Amazing cochinita. The best I've had. Friendly servers.

While I cannot attest to the authenticity of the food here compared to that in the Yucatán, nor compare this to other places specializing in this kind of food, I can certainly attest to how tasty it was and to how much we enjoyed our experience here. While the sauce in which the Chamorro (pork shank) looked as if it would be incredibly rich and robustly flavored, it was a surprisingly mild taste. Never fear! The homemade salsas offered more than made up for that. Meanwhile, the Papadzules in pepino sauce were also surprisingly mild in flavor but made for an excellent contrast in flavor and color. The atmosphere was very much a locals only sort of place and, by getting there shortly after opening time, at 12:15, we were able to avoid the crowds. Service was accordingly somewhat more personal than we had been led to expect. Definitely recommended!

This is a local restaurant downtown México City. It is well located and if one is in the area this is a posible option to try "Yucateca" traditional cuisine. Meals are of quality and flavor. Perhaps, tableware (made ou of melamina) demerits dishes. Atmosphere is OK, although inside of restaurant some maintenance is needed. Restaurant is in 1st and 2nd floor. It also has enough parking (ground floor). Restaurant has local live music as well as folklore dance from Yucatán. Because this restaurant has long "tradition" and to keep it perhaps more maintenance and mainly in the restrooms is needed. This last situation is which I base this three star ranking. Something that was terrible: restrooms are not ok at all. I bet with some little redecoration and a full restrooms renewal. This restaurant will improve lots.

Cochinita pibil was amazing! And so was the sopa de tortilla! The spot is well located and it looks like a very popular destination since a lot of walk ins came into the restaurant while we were n joying lunch!

Delicious food with a specialty in Pork. We had the tacos negra something. Basically it's pork taco with black sauce. Super delicious. We also had all their versions of pork taco. If you are in downtown, check it out. The plates are on the smaller side which is nice.

Great ambiance with live music and dancing, second floor nice dining room, long line on a Saturday but it goes quickly. The cochinita pibil tacos were delicious, but I was especially impressed with the incredibly flavorful sopa de Lima and the papadzules.

It's a very simple place on the third floor. The food is delicious. They open at 10 am.

Google
The best cochinita in CDMX, hands down. A necessary stop if you’re in the city. Amazing, quick service and live music as a bonus.

Yelp
We received a recommendation to go here and stopped by while checking out the city center. This place is not touristy at all so don't expect all the bells and whistles of places that cater to tourists. I would recommend stopping by this place if you're trying to find a less touristy place to go and are in the area but I don't think it's worth seeking out if you're not going to be in the area already.

Yelp
Our tour guide recommended this place for an un-touristy experience and he was right. It was full of local families. The food is not fancy and it looks like the pibil is the thing to order, which my friend did. The meat was very tender--practically falling off of the bone, but not a lot of spice. I am not a meat eater, however, and there wasn't much on the menu for me. I had a dish of three small corn stacked tortillas that had some fish in it and was covered by a mild tomato sauce. It was just OK, actually the least interesting and savory dish I've had in Mexico City. We also had a small dish of refried black beans with chips. The prices are reasonable and we were able to sit by the window. Not sure we would return, though.

Yelp
Food and service was wonderful. We have been coming to this place for over 10 years. The dishes that they serve are so tasty of the Yucatán such as: tacos de relleno negro, sopa de lima, and cochinita (marinated pork wrapped in banana leaves and roasted in an underground pit). It is truly worth visiting.

Yelp
Excellent FOOD! Came here with new coworkers who were taking me around the city. When locals say, "this is the place we always come to" then you know you want to eat here for lunch We started with "sopa de lima" or lime soup and it was simple yet delicious. Moved on to Manita Pibil or Pork Foot cooked underground. Then two types of tacos all accompanied by amazing salsas and pickle red onions. Amazing food!

Yelp
There was a line up when got there. Make sure you put your name down before you line up. They will call your name. We decided to leave the line and come back in 45 minutes. But by then they were near closing so they had shut the gate. After speaking to the staff for a bit they decided to accommodate us! Service at the table was amazing. From splitting our soup to individual portions to being positive and trying to understand our broken Spanish. They're probably not used to foreigners. We got the speciality Cochinita (Pork) and the Black Egg dish with Turkey in my photos. (We ordered by pointing) and the Lime Soup. We also got a jug of Sangria. Total came to $500 Pesos between 4 people. Inside was also very lively, local spot with live music! We loved it.

Yelp
Amazing! Ate here for breakfast/lunch when on vacation through a friend's recommendation. One of the best tostadas I've ever had in my life. So simple and so delicious. Neither of us spoke Spanish but the staff was patient and worked with us throughout the ordering process. 100% will be going back here when I return to Mexico City!

Yelp
One of my close friends in the city recommended this place to me and I was blown away. It looks very low key from the outside but it's a must go to if you're in the city, especially if you're a tourist. This food is delicious, it is from Yucatán and the south end of Mexico. I highly recommend starting off the with Sopa de Lima (like soup) and then for your meal getting the Cochinita Pibil tacos and tortas. They usually have live music going on while you eat so it's pretty chill. Also, be sure to get there during off hours. It's gets extremely packed during the weekend. I was lucky to get a table on Sunday at 2pm. By 3pm the line was out the door and into the street!

Yelp
I was never a fan cochinita, being an ignorant Californian. I was hesitant to try it, but this is what it's all about! This place is amazing! I wanted to walk around the Zocalo, come back and then order yet another plate. I wanted to try everything on their menu by the time I was done. Cochinita was awesome and the chamorros are next on my list. I may even smuggle some on my carry on, on the way back to the airport.

Yelp
I love this place!!! The cochinita is amazing, the portions are great and the order of panuchos is also enough for 3 people, from now on it will be one of my have to go places every visit:)

Yelp
We ate here on the recommendation of a local friend. We ordered slow cooked pork tacos, two slow cooked pork tortas, and chicken cooked in a type of leaves. Everything were very tasty. The restaurant is located on the second story of a old building with a beautiful interior. The service was a little slow but acceptable. The total bill was 200 pesos, about $15 U.S. which was a steal.

Yelp
We had to persevere to find the place and then the entrance to the second floor. It was well worth it. Great Cochinita Pibil Plato! Served two, plus we had leftovers. Nice breeze through the windows.
