We had a visit to the Christmas market at Højbro Plads and nearby to Strøget walikgn street. Good options for some light food and hot drinks…

The market itself was nice enough, we bought some nice decorations but unfortunately we were pickpocketed. When we got to the police station there were other people who had also been robbed at the same place, at the same time. Alyhough it looks good this is a very risky area

Avoid the cheese ("truffled french cheeses") stall, we've got scam there. The seller will pretend he don't know how to cut the cheese, so you end up paying more than three times the size you have asked for. I can't recommend the raclette either. Overpriced and totally disgusting, no quality whatsoever. My 7th year in Copenhagen and in their Julemarkeds and it's the first time I ever had such a bad experience.

Dont buy the nougat! The place is a scam. I asked for the smallest slice she could cut, ended up being 40 euros! I asked to do half of that, the vendor said "once I cut out of the wheel I have to sell it". Total scam...

We visited the Christmas markets at Hojbro Pladsen and then went walking to the one at the Kongens Nytorv. The atmosphere in both markets carried a thick festive vibe. There weren't many vegan/vegetarian options for families like mine, but we enjoyed watching the bright and beautiful displays of locally made products, the hot chocolate, the potato chips, and the people dressed in holiday cheer. What I loved the most about these markets was that they only sold products made in Denmark and that tells me a lot about the patriotism of the Danish population. The products were pricey, but very classy.
