The street art tour with Santiago has been amazing. At the beginning of the tour, Santiago explained the difference between street art and graffiti and then he guided us through the streets of Lavapies commenting the various artists and styles. We ended the tour with a street art activity. Tour recommended if you want to know something about the Madrid’s underground culture!

The guide broke down the history of Madrid’s mural scene, gave us the inside scoop on local street art festivals, and even schooled us on the real difference between graffiti and street art (it’s more than just vibes and spray cans). You could feel the passion radiating from our guide—someone who’s clearly rooted in the culture and not just reciting from a script. The art? Stunning. The stories behind it? Even better. 💡 Pro tip: Bring water. We went in July and by noon it was already 32°C (aka “very toasty”). That said, the walking was totally manageable. We’re already plotting a return to see more neighborhoods. And yes—we’ll be sending our San Antonio guests this way when they land in Madrid. The tour began in Lavapiés and the guide show us the street art and the graffiti art. I like so much this tour and the attitude of the guide made us feel comfortable.

The tour was very informative, and we learned a lot about the origins and “rules” of street art. We saw beautiful examples that reinforced the story. Highly recommended — we’ve learned to look at the city through a different lens. It was my first street art guided tour and it was fantastic! We visited two neighborhood of Madrid: Lavapies and Embajadores. I loved understand how street art transmit ideas and diferent cultures. Santiago was our guide and has a lot of knowledge about street art, all the tour was amusing and interactive. The visit was well organized, started at time and I had enough time to take photos. At the end of the tour we practiced making graffitis, painting shirts and totem bags and that was amazing. I hope that Cooltourspain could organize this kind of tours in other places of Madrid. I recommend this tour 100%!.

Lovely and insightful street art tour led by Javier. He is quite passionnate about his topic and has a great inside knowledge of the local community and how it relates to the art pieces we pass along the way. This is super interactive so time really flies
