a little tight but great water pressure & temperature controls. Will be back!

It was a pleasant stay and the staff were very friendly. We were here for the Boston Marathon and they baked fresh cookies for afterward! Otherwise, they were quiet, but available when needed. The location is excellent. Easy access to the D line to get up to the buses, great restaurants around (two entirely vegan! Rythym & Wraps and PLNT Burger. Highly recommend both. The downside of the guest house is the lack of air conditioning. My partner and I were in a room where fans were provided, however they didn't work. Fortunately I had read other reviews stating this issue and brought a small one of my own. The floors are creaky and the walls seem rather thin, but our room also had a white noise machine and that helped. We do plan on staying here again for the friendliness, location fair cost, and uniqueness.

If you are looking for a modern hotel room, this might not work for you. If you like Victorian B&B's, this could be the place. It's kind of old-fashioned but nice and clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for public transit. There is limited on-site parking. I would certainly go back. The stairs are steep, though. Also, the walls are thin, and the floors creak a bit, but people were considerate, so that was not a problem.
